Eshdao (Booky and Mayari)

Xyrel stood out on the balcony of her room of the Mage tower, looking outwards through the pristine white city of Iamayr. She wasn't there to enjoy the view, instead she was looking for an acceptable target. After all, she just a learned a new skill, and she had to practice if she wanted to learn more advanced stuff. She noticed a little pink bird that appeared to be cross-eyed. She pointed at the Derpy Bird, watching it as it flew around in a small circle. Energy began to gather at the tip of her finger.

"Xyrel!" Lyyra called from downstairs, in the kitchen, having just finished cooking. "Your lunch is ready!" She called, as she stepped out of the kitchen, and over to the staircase.

Honestly, if she's torturing birds again...

Xyrel was too focused to hear her. When she charged enough energy into the tip of her finger, she snapped, releasing the energy and zapping the poor Derpy Bird right out of the sky. "Yes!" she cheered, satisfied with the result.

Lyyra was walking up the stairs, when something fell down past a nearby window. She looked down from the window to see the same derpy bird that she had been feeding that morning.

"XYREL!"

"Ehehehe..." Xyrel laughed nervously and turned around to her servant, holding her hands up in surrender. "Oopsie."

Lyyra facepalmed when she saw the girl. "How many times do I have to tell you not to torture the wild animals?" She said, exasperatedly.

"But it was one of those stupid Derpy Birds!" Xyrel whined. If there was one thing that she absolutely hated, it had to be the Derpy Birds. Despite their cute and derpy appearance, Xyrel saw them as creations of the devil.

"I feed those birds every morning, I swear to the heavens above, if I find another dead one around here..." Lyyra said, death glaring.

She loved those birds, in fact, she loved almost all animals, whether they were birds, cats, snakes, dogs, alligators, bears, or fish. She had always been good with animals since she was a little child.

"In other news, I've been calling you for lunch for the last five minutes." Lyyra said, slightly irritated.

"Oh, let's eat, then!" Xyrel said, making a beeline towards the kitchen. "It's really nice here in the Mage tower, don't you think?" Even though they just moved there a week ago, she was already in love with the place. They had a nice view, a spacious living quarters, and a nice little place for brewing potions. She finally had a place where she could learn magic and not be constantly interrupted by that stupid knight and his pet bird.

Lyyra just sighed as she followed the girl, a small smile forming on her face. While Xyrel may have been a pest at times, Lyyra always enjoyed how the girl could always be upbeat and energetic.

It was nice that they had moved to a nice place like this, so that Xyrel could learn magic.

When they got to the kitchen, Xyrel would find a nice warm plate of spaghetti waiting for her, along with some silverware.

Xyrel sat down and immediately began stuffing her face, talking and eating at the same time. "I like here. Much better than Azaria-urp." She burped and giggled. "Oops."

Lyyra chuckled a little. "Please Xyrel, swallow, then talk." The maid instructed her charge. She loved Xyrel, she really did, but that girl needed to learn some manners.

Xyrel swallowed her food before continuing. "...Yeah. Lot better here since Ralek isn't around to screw stuff up." A sour look formed on the girl's face at the mention of the knight. "Anyway, can you come with me to library later? I wanna look for a few spell books."

"Of course." Lyyra said with a smile. "Just let e clean up here, and we can go as soon as you want." She said, before turning around to clean the last few dishes in the sink

"Okay~" Xyrel went back upstairs, looking for her Mage robe and her staff.

Lyyra quickly cleaned up the last of the dishes, before setting them on the drying rack.

She then went and began waiting by the stairs for Xyrel to coe back down.

Xyrel soon came back down, wearing her purple Mage robe and dragging her wooden staff behind her. "Let's go!" she cheered, heading towards the door.

Lyyra smiled as she followed the girl. "Alright, alright..."

A short elevator ride and a brisk walk later, the two made it to the Mage tower's ridiculously large library. Xyrel immediately began searching for the books she needed, knowing that, despite it being the largest library in the country, it wasn't exactly the most organized.

Lyyra walked with Xyrel, helping her whenever she needed it, such as getting books that were high on the shelf.

Xyrel found herself getting a couple of history books along with the spellbooks, one of them entitled History of Galamion. "This is interesting," she said, showing Lyyra the book. "Have you ever heard of these places?"

Lyyra shook her head. "No...Geography isn't really my cup of tea." She said with a smile, glad to see Xyrel so happy.

"I heard that Prayssa was really nice," Xyrel said, flipping through the book. "But the only thing about Prayssa in here is it's location..."

"Oh...?" Lyyra said, taking a look herself. "That is certainly strange."

"Yeah, I only see stuff about Eshdao in here," Xyrel said, looking through the index. "Isn't it weird?"
