~ Thought Dispersion ~

This is a role play between Suvi and myself. No others are allowed to post here.
A single thought could bring about the utter collapse of all existence...but which thought will it be...?

Beyond the realms of the corporeal and even the ethereal, there exists a massive span of space-time that houses a powerful river composed of naught but ever-flowing thought. Every speck of information that passes through the minds of all sentient beings in existence in numerous worlds and even universes winds up coursing through this so properly named phenomenon, the Thought Stream. Since the beginning of time and the appearance of sentient life, it is said that the void containing the Thought Stream has grown significantly. Starting out as nothing more than a tiny rift in the fabric of the highest planes of existence, it has attained more and more thoughts as life developed all across the universes causing the rift to expand exponentially into something far greater than any simple disturbance. However, higher beings have noticed this, the Thought Stream, yet have not figured out its purpose. They discovered that even though it possesses a plethora of thoughts, no single thought can be 'picked out' and read. The thoughts all meld together in a mighty maelstrom, so the task of reading the thoughts themselves is impossible. So if not a source of information, then what is the Thought Stream? Deemed pointless to investigate, the Thought Stream was left unattended such that it would continue to grow and grow. Everyone looking into the phenomenon gave up their research and inquiries and went on with life...

The stream reaches out to the few that could possibly save the entirety of existence...

Billions of years into the future spanning out from the beginning of time, there emerges a powerful force intent on accomplishing nothing short of a single goal, one wrapped in evil and vice. Not a single being knows who or what is, but the denizens of the myriad worlds have noticed that their homes are being...meddled with. Chaos breaks out in many worlds, trying to subdue the wrongs that have been done: distortions in space and time, the appearance of foreign creatures and monsters, and seeds of panic and destruction sewn throughout the populace causing people to lose hold of whatever sanity they had possessed prior. So much has gone wrong that the people fighting against this chaos are losing hope, succumbing to anguish faster than the destruction can be halted. It is for this reason that a select few find themselves lost--torn from their home worlds and tossed into the Thought Stream. Absorbed into the phenomenon, they are thrust into a foreign world for a reason they were never told. It will be up to them to make heads or tails of the situation. Undoubtedly they will want to return to their homes, but doesn't the question still linger: Why were we brought here in the first place?

From world to world, they will travel and undo the chaos that has been wrought on the universes...

Without warning, the Thought Stream carries the chosen to different worlds, each with plagues upon them, and perhaps clues on how to get home or what the Thought Stream might actually be. There's also the issue of why the worlds are in threat of destruction in the first place. Will the chosen find their way home? Will they discover who the sinister being behind the crimes against all existence actually is? Will they finally understand the truth behind the Thought Stream and its existence?

Try not to think about it too much. The more thoughts that pass through your mind, the larger it grows....

Character Profile Info:

Name: What your characters name is, obvioulsy.
Gender: He/she/it/scarecrow and what have you.
Age: Any age is fine as long as it's reasonable.

Appearance: Description preferred, but I'll accept a link.

Personality: How your character acts generally. You don't have to reveal too much if you rather develop IC.

Description of Home World: This is a must. A decently thorough bio on the world your character came from. A name, if applicable, along with a brief explanation on its nature and culture would do fine.

Short Bio: A little bit about your character's past. It doesn't have to be immensely detailed if you don't want it to be.

Special Abilities: Any abilities your character might possess as a result of living in the world that he/she/it/scarecrow lived in.

Other: Any extra talents or quirks about your character can be tossed in here if they weren't covered in the fields above.

* * *

My own profiles:

Name: Kazu Gneiss
Gender: Male
Age: 24

Appearance: Standing tall with a lithe form, Kazu shrouds himself in a tattered black cloak beneath which he dons black leather armor. It's a bit tight-fitting for his tastes, but it helps in battle. His hair is not much more than a tangled, dark brown mess that falls down to his shoulders. His left eye is often concealed by his bangs, and his right eye is the one most often visible. Both are a sharp crimson color reminiscent of blood, but despite such a fearful trait, the eyes are actually rather soft in their appearance, though it doesn't do much for his overall gruff visage. A dour expression often plagues him for reasons many would understand. He is armored with light metal gauntlets with blades protruding from the knuckles in the form of claws. A brace can be found strapped to each of his forearms, and with a swift arm movement, he can activate the mechanism of the braces causing crescent shaped blades to emerge from them. His legs are protected by long black pants with leather plates protecting the knees and shins, and heavy boots that are oddly silent when he walks adorn his feet.

Personality: Kazu tends to be fairly light-hearted, but this trait is often hidden away beneath the grave aura he exhibits. He often takes on a serious feel, but it's really more like he's constantly reminiscing something he'd much rather forget. The man is definitely sociable, and upon making friends, he often likes to tease and taunt them jokingly. He's a surprisingly trusting individual expecting anyone who he fights with as allies to have his back. The thought of someone stabbing him in said back is probably the farthest from his mind. When in battle, he tends to grow extremely dead-set on being victorious; it's the one time when joking around is not an option, especially when there are a lot of things on the line.

Description of Home World: Kazu came from an unnamed world ruled over by a fiercely powerful sorcerer that aimed to harness the power of the stars as an infinite energy source for the planet. As such, he unleashed tendrils of darkness from the bowels of the world to latch onto the very sky itself, draining energy from the cosmos and consequently tethering the sky to the planet. Many saw the horrible consequences of such an act and aimed to destroy the tendrils themselves and overthrow the sorcerer. As such, the world has been in a constant struggle, fighting between the rebel forces and the sorcerer's regime being commonplace.

Short Bio: Kazu was actually on the side of the sorcerer, hired as a personal assassin, for that was all Kazu had ever been great at: killing. However, when the sorcerer finally enacted his plan, he couldn't turn a blind eye to what was happening to the world. As such, he turned against the sorcerer himself only to lose, and was forced to flee the sorcerer's castle. In response to his treason, the sorcerer coldly killed the one that Kazu had fallen in love with, a fellow assassin working alongside him for the sorcerer. She, too, had been planning on rebelling, but she didn't have the courage to do it alone. Driven by rage and vengeance, Kazu planned on killing the sorcerer himself, but his plans were immediately halted when he found himself whisked away to another world via the Thought Stream.

Special Abilities: Besides having his weapons and being able to wield them well, Kazu is practiced in the art of stealth and possesses a decent amount of physical strength. By living in the world that he originated from, he inherited some cosmic powers through the sorcerer's actions, integrating those powers into his brutal melee attacks, mainly having to do with the manipulation of moonlight and other sources of light in space. He can also use the power of moonlight to heal minor injuries, though the effects of such spells grow when it is nighttime.

Other: Kazu detests chocolate and prefers food that is naturally sweet like fresh fruit. He's a horrible artist, but can sometimes be caught etching doodles in stone with his clawed gauntlets when there's nothing else to do. He also detests talking about issues of love and romance for obvious reasons.

Name: Rien Saffir
Gender: Female
Age: 18

Appearance: Rien's radiant face portrays such innocence. Her large, navy blue eyes gaze out at the world with optimism and good cheer. Her lips press together and curve upwards to form a cute smile. Atop her head rests lustrous blonde hair cut short in the back while her bangs were given more room to grow along with two, long, rather thin bundles of hair falling against both sides of her head. She wears to velvet bows on each side of her head in her hair, a navy blue color to match her eyes. Accentuating her slim figure, her dress of an even darker blue falls down to her ankles. The dress is made of a very soft fabric. The sleeves are short and puff up a bit at the ends before portraying dangling strips of cloth like waving banners cut into various, archaic designs. A large white section of cloth covers the area over her rather large bust with tiny frills running over the top of the section. Flat-soled dress shoes, also navy in color, rest upon her feet, and often times she can be found wearing a white sun hat with a light blue ribbon tied around the base of the crown.

Personality: Just as her image exhibits a quality of innocence, so does her personality. Rien is remarkably sweet and kind to just about anyone and anything which gets her into trouble sometimes, especially when she decides to sweet talk vicious monsters from her home world. Despite being as old as she is, her mind remains to be untainted by the truths of the world in general such as corruption, betrayal, perverseness, and sin. Because of this fact, she comes off as a bit naive and ditsy. She can be fairly knowledgeable about factual information, but when it comes to acting upon instinct, she tends to get panicked and becomes at a loss as to what to do which causes her to have to heavily rely on others when such situations arise. She might seem to be nothing more than deadweight at times, but she has a very good diplomacy and is great at negotiating and communicating with people. When excited, she can grow impatient which tends to be a bit of an annoyance, but if one succumbs to cute things, then one would probably overlook this fault.

Description of Home World: Rien originates from a world with a heavy-hearted history named Alidaire, a world full of mysteries, magic, and monsters. Alidaire has seven continents, each with very distinctive features and climates, along with detailed histories. Only a single lone continent possesses no indigenous monsters, and everywhere else in the world has to deal with the constant threat of them. They also have to deal with such things as angry and jealous deities, tyrannical rulers, hermitic beings that hold power over all the world's magic, arrogant alchemists, the increasing destruction of their fabric of reality, and pixies. As such, it is a very dangerous world, yet no one questions how the people who live upon said world can even get one night of peaceful sleep. Regardless, most people upon the world are armed with weapons and magic to defend themselves and their cities, and otherwordly beings sometimes intervene, guiding heroes along their paths to a destiny involving saving the planet from some extraordinary evil forces. So it's not such a bad place to live. The cities and landmarks are beautiful and pure, hardly tainted by the touch of man. Some civilizations even integrate their lifestyles into nature, building cities out of mountains and amongst the trees of vast jungles and forests.

Short Bio: Rien lived on the continent of Elendia in the capitol city of Altinor. Her sister, Rayne, served as the captain of the Royal Knights that serve under Her Royal Highness, the Queen of Elendia. As a result of her sister's position, she was granted a place to stay in the castle and treated to a fairly easy life. She spent most of her time wandering the groves on the plains surrounding Altinor, or treading through the castle gardens. She also spent many an hour reading books in the royal library, building up a vast reservoir of information concerning her world. Eventually, word began to spread that her sister was up to something...sinister. A conflict between her and a renegade knight by the name of Chance Crawford seemed to be drawing quite a bit of attention. As she was about to delve into the truth of the matter of what her sister was up to, she found herself plucked from her world by the Thought Stream and deposited in a completely foreign land.

Special Abilities: Rien doesn't appear to possess any special abilities. As a native of Alidaire, she has control over mana--the source of all magic. However, it remains unknown whether or not she is adept at spellcasting. Her sister has the ability of aquakinesis, the manipulation of water, but it is also unknown whether or not she inherited this trait. Regardless, she still seems to hold something more than what merely meets the eye.

Other: Rien loves to cook, and when not reading or wandering the wilderness, she really likes to party in the kitchen. She's quite good at it too. Besides reading nonfiction, Rien also thoroughly enjoys reading fictional mystery books. There's always time for a good mystery, she says from time to time. The harp is her favorite instrument and she absolutely swoons when she hears one playing. She also has a mild dislike of insects.

*Okay, there are both of mine. Just post your own profiles when you get them done, Suvi. If you have any questions or need help with anything, just shoot me a PM, 'kay?

Name: Quin Phoenix
Gender: Female
Age: 15

Appearance: Quin is about 5’3” and rather muscular for a fifteen year old girl. She is sensitive about her height and body, finding that she doesn’t quite fit in with everyone else her age. While her black hair isn’t that bad, her reddish-brown eyes make her stick out even more, and she dislikes them, usually keeping her bangs in her face, with the rest of her hair pulled up into a bun. Her skin, while naturally pale, manages to keep a decent tan during the summer, though she usually burns first. She is dressed in the general uniform for her country, a simple, non-revealing beige dress and shoes.

Personality: Quin is a bit withdrawn and awkward, and seems to have trouble interacting with people. She often mumbles to herself, and is quite the social outcast. She’s also rather mature for her age, adding to her social awkwardness. She doesn’t really understand those her age.

Description of Home World: Quin lives in the country of Baiyu, which is constantly at war with its opposing country, Bing. Both are under a harsh dictatorship, though there is very little rebellion on either side due to the amount of propaganda and thought shaping. Baiyu is very industrialized, and there is little farmland. Most food is grown in labs, leading to a bit odd breed of people. While most look normal, they have a certain object they can use and control, like an umbrella, or a pen.

Short Bio: Quin was born into a rather difficult spot. Both of her parents were not only involved in the resistance against the Dictator of Baiyu, but they led it. She started combat training at the young age of five, and was expected to have much higher mental capacities than most. Not only was she supposed to keep her parents’ secret, but she was also supposed to start her grooming for taking over the family business- the cover for the resistance- a military technology company for the Dictator.

Special Abilities: Her object, as lame as it is, is a rock, about the size of a golf ball. There’s nothing really that special about it, at least in appearance, but it allows her to channel the air around it into the shape she wants, including things like a beam, or bullets. Think airbending. Without the rock, she’s just a normal human, and she can’t just pick up a different one.

Other:

-can walk on her hands

-loves oranges

-scared of monkeys and other primates

---

Name: Jingchun (晶春)However, he often shortens it to “Jun”
Gender: Male
Age: 20

Appearance: Jun, though he doesn’t show it well, is rather self-conscious about his appearance. Due to radiation, he, like most others of his generation suffers from birth defects. He was born without eyes, his main problem, and eleven toes, his extra toe on his right foot. This causes him to walk with a bit of a limp. He’s tall and scrawny, adding to his awkward appearance. His shaggy dark hair reaches down to his shoulders, and he has the beginnings of a scraggly beard. He doesn’t want to risk cutting himself trying to cut his hair. His clothing consists of whatever he can find, usually rather ragged in appearance, but he always keeps a dirty cloth tied over his eye sockets and forehead.

Personality: Jun is pretty happy-go-lucky considering his situation. He believes in the good in people, and usually ends up getting along with everybody. He always tries to be optimistic and happy, hoping that it will rub off on other people’s pessimism.

Description of Home World: Jun lived in a city in southwestern US, near the Mexican border. Due to a radiation spill, most of the western US became a wasteland, leaving only a few scattered cities of those too poor to leave. As if that couldn’t get any worse, when he was 17, a worldwide storm wiped out everyone over the age of 18, leaving everyone either orphaned, injured, or dead. Because of the storm, later referred to as the Great Storm, or just the Storm, the survivors soon found that they had the ability to control a sort of essence in everything, called Flow.

Short Bio: Jun grew up in a poor city, leaving him with little care for his disability, two overworked parents, and three younger siblings. He developed many ways to deal with his blindness, which came in handy after the Storm. He has been wandering around through the wasteland for a while, trying to find a decent place to settle down.

Special Abilities: After the Storm, Jun was delighted to find that he could see, despite the fact that he didn’t have any eyes. Only later did he realize he’d developed a third eye in the middle of his forehead, and that the longer he looked at things, the stronger the air of depression was around them. Plants wilted, people committed suicide, animals ran off, et cetera. Once he reached 18, it got even worse, and he now keeps his third eye covered at all times.

Other:

-gets around using echolocation, and has a habit of making a clicking noise every few seconds

-better senses (mostly hearing) than the average person

-has a fondness for soft things

Funny thing about the water. My friends and I were joking around awhile ago, and decided that pure water was probably like gods' food, or something. XD

Well, the world of Sanctuary was designed to mimic the ideal of 'heaven' in a way, so you could definitely imagine it like that. XD That's why its effects on our darling outsiders are so...intense. Purest thing they'll ever drink~

Feel free to take control of any of the Council NPCs.

There's:

Howard - Representative of Humility
Teresa - Representative of Temperance
Claire - Representative of Chastity
Paul - Representative of Patience
Karen - Representative of Kindness
Case - Representative of Charity
Douglas - Representative of Diligence

They all pretty much act according to their cardinal virtue. You can add any other quirks you want. Claire's the only odd one out, so you might want to leave her to me. :>

Also, just so you know a bit about the problem they're dealing with:

Spoiler:

Oh, and the Council have the power to impose their virtues onto other people. >o> Kinda important to add there.

Just like last time, if you need to know anything about Darnavan, just lemme know. I feel obligated to say it now. XD

If you make NPC's, they can be called by their profession like Mayor is since that's kind of like a thing in their little society. If not, then they usually have simplistic names with no last name (which probably helps when it comes to slapping a name on them.)

As a quick fact, there are other towns on Darnavan, but they're really, really far away from Twilight Villa. Twilight Villa is the closest town to Infernal Keep where Rathoros stays. Also, the people of Darnavan have no special powers or fighting abilities--they really don't have a need for such things anymore.
