The Overlord's Court

The droplets disappeared, going back into the water. "Not quite. Not good enough to generate my own yet."

"Still, better than I." Kyruna stated.

Lucrezia gave Kyuna a smile. "Give yourself credit, it takes confidence to master any of the elements."

"I have yet to get that far with Water," Kyruna said to her.

"I myself am trying to learn water magic next," Magnus commented, nodding at the Princess' efforts. "I thought I might get the classic elements down before moving onto ice and lightning."

"Sounds reasonable." Lucrezia replied to Magnus.

"Not that anyone that wasn't of Overlord blood has ever mastered more than I have already, but it's worth a shot. Don't have long left till I'm past my prime, and I've already learned the ways of the sword, spear, axe and bow. I'd like to leave a legacy," Magnus finished, more to himself than anyone, as evident by the fact that he murmured it. It was accidental, but it meant only those near him could hear it, which was probably a good thing.

The Overlord nodded, understandingly. "I see, well Field Marshal, I wish you luck then."

"So remember, Overlord, just because you can use all elements doesn't necessarily mean you're untouchable. Court life cane
make you go physically soft, even if sharpens your political brain and you practice your magic," Magnus told him. He didn't want to see the kid die. Not another kid die.

"No need to worry, Field Marshal."Isaiah said. "I'm doing my best to stay in shape."

"And I'll make sure he doesn't get fat." Lucrezia chirped, patting Isaiah's back. "But then once he has a Consort it'll be their job!"

"Well you would say that you're fit, Milord. Wouldn't be any doubt of fitness were you still under my command," Magnus growled good-naturedly, not wholly serious, before hearing the Princess' words.

"Well at least I know you're in capable hands from the time being, I suppose," he chuckled.

"Mmm-hmm!" Lucrezia laughed as well.

Isaiah laughed himself. "Indeed I am..."

Kyruna had quietly stepped outside of the training area. So as not to disturb them.

"In any case, I was planning to head down to the barracks, inspect how good the guards here are, and maybe get some practice in," Magnus explained, one hand resting on his battle-worn sword. His solitary wedding ring made up pretty much the entirety of his finery.

Lucrezia took note of the ring on the Field Marshall's finger, but her happily teasing expression never faltered. "I can already hear them shaking in their boots."

"And right they are," Magnis grumbled good-naturedly. In reality he was looking forward to it. Unannounced inspections from a superior would be a good way to whip the castle guards corp into shape.

Lucrezia nodded, looking up at the sky. "Nice today... I think I'm going to go show Kyruna some more things. Goodbye for now."

The blonde gave a small bow (since she was wearing pants) to both Isaiah and Magnus before heading off to find the Mage.

Again, the mage was outside, just leaning against the wall.

Isaiah gave his sister a bow. "I'll see you for dinner." He said to her, as she left.

"There you are." Lucrezia exclaimed with a smile once she found Kyruna. "Would you like me to show you some more sights?"

"If it would not be too much of a bother," Kyruna answered truthfully

"We will have to travel by horseback to reach a few of the areas," Lucrezia said. "Do you know how to ride?"

"Better than most commoners, milady," Kyruna answered truthfully.
