Phoenix Industries

Vlad laughed, keeping the PA system turned off. He'd keep her in suspense for a little while longer out of spite.

"What does that do?" Dexter asked, gesturing to the machine with her umbrella.

"It is the product we're going to show you today." The whitesuit said, before taking out a remote, and pressing a button.

I the other room, a hole opened in the ground, and a pedestal began to rise out of it.

"DUDE!" Victoria screamed, irritated. "Am I in or out? Can you at least let me out of here?!"

Vlad's laughter came over the loudspeaker. "You're in."

"Hurry up," Dexter demanded, scowling.

Victoria sighed and smiled. "Thanks." she said in a normal voice, and collapsed in exhaustion.

Upon the pedestal sat a large block made of steel.

The whitecoat activated the machine...and the block's form began to contort. Within seconds, the block had completely imploded in on itself, as a small explosion went out, two forcefields protecting the machine, and the window.

"Explain it to me."

Within minutes, Martin and Marty had arrived carrying a stretcher, loading Victoria onto it and taking her back to the infirmary.

When she woke up in the infirmary later, Victoria was startled at first. She didn't remember coming here. How did she get in this bed? What happened?

"I'm sorry, but the exact details are classified for the time being, but the product was based off of the data we colleced from the ruby." The whitecoat said.

Jack raised a hand, reaching out to the ruby.

OOC: Dex and Jack work together to escape?

"So you wasted my and Phoenix Industries' valuable time, just to show me a morphing piece of metal? Don't expect any funding from us anytime soon," Dexter scowled.

OOC: As of right now, she can just walk right out. |D

"But...we were never funded by Phoenix Industries." The whitecoat said, confused. "We were ordered to accept your request from the higher ups."

And that's when the alarms started going off. Immediately the whole facility began to start moving franticly

Dexter rolled her eyes. "Here's how this works, you imbecile. We hired you to do research on new military technology for us. You are easily repla-" she was cut off by the alarms.

"What's that mean?" she asked, clenching her umbrella.

The white coat was confused by what she had been saying. He new for a fact that until today, Phoenix had no involvement with the facility.

H quickly shook his confusion off to answer her question. "It means there's been a breach in security in one of the highly secure sections...but security measures were upgraded last week, it's probably just a mal-"

And that's when the door bursted open, an out of breath whitecoat coming in after. "P-professor...I-it's gone!"

Jack ran through the facility, heading towards the exit as fast as he could. He only had half an hour left, and he couldn't waste time.

Dexter rolled her eyes, before walking to the exit. This scientist was an idiot. Phoenix Industries was the only military technology-based company under the support of the dictator, who else would have funded their research?

The object of interest had been stolen, and she'd have to go get it back.

OOC: ...What's Dex's last name again?

OOC: She just goes by Phoenix even though she and Vlad aren't married yet.

"Ms. Phoenix, where are you going?!" The whitecoat called as she left the room. He was still slightly confused by what she had said. The facility was currently being funded by the dictator himself, if he actually exists.

Jack frowned, getting a bad feeling as he approached the exit of the facility. And this confused him, as his mask was currently in affect, and he still had plenty of time to spare.

OOC: Sucks to your assmar, Booky, the Dictator is my character, and guess what? Why pay for something when you can get others to do it? He pays PI, and they in turn give him military technology. It doesn't make sense for the Dictator to directly pay a company for something he wants PI to do.

"Silence, imbecile, and leave me be," Dexter told the scientist over her shoulder as she quickened her pace, exiting the building a few minutes later.

OOC: Ok.

Jack having left the facility, hurried around the town, taking several obscure, and detours, just in case, as he headed back to his place.

Dexter frowned, moving off to an obscure area, and trying to sense the ruby's power. As it was such a strong object, it was easily sensed, and she started moving towards it.

OOC: Is that a Lord of the Flies reference?

OOC: Yes, yes it was. xD

Jack turned for one last detour, heading towards a spot he had left something that would hide the rby's presense. It had cost a fortune, but it was quite useful in jos where the target was a powerful item.


He just had to reach the spot first.

OOC: Book, do you want Jack and Dex to meet up or not? x_x

OOC: I do. This is her cue to show up.
