SBURB: A Homestuck RP

And so it begins...

Joey yawned as he got up that morning, after another night of bad dreams. In his dreams, he kept hearing voices, telling him what to do, but when he woke up, he couldn't remember what they said. But that didn't really matter right now...

Today was July 15th, the day his copy of the SBURB Beta was spose to arrive, and he couldn't wait to play it.

It just another typical summer morning for Vayn. Wake up, take care of chores, avoid SIS, and get on pesterchum. He eas just getting back to his room, a bowl of cereal tucked under one arm. He quickly logged on to his computer and leaned back in his chair. He was supposed to get a beta today. He couldn't wait to go get it and play it with his friends. He'd had dreams before, something to do with the game, premonitions, in a sense. He'd had dreams like that his whole life, but he had trouble remembering the dreams, though they were starting to happen with more frequency. He sighed and pushed the thoughts aside, and logged on to Pesterchum. It didn't look like anyone was online, so he opened ECHIDNA and started browsing the web.

Jane opened up Cetus on her computer to see if the SBURB beta had come in. As she kept refreshing the page over and over again, she opened up Pesterchum as well, to see if anyone was on. "Hey, there's Vayn!" she said aloud with a smile and clicked his user.

FlyingFlynn: Gah! I can't stop hitting refresh! I'm too excited!

Vayn was randomly browsing through some website when he heard his pesterchum ding. He opened the window. Jane was messaging him.

xenophobicAtrophy: It's definitely going to be fun. Have you talked to anyone else yet?

FlyingFlynn: No, I haven't. Just logged on. Someone else needs to log on! Group chat!

Jane opened up Tetris, giving up on refreshing for now.

FlyingFlynn: What time was it supposed to come out?

Joey walked over to the computer, deciding to get on Pesterchum, before checking the mail for the game. He smiles when he sees that Jane and Vayn are both on, before opening up a chat for both of them, and typing the same message for the two of them:

dynamicHero: Hey, you ready to play?

XA: I have no clue.

Vayn sighed, closed Echidna, and leaned back in his chair. He opened the drawer on his desk, and rifled through it, picking up his dual knives, immediately stuffing them in his strife deck.

XA: I'll go check in a bit. Sis is going to be out soon. Either that or I'll steal her copy.

A chat window with Joey popped up.

XA: I don't have the beta yet. Did you get it already?

Jane smiled when Joey popped up on her screen.

FlyingFlynn: Do you not know me at all? Of course I am! I keep hitting refresh. I asked for the downloadable version, and it HASN'T COME OUT YET. >__<

Joey smiled as his two friends respnded, before taking out a soda from one of his Captchalogue cards, opening a space for other items. He then proceeded to reply to his friends.

Vayn:
DH: Not sure, I'm about to check the mail.

Jane:
DH: Just be patient, I'm sure it'll show up soon.

He then proceeds to get up from his computer, and looks out the window, to see a mail-van drive away from his house.

Joey smiles, before running to the door, with great excitement.

As Jane refreshed again, some about the webpage had changed. The download, for the SBURB Beta Client file, was now available. A note at the top of the page, saying that the Server file would be available later that day, had appeared as well.

"YES!!!!" Jane screamed and hit "Download." She danced around her room happily as it downloaded

Joey ran back into his house, two envelopes in hand, before heading upstairs.

He quickly got on the computer, and opened up a memo, before sending links to it to Vayn, Jane, and Amber, in case she got on soon.

DH: Guys, I got the game!

Jane stopped dancing in time to hear the ding on her computer again.

FlyingFlynn: Bitch, I'm downloading it now! *dances*

Joey raised an eyebrow at his frieds cooment, before going to reply.

DH: Oh, so both the Client and Server files are avilable now?

FlyingFlynn: No, I'm just saying I'm downloading it so I can mess with you. >_>

While chatting, Joey proceeded to check the site of the download.

DH: Huh...looks like you're only able to download the Client.
DH: I'll download the Server, and we can start playing.

Vayn stared boredly at his screen, got up, and looked out the window.

XA: Good luck then. I'll go take the copies from my sis in a while.
He shoved a couple things in his jacket pocket fetch modus, namely a bottle of Coke, and some random stuff he would weaponize later.
XA: How about you Jane? Have you aquired the game yet?

To Xeno:
FlyingFlynn: Downloading it now!!!

To DH:
FlyingFlynn: Okay~

Joey proceeded to insert the Server disc for the Beta, and began to wait for it to finish downloading. Joey picked up the evelope the disk had been in, and stared at the company name. Skaianet, eh...

DH: K, I'm downloading it now.

The computer dinged and said it had finished the download. Jane screamed in glee.

FlyingFlynn: ALAS, IT IS MINE!!!!!

Joey smiled as it finished downloading, before taking a swig of soda.

DH: Awesome, now let's connect, and see what this game is all about.

Vayn looked out the window one more time. Still no change in the mail. It was drizzling now.
He sighed, and got up. He'd go retrieve his sis's copy of the game. He quietly opened the door and peeked around the corner. The coast was clear so he dashed down the hallway. It was decorated with juggler pictures and statuettes. They were obviously cheap ripoffs of knife throwers. Like Vayn was. He opened the door, and peaked inside. He could see the two envelopes on her desk. He stepped inside.
"That was easy..." he said to himself, stuffing the envelopes in his jacket pocket. He escaped his sis's room and returned to his own.
He plopped down in his computer chair, and pulled up Pesterchum, opening Joey's link to the memo

XA: I found sis's copy of the beta.

Amber had just finished eating breakfast with her Uncle. She had just chcked the mailbox, but the package hadn't come yet. Guess I'll have to wait a little longer ot paly with everyone...

The girl then grabbed her laptop and sat down in the living room, logging onto PesterChum.

nobleVagabond: Heya! Sorry I'm late.

XA: Okay. Go ahead and figure it all out, and I'll talk to Amber when she gets on.

He fished the server disc out of his jacket, and slid it in his computer. And installation screen popped up.
Skaianet? he thought. He'd never heard of it before.
He sighed. This would be interesting.
As the game was downloading, he heard a bird chirping outside his window. He opened it, and fished for some birdseed in his jacket(Birds are fuckin' awesome). Instead, he accidentally flung a clump of knife blades at it.
"Ah shit." he said. The dead bird flew several feet, out into the yard. The wings were full of knife blades. He covered his face with both palms, and turned back to his computer.
The server was still downloading. Looked like it would be a while.
Amber's chumhandle popped up in the corner.

XA: Nice of you to join us. Did you get the beta yet?

NV: No. XP Deliveries take forever to get out here...

Amber heard her Uncle walk down the hall, but decided not to bother him since he'd be heading to the museum soon.
