Percy Jackson...
I recently finished reading Son of Neptune and found myself inspired to roleplay some Demi-God action... I was just wondering what the interest in it would be before I think of some concrete evidence for a plot. At the moment I've got ideas aplenty but it all depends on what kind of interest the role play would garner.
A couple of things that I've sorted already:
A couple of things that I've sorted already:
- I most likely won't be allowing too many Demi-Gods with the Big Three for fathers.
- It will take place in Europe.
- The time period will more than likely start at the same time as The Lightning Thief.
- You will have a choice of Roman or Greek. And no. They won't be civil with each other yet.

Sounds awesome.
I read Son of Neptune in one sitting. Took me about six plus hours a killer headache. Totally worth it.

Yeah, I was kinda meh about TLH, since there was no Percy, and it was really awesome to see him again in TSoN.

Re: Percy Jackson...
Good to see interest.
Now I need to work out a main plot.
I already have it planned for there to be a Roman v Greek civil war break out.

I think it'd be fun, but the time period screws me up. You think everyone'd be more worried about the master bolt than getting in a civil war.

Re: Percy Jackson...
It wouldn't be a civil war between the God's. Just the Demi God's...
And I was thinking that the European Influences on the God's could have made them differ slightly from their American Aspects...

Like how famous writers and playwrights usually refer to them and stuff like that?
Anyways, I'm in. Haven't read THoO series yet, but loved the first series.

Yeah. Was also thinking of attributing a country to a God.
For example... Dionsyus and Ireland.

...What about those of us who don't live in Europe, and aren't completely familiar with the culture?

Research? :L
Or do what those of us do who aren't American and have to take part in America based RP's. Follow by example, or research or make it up and try and get it right?

Re: Percy Jackson...
Only read the first series, but I might be interested. Though, I really don't think I like Greek vs. Roman, considering the books did have gods made up by the Romans(Janus says hi) working with the Greek gods. Plus, I remember there being several references to the gods being renamed and such.
Unless it's a nomenclature war. Which, to be perfectly honest, sounds even more stupid. If you ask me, there are several plots that could be done with the series, depending on the research you do. So yeah, I'm interested, but not really liking the Roman vs. Greek thing.

I'm going to make both a Greek character, and a Roman character.

Re: Percy Jackson...
Kakuzuto: I was basing the idea of a war on the fact that it's been said in SoN that Greeks and Roman's have a violent history. And on how Octavian and the other Roman's acted when the War Ship from the Greek's arrived. My thinking was if you go back in time about five years(which is when the RP is set) and you factor in a whole different continent, the Greek's and Roman's being at war with each other wouldn't seem too far fetched. Especially when you factor in a little bit of pushing and manipulation from the main Villain and his cronies.

Re: Percy Jackson...
Dionysus was also the god of partying and that, though. Fun cultural references aside, doesn't make a whole bunch of sense. Not to mention he's more wine, so maybe France or Italy would suit a lot more. So there.
But I digress, it sounds good.

And Book, I do reccommend you watch Hetalia. European stereotypes.
Anyway, I would make it take place right after Last Olympian, but before Lost Hero. That way they can freak out or something.

Re: Percy Jackson...
Couple things, Stab.
While it is true that they have a violent past, it is also true that the gods seperated them for that reason. I highly doubt the gods would stand by, and let a civil war take place between their children.
We also need a reason for why the two sides are about to start fighting. The Roman's second most important god is Mars, who is all about fighting for a reason, so I don't think they would just declare war without a really good reason. The two sides aren't nations any more, so territory isn't an option, seeing as ther basically just two camps, who are thousands of miles apart. In fact, I believe that if they knew about each other, they would just try their best to ignore each other.
Come up with a reason, and how the villains would minipulate that to happen, while making sure the gods don't get in the way, and I'll be good.

Re: Percy Jackson...
*Reading The Lost Hero right now* But Book. If this is taking place inbetween TLO and TLH, then hasn't Olympus been 'shut down' by Zeus? If that's the case, they could still be in Olympus with the kind of the gods covering his eyes.
