Phoenix Industries (Modern Fantasy)

LOL Sucky title. If anyone comes up with a better one, that would be fantabulous.

Setting: Alternate universe, in a country under the dictation of Big Bad Dude (Yeah, names aren't my strong suit, so help with those would be appreciated D;). More specifically, an undercover anti-government resistance group disguised as a military technology producer.

The resistance group is led by the also CEO of Phoenix Industries, Vladimir Phoenix VI, and his fiancee, Dexter Phoenix.

The RP itself would be about the (mis?)adventures of Phoenix Industries v. Big Bad Dude and his evil ways. Characters could be from either side, or totally neutral travelers, or anything.

Magic powers are welcome. For example, Dex always carries around a possessed umbrella she calls Bee (short for BumbleBee), and that is her weapon of choice. Magic is not uncommon, although the technology is modern world.

Once I (we?) nail down the final details, by then Book and Rose'll probably be back and possibly interested, I'll put up a character sheet form thingy.

Is my character allowed to shoot lightning bolts?

Also, my character will be sporting a pair of Kamina Shades.

Lightning bolts are fine, as long as there's a weakness. For example, if he shoots them from his hands, and a hand gets cut off, or theres no feeling in it, there's no shooting lightning bolts from the stump or hand or whatever.
The magic system revolves around a weapon, like Dex's umbrella. If she looses or breaks the umbrella, she's kinda screwed.

Location: I'm picturing a modern day Amestris.
Start off: Urg, I had an idea, but both of your characters are neutral, so it wouldn't work.
Items: Stick with one, unless the two heavily rely on each other. Like if they get too far apart, they don't work. Together they work as a whole.

...So, do I have to edit my character?

That would be a good idea. ;P
