The Black Market Empty The Black Market

Post by Masquerade Sun Dec 16, 2012 10:07 pm

Planaya, Sky, Dimension's Gate...

It was the day after the infamous meeting at the warehouse back in Estrella where brave, or perhaps reckless souls aimed to join the ranks of Captain Nika "Heaven" Makari's crew of dastardly sky pirate and succeeded. After Nika had literally blown the top off the warehouse, law enforcement stormed the sight of the crime, but it was much too late to pursue. The Dimension's Gate had already headed west, but went invisible and took an extended path north, and then back east as if to head for the coast instead of the mountains. The maneuver went off without a hitch and they made it off scot-free as was the usual. Now the ship soared through the air without its cloak, drifting through the clouds and soaking up the rays of the morning sun. The excitement had proven too much for Nika, so she had been up all night making sure the ship wasn't caught by anything, not to mention scrawling a brief note explaining where they were heading. The sky pirate captain sat on the side of the crow's nest, heedless of the obvious danger, her hands gripping the wooden edges tightly, though she wasn't worried about falling. She kept her sharp gaze focused on what lie ahead. She had decided to pay a visit to the black market in Carginy. She had a couple of friends (or rather business associates) there who would probably have what she needed: enchanted parts for the airship. The Dimension Enchantment Enhancement project had made absolutely no progress since the airship was stolen years ago. They were only able to make minimal repairs when needed, but the parts were nearly irreplaceable without a good source of magic. Nika managed to find one eventually, but it had the entire burden of fueling the whole ship--she really needed separate parts, and preferably someone who knew something about dimension magic.

Thoughts of how difficult it was to find such a person filled the young captain's mind as she remained perched upon her spot. The walkie talkie went off and she pulled it from her garments, placing it to her mouth. "Sirius?" she guessed in a sly tone, fairly certain of who would be responding to her from the other line.

"Yes. Carginy is several days away, and at this rate, it seems we're going to be in the clear for landing," Sirius stated. He stood in the control room manning the capstan while Bulwark slept. Swift had also long since retired, for the more advanced controls weren't needed for simple flights, and it was a pretty straight shot from Estrella to Carginy. Sirius didn't particularly have a desire nor need to sleep, though it was nice when he did. He found dreams rather fascinating even though he didn't have them very often. He allowed his thoughts to be momentarily vacant until the sound of Nika's voice rattled him out of his reverie.

"Excellent. I trust Swift and Bulwark are resting?" she inquired, though she already assumed the answer. Sirius was speaking from Bulwark's talkie hence the reason she didn't need to change channels.

"Yes, Captain."

"Wonderful...," Nika seemed to sigh in content as she closed her eyes and enjoyed the feeling of the warmth crawling all over her skin.

"..." Sirius said nothing for a moment before placing the device back to where his mouth would be and spoke into it. "Sirius, over and out." Grasping the capstan with both hands, Sirius guided the airship along, granted it needed little guiding for a straight path. It was almost therapeutic for him to steer. He otherwise tended to wander aimlessly about the ship, granted he knew that Nika did the same. Swift and Bulwark were much better at keeping themselves busy with various tasks. What did Sirius like to do in his free time? That was a good question.

Nika kicked her legs a bit in the air as she awaited for her crew members to get up. Some of her older ones were already down below on deck, getting things cleaned up, checking ropes and sails, and taking care of the heavy artillery. She was sure one was in the kitchen below deck cooking breakfast for everyone. Her stomach growled at the prospect of food, but she merely elicited a sinister smile to herself and ignored it. She was too busy thinking about things like who was going to accompany her to the black market, Sam, what kind of things they'd find at the black market, Sam, meeting her business associates again (which was always unpleasant), Sam, and so on and so on. Images of that cute, redhead flashed through her mind, and the flustered look the girl had taken on last night after being licked made Nika shiver in utmost delight. Mm, guess I'm hungry in more ways than one, she thought evilly to herself, even though she could probably yell it into the skies with no regard. It wouldn't do good to have everyone knowing it and worked into a tizzy over it. She preferred to be a hunter, stalking her prey and pouncing upon it, taking it in her grasp and imposing her will upon it. It wouldn't be half as fun if the prey were all wary to her wiles. She preferred to keep everyone on their toes.

"But that Sam, I have plans for her, hmhmhm."

The Black Market Empty Re: The Black Market

Post by AbsolWings Mon Dec 17, 2012 12:07 am

A whole day on the airship. This was the second.

Inkie hadn't been able to sleep at all the last night. Too much had happened, he was too tense, and besides that too excited. He'd found a cabin that reminded him of the old study; he'd set his stuff in it. Hopefully it wasn't already taken by anybody.
As the moon had crept up into the sky and the airship had floated on, the boy had grown only more and more restless. The wind from above kissing his skin, the moonlight making dazzling patterns on the clouds...while the cabins were honestly nicer than anything he'd ever had, he found it rather impossible to stay down there. How could you, when the sky was so close?
The boy, curious eyed, had found a list of menial things here and there that had to be done on the deck. It was an excuse to be closer to the sky; thus, he'd actually spent all night working while some others slept. He hadn't worked so hard in the longest.

His back and shoulders ached now, but he was overjoyed, and he honestly couldn't remember the last time he'd felt that way.

Inkie lay on the deck. The hard floor. He didn't care. The ground of the ship pressed mercilessly against the skin of his back, but the sun and the wind as they moved caressed his his chest and his stomach, shirt and coat having eagerly been left in his new room. It was the best thing ever.....
Inkie's chest rose and fell with calm breath, the slight muscles on his torso rippling every so often when he shifted position. His scarf was still tied carefully over his mouth and neck, but his face, as always, was still open to the world. Sunlight glittered off of his lashes, and his freckles shone where the sun hit them, a bit like the ink of the tattoo that traveled along the curves of his waist. At the moment he wouldn't worry about how slim or feminine his body was, though. Djinn was downstairs someplace, and that was the only time he truly felt awkward about the slope of his hips, or the unmarked smooth of his skin. Which wind now crept over, almost teasingly.

Freckled cheeks turned up as if smiling from beneath the scarf. Inkie's azure eyes were staring straight up, though the irises were constantly shifting back and forth, as if he were reading a book. A moment ago he'd been enthralled by watching a bird, and a moment after his chest had tightened as he watched it buffeted by the wind. Odd how tranquil it was and how chaotic it could be with just slight changes in altitude. He hope the little guy was okay.
Then he watched a cloud creep by, huffing slightly as it let sun-rays shine warmly, the heat and the light kissing his stomach.

Now Inkie watched Nika. She was up in the Crow's nest above him, her clothes fluttering slightly in the wind, along with that pink hair. He watched her a while more, transfixed. A small smirk seemingly tugged at his expression, eyes mostly. She was about his age. And yet...she was the full blown captain of an airship. Here she was, this teen, a girl at that (though he wasn't one to judge) and rather...pretty..he might say. If Nika wasn't the picture perfect example of why you don't judge a book by its cover, he didn't know what was.

Inkie's blue eyes slid away from his Captain now, aimlessly wandering over the sky. He rolled his shoulders and shifted his body, aching muscles rippling just slightly before settling. His gaze slid back to Nika. It looked nice up there in the Crow's Nest, so close to the sky. He'd join her, but...there was a small twinge of fear in him when he thought about it. Whether it was Nika or the height or the prospect of being up at such a height with someone like Nika he didn't know, but for now he'd probably just watch her and the sky, letting the sun kiss his skin.

The Black Market Empty Re: The Black Market

Post by Shadoe Mayari Mon Dec 17, 2012 8:20 pm

Raiden spent most of his first day working on simple, miscellaneous tasks around the ship, choosing tasks that he could easily do by himself. He didn’t feel like talking to anyone else so early on in the game. He kept his eyepatch off for the majority of the time, except for when he was in a large group of people (which was pretty rare anyway). He didn’t really talk to anyone either, but he would always answer when questioned, especially when it came to his eye. He was like a quiet little servant, doing whatever he was told to do.

Despite acting like a complete loner, he still kept a watchful eye over the younger members of the crew. It was just his big brother instinct. On the first night he checked on Marie and Max, asking her if they needed anything and she could alway go to him if she needed any help. He took a good look at Max, trying to find his expiration date and having it burn into his mind. He had done the same with most of the crew, except for Sirius. That guy was so bloody hard to read.

He checked the bulletin board on the second day, seeing the notice about visiting the black market. That meant interaction… Something that he really didn’t look forward to. Maybe he’ll just go with someone and let them do all the talking.

The Black Market Empty Re: The Black Market

Post by CodastertheDisaster Mon Dec 17, 2012 11:02 pm

The night following takeoff was met without sleep for Vulka, who was currently sharing a bed with Sam, due to the younger girl's constant begging. The redhead spent the night drooling on Vulka's shoulder, while the older girl stared at the ceiling and pondered their futures.

Vulka got out of bed early, leaving Sam stretched out on the bed. How such a tiny girl can take up so much space is beyond me, she thought, watching the girl who'd all but become her sister slobber in her sleep. Vulka let out a light chuckle, then left the bunks in search of something to do. The woman checked the notice board, carried out a few mundane tasks, and quietly walked out on deck. Nika was up in the crows nest, while Inkie was laying down on the deck, shirtless.

Vulka sighed, crossing her arms and standing next to the beam that held the crow's nest, her hair and cloak billowing out behind her in the wind. It was a nice day; the sun was shining and a light breeze flowed over the ship. Her thoughts traveled back the bulletin board. There was a notice about visiting the black market. Vulka considered going, mainly for the fact that she wanted to get off the ship. And maybe they'd run into trouble. The woman wanted to prove herself to the captain.

Vulka sighed, her hand traveling to her waist where her sword was buckled on out of habit. She drew the blade, sliding it noiselessly from the sheath. Rays of light glinted off the swirled steel, almost blindingly bright. She brought the blade up, lunged forward, twisting her wrist as she did so. She swung the blade around in an uppercut, then slashed twice horizontally. All of that took a mere couple of seconds. She executed a few other maneuvers before sheathing the blade. It occurred to her that others might have been watching, but she didn't care at that point. It'd been to long since she'd unsheathed the blade.

Just then, Sam came up on deck, rubbing sleep from her eyes. She immediately spotted Inkie from across the deck and came sprinting at him. Vulka looked away, but she could still here the loud Thud! that was Sam body slamming the boy. Vulka winced slightly.

"Heeey~" Sam said, after smashing into Inkie. She was currently laying on top of him, her arms wrapped around his chest. "How ya doin'?" she asked, staring up at him with eyes that sparkled like emeralds. "It's such a nice day~"

Sam's rapid-fire manner of speaking elicited a laugh from Vulka. "Sam, you shouldn't just slam into people like that. They probably don't enjoy it any," the older girl said. Sam just glanced over at her and grinned widely. Vulka laughed again.

The Black Market Empty Re: The Black Market

Post by Masquerade Mon Dec 17, 2012 11:51 pm

Lost in thoughts and daydreams, Nika became aware of more activity on the deck below. It seemed as though her new crew members were trundling out, though she was aware that most of them were trying to take initiative and do some cleaning about the ship even though they hadn't been put on the task list yet. This only reinforced her thought that she had made the right choice. Who would have thought that they would possess such astonishing work ethic? These are the menial tasks though, Nika mused to herself as her eyes glanced down below, spying Inkie lying on the deck with his shirt off. He was looking up at the sky, it seemed. She remembered doing the same when she had first stolen the Dimension's Gate, but she eventually took to the crow's nest which became her favorite spot on the ship--the closest point to the sky. In truth, she could fly even higher, but there was something about just taking a seat and relaxing. Below she heard the sounds of what appeared to be Vulka practicing a bit with her sword, and then Sam coming out to wreck Inkie's tranquility.

The incident elicited a sinister laugh from Nika, and the sky pirate stood up, her feet barely staying steady as she stood upon the ledge of the crow's nest. She walked carefully around the edge before she came to a point where she could look directly down at Inkie and Sam. She gazed directly forward at the sky and gave it a mock salute as she fell over the edge, spreading her arms and legs as she fell, the wind blasting her as gravity brought her closer and closer to smashing against the deck. Just before the point of impact, however, she curled into a ball, dancing streaks of electricity forming a sphere around her which slowed her descent until she was able to uncurl and land gently on the wooden deck, her trendy heels making a slightly audible clack.

"If the silent Inkie doesn't like it, you can slam into me anytime," Nika stated smoothly in response to Vulka's light-hearted reprimand, gazing directly at the young girl. Nika brushed imaginary dirt from her garments as if to make herself more presentable. "I like playing rough, you know, hmhmhm." Giving a subtle wink to the redhead, Nika turned on her heel and strode right over to Vulka, looking up at the woman's eyes. "Besides that, I wanted to compliment you on your swordplay. I could feel the wavelengths shudder with each slash," the sky pirate crooned, placing a hand on her hip. "I take it you saw the notice right? A part of me is hoping that you'll accompany me to the black market. Mundane shopping tasks don't seem befitting of one of your stature, ne?" She didn't resist the urge to spin about on her heel once more, giving a supposedly innocent smile to the older woman. Gazing at her face now, Nika realized how truly beautiful Vulka was. Nika licked her lips in a subtle manner.

"So how about it?"

The Black Market Empty Re: The Black Market

Post by AbsolWings Tue Dec 18, 2012 12:26 am

There was a shadow and a flash of red. Something punched Inkie in the stomach, forcing the air out of his lungs. The boy's azure blue eyes shot wide open, aroused rather abruptly from their usual shy, hidden expression. In an instant his body needed air, but when he went to inhale, his lungs wouldn't work. Inkie pushed himself up. It was like there was a weight on his chest. A little red weight, actually.
Inkie inwardly groaned and chuckled at the same time, his nose dragging in air and rather painfully forcing it back again. Soon enough his head was clearer.

Inkie's long black lashes fluttered as his vision defogged, those fiery blue eyes of his fixating on the friendly face above him. Sam. Of course. A red blush painted his face again, and Inkie looked away to try and hide it. He felt kind of awkward with a girl on top of him, herself wrapped around his chest. But she was sweet, no? He went to shuffle his feet, but they weren't on the ground. Inkie hesitantly hugged Sam back, nuzzling her head with his cheek, in case she thought he might be mad at her for some reason. She was so tiiiinnyyyyyy. The feeling of her little self in his arms made him want to melt, but he refrained from snuggling, his eyes shyly blazing, seeming to glow again, almost.
He barely even knew the girl, but she made a nice friend. She'd probably been the nicest person to him yet. Made him feel more like he belonged here.

Inkie tapped the smaller girl's nose with two fingers, his eyes and cheeks smirking, as if either teasing or playfully reprimanding. With that he picked her up, got up himself, set Sam down, and quickly ran his hands lightly over his chest and his sides, fingers brushing his abdomen, much like Nika. There wasn't much dirt on himself and he didn't mind getting dirty, but being mute and all, he was rather accustomed to theatrics. The boy shuffled his feet and relaxed with one arm up and bent over his shoulder, anxiously fingering at the back of his hair. His cheeks were still red but the color was fading, painstakingly noticeable against the paleness of his skin. He really didn't look like a sky pirate at all. The near pureness of his appearance made one wonder where he'd come from to be in such a place. His other hand patted Sam nice-like on the head, his freckled cheeks turned up into a sheepish smile, and then interlocked her fingers with his. He'd always had a thing for people's hands.

He'd probably looked kind of silly, red and flailing on the ground with a lil girl on his chest.
The thought made him cringe slightly, his small wince obvious, the slight muscles in his stomach tensing. His hand moved to his shoulder blade, rubbing slightly. He'd overdone it last night...

Vulka~
Nika~

Inkie tilted his head in greeting, his eyes briefly closed in acknowledgement before fluttering open again. His eyes slid to Vulka, and then to Nika, shifting between the two, again like he was reading a book. The boy seemed to squirm where he stood for a moment, flustered, before coming up with something to discuss. He gestured to the Crow's nest with his head, his black hair, messy from sleep, ruffling in the wind. When the gesture had quickly ended his bangs fell into his face, and he tried, failing of course, to huff them away with his nose.
He'd also heard about the latest expedition. Without a doubt he wanted to go to the Black Market, but he'd have to come up with a way to say so. Maybe.....

Inkie offered Nika his hand rather suddenly and a bit awkwardly, looking rather expectant. He'd just take her to the flyer, he guessed. That made sense. For the moment, asking about the Crow's Nest was put aside.

The Black Market Empty Re: The Black Market

Raiden made his way up to the wooden deck, noticing the small congregation in the corner of his eyes. He payed no mind to them at first, but then he hear Nika say, “You can slam into me anytime,” and of course interpreted it the wrong way. Or maybe the right way. Nika seemed to be that kind of girl anyway…

He leaned against the gunwale, running a hand through his bangs and pushing them aside, making it so that his Aingott eye remained covered. He watched the little group from a distance, quietly eavesdropping on their conversation. The Captain was quite interesting, for sure. He remembered having some trouble trying to find her expiration date; it was so far from now that his prediction was probably a month or so off, maybe even more. Well, strong and hard-headed people don’t go down that easily, and the Captain was still pretty young.

He felt awkward just watching them, just being an observer. It was a bit stalker-ish, but he’s not very good at starting or joining conversations. Until someone acknowledges him, he’ll just observe.

The Black Market Empty Re: The Black Market

Sam giggled when Inkie nuzzled her head. She giggled more when he touched her nose, and she laughed loudly when he took her hand. She snuggled up against him, nuzzling against his chest happily. At least, she did for a few seconds, until Nika mentioned that slamming into her any time would be perfectly acceptable. Sam's eyes lit up and she grinned mischievously. She let go of Inkie's hand and leaped across the deck, wrapping her arms around Nika's torso.

Vulka was in the middle of answering the captain when it happened. "I would be happy to go alo-" she trailed off, her palm coming up to her face. "Sam, I think the captain was being facetious," she groaned, while Sam just laughed loudly and nuzzled against Nika's chest. Vulka let out a sigh just as another breath of wind came through and ruffled the woman's hair and cloak.

Sam giggled some more. "She shouldn't have said anything then," the redhead countered, sticking her tongue out at Vulka. She then looked up at Nika. "Good mornin' cap'n," she chirped happily, seeming to forget all about the previous night's awkward situation. She was all smiles and hyperactivity this morning, as was usual for the redhead. Vulka absentmindedly wondered how she'd put up with it over the years.

The Black Market Empty Re: The Black Market

Post by Masquerade Tue Dec 18, 2012 2:35 am

Out of the corner of her eye, Nika spotted Raiden, the fellow who had played dress up last night, but seemed to be ditching the eyepatch for the moment being. She thought his poisoned eye was rather intriguing, and she wondered why he was so quiet, over there standing by himself. Thoughts scattered once again as Vulka began to answer her question, and it seemed to be an affirmative response causing Nika's honey-colored eyes to light up with immense pleasure, but the woman's response was cut short. Turning on her heel sharply by reflex, Nika's eyes widened as she saw Sam hurtling through the air in a fierce tackle, effectively sending the captain to the deck and sliding along a few feet before coming to a stop. In the distance she could see the awkward Inkie holding out his hand expectantly, but he probably wasn't expecting this. Regardless, Nika could feel her skin tingle a bit as she realized Sam was hugging her and nuzzling her torso. Nika smiled delightedly with a tinge of evil and brought Sam's face close to hers such that their foreheads could touch.

"Mmm, Captain Heaven doesn't joke around about things like this," Nika purred as she wrapped her arms around Sam. Oh, this was too perfect. Did this girl not know of her imminent fate by performing stunts like this? An amusing thought danced through Nika's mind. What if she really is asking for it, hmhmhm? It's not the first time a curious youth has come to me seeking answers about the pleasures of life, Nika thought mischievously, keeping perfectly still, enjoying the close contact she had with Sam. How easy it would be to just plant a kiss on those lips of hers, but Nika refrained for now. Mayhap a place a bit more private, ne? Schemes were already surging through her mind, but there were more important matters at hand to discuss.

"So, Vulka. You were saying you'd be happy to join me, yes?" Nika said in her most sickeningly sweet voice, finally taking her forehead off of Sam's so she could spare a gaze towards Vulka, batting her eyes a few times. "I think it's really for the best. The black market can get a bit...unruly sometimes. Especially in dealings with my so-called associates," she sighed, shaking her head and closing her eyes. The two associates in question were Brand and Gear. Brand was a massive man like Djinn and Bulwark who had a gift at crafting parts of all sorts--save the enchanted stuff. Gear was a magician with general knowledge of each tier of magic. He was pretty much a jack of all trades, master of none in terms of magic, but that meant he could place basic enchantments on parts, not to mention he could steal really rare parts--enchanted or not--with relative ease. The two were a dynamic duo, but their personalities were rough around the edges from being in the criminal business for so long. It was hard to work with them, but Nika really had no choice. They had the best selection on the market, and that was that.

The Black Market Empty Re: The Black Market

Post by Rose Hathaway Tue Dec 18, 2012 8:37 pm

The first morning that Marie and Max were on the ship, the little boy experienced airsickness. He had never been on a ship like this before, and she didn't blame him for not being used to it, so she stayed by him and took care of him for the entire day. Marie only came out to get food for the two of them, and then retreated into the cabin where she had been keeping him in his bed.

It was the second day afterward that the crew was greeted by a little boy emerging from the cabins and running around with a huge smile on his face. He looked so curious, so happy to be alive and in the sky, that gave him so much energy to run around looking at every possible corner of the ship. And when he emerged on the top deck, Max saw all of the crew members and wanted to see them all.

He ran up to Inkie first, giving him a giant hug around his leg. "Hi!!!" he said gleefully and with a smile of the few teeth he had. He did the same with Vulka and Sam and Captain Heaven as well.

Unfortunately for him, Marie emerged at the time where he hugged Nika's leg. "Max! Leave her alone!" she scolded quickly, and Max came running to his mother's side. She knelt by him, and quietly said a few lecturing words before she looked up apologetically. "I'm sorry, he's very affectionate and he loves new people. It's his way of saying hello. It won't happen again, I promise." she said to everyone.

The Black Market Empty Re: The Black Market

Post by CodastertheDisaster Tue Dec 18, 2012 9:54 pm

Vulka stood stoically, looking at the captain with a blank expression and eyes that could have very well been an endless stormy pit. "I am a wolf pack wearing a human's face. Once I unsheathe Lupa, men will back away in fear." She blinked, a breath of air causing her cloak to flutter out behind her. "And if they are not afraid at first..." The woman shrugged, just as a little body, one that wasn't Sam's for once, clutched onto her leg. She smiled lightly at the little boy, ruffling his hair before he ran off, adding himself to the snuggle pile.

Sam giggled lightly at the little boy, even reaching out and wrapping him in a one-armed embrace. Marie called out to him though, and the redhead could see Max being reprimanded by his mother. "He's so cuuuute~" she remarked, resting her head on Nika's chest. "You're gonna take Vulka, cap'n?" the redhead asked. "That's a good idea. She's real nice and stuff, but I've seen her fight before. You don't wanna get on her bad side, that's for sure," she said with a sigh, nuzzling against the older girl's neck slightly. Her eyes traveled to Vulka, who was still standing nearby, her features blank. Sam thought she looked like royalty, the wind ruffling her hair and making her cape billow out behind her. She possessed a certain kind of nobility; the kind that came from the way a person held themselves and the atmosphere they gave off. It wasn't hard for Sam to visualize Vulka dressed in queen's garb, but the image would dissolve as often as it appeared, because it was impossible to visualize the grey-eyed girl without her cloak and sword.

Vulka took a deep breath and turned away, walking towards the door that led below decks. She stopped next to Inkie, setting a hand on his shoulder. "Watch out for her," she whispered, boring into his soul with her eyes. She wasn't quite sure how she was feeling at the moment; a mixture of apprehension and dread. She wanted to go to the black market, to prove herself, but at the same time, she didn't want to kill, nor did she want Sam mixed up in everything. The last thing Vulka wanted to happen was to have her friend wind up hurt, or worse. Looking at Inkie reassured her a little bit, though she couldn't point out why. "Please." With that, she walked away, offering a kind smile to Marie and Max as she passed by them.

The redhead eased herself away from Nika, wiggling out of her embrace to sit on the deck next to her. "Vulka's kinda weird sometimes though. I can't ever tell what she's thinkin' about. Guess that ain't a bad thing, but her eyes...They strip you down. Take away everything, see into your soul. I guess that's why you're lucky to have her, cap'n." She sighed. "I mean, uh...That isn't to say we aren't lucky to have you, cap'n, but um...Vulka's an asset, definitely. And uh, we're happy to be here and stuff. T-thanks and all, cap'n," the redhead blurted out. "Didn't mean to be rude or nothin'." She collapsed back down on top of Nika, resting her head on the older girl's stomach.

"It really is a nice day~"

The Black Market Empty Re: The Black Market

Post by AbsolWings Tue Dec 18, 2012 11:25 pm

Inkie was about to offer his hand again, as always, ever so patient to be acknowledged. Being mute came with silence, and silence with invisibility. Not saying that he was invisible in this instance, of course; it just felt that way much of the time. The boy was cut short, however, when two tiny arms wrapped around his leg.

Inkie looked down, his cheeks turned up in a smile. It was the little boy; Max. He patted him on the head, arm warm from the innocent feelings the little kid poured off. He was such a cutie. Inkie still had a sack of cookies to give to him; he'd see to it that the kid got 'em, though perhaps at a later time. You know; when Nika wasn't around.
Inkie's eyes slid back to her, snuggling Sam. Or Sam snuggling her. Either way. The strong waves of lust emitting from the girl was enough to make the boy red in the face, a slight shudder running down his back. For a moment his eyes met with hers, at least in a one-way sense; his blue gaze, the one so emotional as to be overwhelming, locked on her eyes. After a moment they slid away, the sun lighting on his freckles. He kind of wanted to grab Sam and tug her away...
She didn't know what she was getting herself into....

Inkie shuddered again, trying his best to hold the feelings of lust as far away from his own emotions as possible, lest they get tangled up. He shuddered again, chest going a slight pink.

A movement in the corner of his eye attracted his attention, and Inkie tore his gaze away from Nika (who he wasn't quite aware he'd been staring at) to see Vulka coming towards him. She stopped by him, putting a hand on his shoulder; at first he flinched away at the touch, scared she was going for his scarf.
"Watch out for her..." she whispered, her eyes piercing. Inkie didn't meet her gaze, his Azure blues sliding shyly around the ship. He knew who she was talking about though, and perhaps he'd already decided to keep her safe. Vulka's voice sounded like music compared to Sam's driveling in the background.
"Please".

It was more of a command than a question, really. Inkie watched her as she left, her hair and cloak billowing in the wind. It kind of made her look like an elegant mist, if that was possible. A dark mist, but a mist either way. Inkie looked at Sam, who was laid out on the deck. The boy huffed. Might have been a sigh.

Now...for the Black Market. Inkie looked pointedly at Nika, blinking once or twice. His lashes hid the pure emotion in his blue eyes, lightly touching his freckle-sprinkled cheeks each time he did so. Once again, the boy truly didn't look like a sky pirate.

The Black Market Empty Re: The Black Market

Post by Masquerade Wed Dec 19, 2012 1:08 pm

What was up with all the unwarranted fear? Oh, that sinister grin didn't fade for a single second as the child had come up to her for a hug. Encumbrance he might have been, but he was certainly sweet. If he was a little brat, Nika would have made him walk the sky plank. However, his mother was intent to right this wrong, pulling the child away and reprimanding him, and then going as far as to apologize which was completely unnecessary. "Lady, come now," Nika crooned. "It's a pile of love here; your child was welcome to a hug, I assure you," she stated in an oddly calculating manner. Nika put a hand on Sam's shoulder and gave it a bit of a rub before standing up again, the breeze tousling her hair about. She turned her gaze to Vulka who was apparently confident in her abilities, but the woman didn't stick around for long. Perhaps she was feeling restless?

Nika listened as Sam went on about Vulka nervously, but the image of Vulka's hand on Inkie's shoulder and an utterance of wishing him to keep an eye on the redhead caused an evil gleam to light up Nika's eyes. Eventually, she looked back at Sam, and put one of her hands on the handle of her blade. "I'm pleased to hear she'll be an asset, but I can assure I'm the best around," she chimed, her grin widening. "There's a reason I'm the captain, and all of you are my subordinates." While she spoke, she was getting this odd feeling that caused her to look back towards Inkie. It looked like he had something to say, but of course that wasn't exactly the easiest thing for him to do for whatever reason.

The sound of her heels clacking against the wood of the deck echoed throughout the air as she marched over to the awkward fellow, placing her hands on his waist and gazing right up at him. "Well, boy? You need to let Captain Heaven know something, ne? Mm, why don't you spill it then?" she said in a teasing manner. She noticed how delicate his frame was, and how prominent his curves were. Mmm, this body... she began to muse, but didn't indulge the train of thought that was sure to leave the station. Instead, she awaited calmly for some sort of gesture from the fellow on what he wanted, her eyes still gazing almost unblinking into his own.

The Black Market Empty Re: The Black Market

Post by AbsolWings Wed Dec 19, 2012 7:19 pm

Inkie flinched away when Nika reached her hands out, but she didn't stop. The girl put her hands on his waist, looking up at him teasingly. Maybe smirking. Inkie blushed, a shudder briefly shaking his torso at the touch. The thought that she might be able to feel it just made him cringe, and the thought that she'd know he was cringing made him squirm in her hands...
That in turn made him blush, his skin flushing with heat, which only made him shudder again because now her touch was cool against his skin. Inkie swallowed, red in the face and suddenly wishing for his coat. Due to his condition he'd always been perfectly fine with touching other people; he had to get his point across somehow, right? Ironically enough though, he'd always been very shy; shy and easily flustered. Like now, for instance.

"Well, boy? You need to let Captain Heaven know something, ne? Mm, why don't you spill it then?"

Azure eyes blinked, staring down sheepishly at Nika, at least long enough to be polite before hastily sliding away.

"Mmmmmm...."

Inkie raised his hands and gently took Nika's wrists, squirming and tugging her hands away from his abdomen. Then perhaps with more theatrics than needed the boy pulled on his scarf, intertwined his fingers with hers, and began to lead her down the stairs to the Crew Cabins.

The Black Market Empty Re: The Black Market

Raiden trailed behind Vulka, a sinister idea popping into his head. He generally didn’t like to joke around when it came to people’s deaths, but he just wanted to have some fun for now. He waited until the hallways were clear and approached her, lightly tapping her on the shoulder. “Don’t go to the Black Market,” he said, averting his eyes away so they wouldn’t end up traveling her body. She really was beautiful… “Unless that blade of yours is magic-proof, of course.”

He thought of his own Dead End. Just joining Nika’s crew only delayed it for only a few days, but this time it’ll be easily preventable. He just had to look out for a tiny Eshdoan Mage with a knife. He smirked and pushed his bangs out of the way, uncovering his Aingott eye. Vulka’s death was actually too far from now for him to predict accurately, but whatever. He was only doing this for his own amusement.

Vulka stopped, spinning around on her heel to come face-to-face with the man name Raiden. His eyes would not meet hers, and he warned her about going to the black market. Vulka's expression remained neutral, her eyes boring into his, if only they would meet. She remained silent for a few seconds, observing his posture and body language. She couldn't really tell what his motives were.

"I appreciate your concern, sir, but I am not worried about the market. Rather, I think I shall be just find alongside Captain Heaven." She kept up her stare for a moment, then turned away, her cloak fluttering out behind her. "I will see you another time, if that will be all," she called out nonchalantly.

The woman returned to her cabin, shedding her cloak and sword. It was too warm for the cloak, in Vulka's opinion, and the sword wasn't needed since the risk of being attacked was slim. She hung both of her belongings up, and set off to wander the ship, familiarizing herself with her new home. Maybe she'd run into that Djinn fellow again.

For an airship, it sure had a lot of crap in the dry and cold storage compartments that were actually not garbage. The kitchen wasn't bad at all. A well structure facility for an aircraft such as this, and something told Djinn that it may have actually been a stolen ship. But he didn't give much of a rat's ass about that anyways. A ship was a ship. And he would bet a fair amount of coin that these youngsters couldn't even cook, save from the mother considering she cares for a child. He understood that woman's position a little too well for a man that never had a child of his own, but that's probably due to the fact he's worked with others on various crews that brought aboard their children too. Always a pain in the arse they were, and if Djinn hadn't pushed off board that kid and his mother the last time they would have died from the impact when the airship crashed. And Djinn wouldn't have gotten that nasty scar across his body from his own blade neither. Too soft for his own damn good.

Djinn wasn't wearing his coat or hat. Just the attire under which, and what can presumed to had once been a white apron. He was going to be cooking for the crew. It's the only way he gets crap off his mind, and he always had been fond of doing the task anyhow. It wasn't a chore for him at all. He rather enjoyed it, and was damn well good at it too. He was pulling things out of the cabinets. Jars of crap and spices and seasonings. Then more crap from the cold storage. What the hell is that huge slab of..it's beef of course. He hadn't seen a prime cut of anything in a few years. Prime cuts are an ideal way of acquiring mass amounts of product with long-term cheap cost.

This was a slab of beef chuck, and under that was a slab of beef ribs. He pulled out the ribs and sought for knives that he could use to clean up the meat. Once acquiring what appeared similar to skinning, butcher and boning knives he immediately took the skinning knife and cleaned away at the clear-fatty membrane just over the adipose. Once clearing that away, which took a pretty long time mind you, he took the butcher knife in hand and began cleaning off the excessive amounts of unwanted adipose. Too much fat on your meat would mean an unappealing flavor.

As he cleaned off the rack he thought of which spices he could use. A lemon, pepper and garlic rub would do nice for this.

Marie was told by the Captain not to worry about Max's hugs. But even then, Nika was a bit of a sex monster. It was more of a preventive measure to keep Max safe in general. The other members seemed to like him, as did Nika, but hugging the wrong person could lead to him thrown off the ship.

She smiled at everyone gently and scooped up the little boy in her arms before heading inside. Having the four year old running around on the deck made her nervous. Marie brought him down to the kitchen to get some breakfast, and found the big man in there... Cooking. Legitimately cooking.

Max's eyes widened. He squirmed his way down from Marie's arms and ran over to the man. "Hello Mr. Fluffy!!" he said happily.

"Max! It's not nice to call people fluffy like that." she scolded again as she grabbed some bread for the little one's breakfast. "I'm sorry... He's been very curious about everything and can get a bit candid. We're working on that. He's just like his father." she said sheepishly.

"Hello Mr. Fluffy!!" "Max! It's not nice to call people fluffy like that. I'm sorry... He's been very curious about everything and can get a bit candid. We're working on that. He's just like his father."

It took a few seconds for Djinn to register that they had spoken to him. He put down the knives and turned around, leaning against the counter he was working on only after taking off the service gloves he had been wearing to prevent his hands from touching the meat, and then washed up at the sink so he could cross his arms. "It's perfectly fine, ma'am. The little one didn't bother me one bit. It seems we both share the quality of being straightforward, me and the little tyke, he assured the woman in a friendly tone. Looking down at the child, Djinn crouched down and gave the lad a smile, "You can call me that if you want, I think it's a funny name," he ruffled the child's hair before standing up to talk to the mother again, "There's jars of sweet stuff in one of the cabinets if you'd be interested. Jam and marmalade, but I'd refrain from giving your son the latter. It's a bit strong tasting for a child." He moved towards one of the cabinets so he could pull out salt and pepper, and a bowl so he could mix the dry rub. After placing those on the counter he looked around for a few lemons and garlic, "This would not be the first time I've worked alongside a parent with their child aboard. Mind telling me how you've managed to put yourself in this position?" He looked at the mother for a moment again. He found her fairly attractive and fairly dangerous, and the kid was cute. Djinn took out a chef knife from the drawer and cut one of the lemons in half, slicing off thin rounds from that half. After which he skinned off the other half and whole and finely diced the rinds into dust, and then into paste by forcefully rubbing the flat of the knife against the product.

Raiden frowned, not receiving the response he expected. Whatever, he’ll find someone else to mess with later. He was starting to get awfully bored. Maybe he could go practice some of his other Ain abilities, but he’ll need someone to help him with that. Someone who wouldn’t hesitate to try and kill him. Or he could just provoke someone, but he didn’t want to give himself a bad reputation so early on.

Maybe I’ll mess with Nika next. Raiden sighed and shook his head, mentally slapping himself. What a stupid idea. Nika’ll probably wipe the floor with him. But she won’t kill him, for sure. That’s not the future.

He headed towards the lounge, keeping an eye out for someone who could help him train. Or someone who looked very irritable. Either one would work.

Max looked at his mother hopefully at the mention of jam after laughing from his hair being ruffled by the fluffy man. "Please, Mommy? Please?" he asked sweetly.

Marie rolled her eyes. "Oh alright. You can have some jam on your breakfast." she said with a smile and pulled it off the shelf. She grabbed a knife from a drawer and smeared some on his bread before giving it to the little boy.

Max sat down on a chair at the table, eating his breakfast, as Marie leaned against a wall. Today she had dressed herself in brown leggings with a violet tunic, and a thick brown belt across her waist. Her thick and long brown hair was tied up in a pony tail. Max was wearing brown corduroys and a red shirt on top.

"Mind telling me how you've managed to put yourself in this position?" Djinn asked.

Marie shook her head. "Nope. I think you've heard enough if you paid attention the other night when our dear Captain asked me." She said the Captain's name sourly. She let her disgust show for this Captain.

The Black Market Empty Re: The Black Market

Post by Masquerade Mon Dec 24, 2012 1:15 am

Nika's eyes widened as the boy she had been touching removed her hands from his body only to wind up lacing his fingers into hers and leading her towards...the crew's quarters? Was he taking her to his room? She had to admit that she was definitely surprised by the gesture, no matter how pleasurable it would wind up being. All it took was one touch to get him this horny? Unf, looks like I'm going to have a constant fix from this sexy young man, hmhmhm, Nika thought malevolently as she wasted no time in following Inkie to wherever he was leading her. Blinking, she still couldn't believe it. She gave a look back at the others who had remained on the deck before gazing head of her, mind consumed by thoughts of the oncoming pleasure. What sort of things would she want to do to this Inkie fellow? Maybe a little roughing up? Some knifeplay? She wondered how big he was...

Ugh, what am I getting excited about? Nika reprimanded herself as she continued along being dragged by Inkie. There's no way this awkward bastard is about to give me the ride of my life. She kept her innocently sinister grin on her face, her demeanor aloof as if going on a carefree adventure. However, there was definitely a cloud of disappointment settling over her. How could she get her hopes up like that? She knew better. She also knew that she had to keep it a secret from Sirius lest she become a laughingstock in his eyes. Regardless, if she wanted Inkie to do stuff with her, it would happen...whether he liked it or not. For the moment, however, she remained satisfied in indulging whatever little question Inkie might have had, for she knew he couldn't speak. He had to be showing her something.

But what?

The Black Market Empty Re: The Black Market

Post by AbsolWings Mon Dec 24, 2012 3:31 pm

The stairs creaked softly as Inkie led Nika down to the crew cabins. A thin layer of shade overtook his face the lower they went, though the azure of his eyes still seemed to glow; his lashes seemed lit by it even, at the moment half-lidded over his eyes, his mind was wandering.
Inkie squeezed Nika's hand to keep himself from drifting off. Where was that board again?

The crew's cabins lined the hall to their right, more lining the hall to the left. His wasn't too far down; just...three to the right. Above them the deck creaked with footsteps, occasionally throwing something down. Inkie looked up briefly and, as if on queue, a small drop of water splashed against his forehead. The boy blinked in surprise, one eye widening and the other winking shut. The face looked silly, but there was an obvious cute at the same time.
His cheeks rose and fell above his scarf, as if he were struggling between a smile and a serious face.

Focus Inkie...

Azure eyes danced down to Nika beside him, and for a brief moment, a new quality mixed itself in with the downpour of emotions. But before it was obvious what said quality was his gaze slid away again, peering down the hallway. The Captain was probably impatient. He could practically hear her heels tapping on the ground.
With a small tug and a pointed huff Inkie led her down the hall, turning to the left at the very end to face the bulletin board.
...
But the notice wasn't there.
Inkie frowned slightly, shuffling his feet. Well then. Where...
...

Oh yeaah!
A vague, scattered memory flashed through his mind. He'd taken the notice so he could show it to Nika...he'd gotten distracted by something up on deck and he'd put it in his coat pocket...
Gah...
Honestly, he'd intended to put it back.

Inkie pulled on his scarf and turned back down the hallway, tugging Nika along and stopping at a door that had a few smudges of clay on it. With an apologetic smile at the Captain he pushed it open, leading her inside and motioning for her to sit on the bed.

Mmmm...

He glanced once more at her over his shoulder before turning away, scanning the room for his coat. Despite the short time he'd spent in the place it was already slightly messy, his bag haphazardly thrown into a corner, a few of its contents scattered on a shelf. The room itself was sort of messy, what with the color smudges on the walls, but the boy didn't mind. 'Twas what he liked about the place. The previous owner must have been an artist. What'd happened to him? Her?...

Inkie shuffled his feet, blinking, and then strode past Nika to the other side of the room, where his coat lay. The notice should be....
He got on his knees to pick it up, hands sifting through the different pockets.

The Black Market Empty Re: The Black Market

Post by Masquerade Mon Dec 24, 2012 6:59 pm

Down the stairs Nika went voluntarily as she was led along by Inkie. They went all the way down the hall to the bulletin board which she was very familiar with. There she saw the rather crude diagram that was drawn by... She was suddenly glad it was dark in the hallway, for her cheeks may have turned a bit red at the thought of whoever had done up the diagram. Thinking it was in her best interest not to think about it any longer, she allowed herself to tap the floor with one of her feet in impatience. There was a definite grimace on her face as some sort of flash of realization surged across Inkie's rather dazzling azure eyes, and before she knew it, Nika was being led off to another destination which just so happened to be one of the crew rooms--Inkie's room. He had shot her an apologetic glance, or at least what she had interpreted as such, but she didn't know what he had to be sorry over. Probably from making her wait. However, he certainly didn't have to be sorry if he was going to do what Nika now thought he might.

Gotta hand it to the guy; he's pretty ballsy after all, Nika purred as she genuinely smiled, letting Inkie guide her to the bed where she promptly took a seat. Looking around, the room was quite a mess, but then again, there weren't any guidelines regarding how tidy the crew members had to keep their quarters. Besides, this wasn't the worse she had seen anyway. She remembered the last person to lay claim to the room. He had been a mysterious little kid who loved to paint and had a penchant for magic, but before Nika could get what she wanted from the child, he had used magic to paint himself an escape. The memories made her fume while Inkie searched through the room for something--she had no idea what. Turning her head, she caught a good glimpse of him crouched down searching through his coat. His back was just about was wonderful as his front, and Nika found herself silently standing up, her tongue running slowly over her lips.

She made her way across the floor in a sultry walk, heels clicking against the floor in a certain rhythm. When she came to a stop, she was standing behind Inkie while he had his back to her. A sinister grin crept onto her face as she leaned forward and embraced Inkie, wrapping her arms around him, her breasts squished against his bare back through her jacket. "May I ask what it is you're doing, bringing a young lady into your room such that we're all alone?" she purred into his ear, lacing her fingers over his finely toned chest. "What do you have to say for yourself, hm?"

The Black Market Empty Re: The Black Market

Post by AbsolWings Mon Dec 24, 2012 9:09 pm

Inkie didn't think much of bringing Nika into his room, honestly. It wasn't like him to even consider such a thing. The boy was so wrapped up in searching for the notice that the waves of lust rolling from Nika escaped him. In fact, they only grabbed his attention as his fingers brushed something papery in his pocket- and what could only be Nika's chest brushed...no...pressed...against the bare skin of his back. Lust and pleasure crashed upon him from the atmosphere, pulsing into his skin, hugging his being like a persistent heat. Or perhaps it was heat. Inkie's skin flushed a sudden pink, the abrupt warmth mercilessly giving away any composure he could have tried at.
Inkie froze. Wha...Nika...what was she...
His cheeks went a bright red, his eyes wide. The room seemed suddenly quiet to the boy. All he could hear was a small gulp as he swallowed hard, erratic breath equally matched by a pounding, erratic heart. She could probably feel it. His heart throbbing. Her fingers laced slightly over his chest, sending an untamed shudder down his spine.

No...no....no, no, no, no, no-
The notice. He was getting the notice. So that...
Her chest was squished against his back, just like the rest of her slight, shapely body. Perhaps her shorts were less than he'd imagined, because he could feel the skin of her legs against his body. And damn, her chest...
The boy started to shake, hormones crashing gleefully against his slowly drowning resolve. Morals, ethics, common sense... decency...

Images of bare, soft skin and distant noises streaked across his mind's eye. The boy tried to throw her off before they got too detailed, but all he could manage was another shudder, a tremble, his skin crawling with longing. This was different from when Sam hugged him. She was innocent, she was...she radiated friendliness. Nika...
The lust crawled through his veins, fogged his minds. He couldn't tell what he was feeling or what she was feeling...

Up in the crow's nest. Her light pink hair billowed behind her in the wind, coat fluttering slightly. Nika was like a butterfly. An evil butterfly, but a beautiful one nonetheless.

If she really wanted....he was single after all...her skin was so soft...

Inkie curled his fingers so tightly around the notice that he nearly crushed it, legs like jelly but still strong. The boy shuddered and stood up quickly, Nika on his back or not. His movements were rigid and obviously tense. Perhaps awkward. Thank god he had baggy jeans on or something...if there...gah...
He was over-reacting.....com...completely...but...her skin, and her emotions, and...

Inkie didn't answer her when she whispered into his ear, and he completely ignored the feeling of her breath against his neck. So close to going over the edge. But nope. Nope. Nope. Nope. Nope. Nopenope...
Nika was soon in his arms and sooner dumped onto the bed. Inkie stood over her briefly, hesitating, before tensely ripping his gaze away. Everything was so warm, and kind of fuzzy...he could feel the blood roaring in his head...

He was at the door. And then out in the hallway. Then he was on the floor. And he just kind of curled up there...
