Reaching Salvation: Post-Acer Part 12

"So let's teleport her right beside that person. Bravo!" Luke cheered sarcastically, heating up slightly against his will.

Tom made his way silently over to Eithne before Nathan.

"You alive, Scotty?" the Irish man asked quietly.

Eithne was indeed alive, though unconscious and probably wouldn't be coming too any time in the near future.

Tom took a pulse, and, satisfied his friend was alive, made his way over to Nathan to check on him.

Paul just yawned. "That was boring."

"Damnit..." Joey muttered, when they teleported away, he himself had tried to stop them, but like everyone else, had failed to do so.

OOC: Wow, gone for about two hours, and you guys do this much?

Kira tightened her grip on Luke's arm, wishing he would stop yelling. "I-It's f-f-fine..." she stuttered, trying to stop crying and wishing he would cool down. "C-Calm down..."

Luke took deep breaths, cooling down his body heat. He glared at Ryker, not saying anything but hobbling away as best he could.

Kira rubbed her eyes, before following Luke and hesitantly grabbing his hand.

Paul sighed, knocked the dust off himself and called out, "Hey, is everybody all right?"

Luke managed not to snap at her, almost wanting to cry if he couldn't scream in anger. It seemed like he wasn't allowed to get angry those days, and the stress was driving him crazy.

"L-Let's go h-home..." Kira suggested, biting her lip. She didn't want to be here anymore, not near all this blood and death.

"Yeah, fine," Luke managed, staying calm but brief.

Kira bit her lip, letting go of Luke's hand and quickly walking back to the forest, starting to cry again. She pulled up her jacket's hood as she walked, hugging her arms like she was cold. Wasn't today supposed to be a happy day?

Luke tried to keep up, saying 'Kira...' but falling behind. He had been at his limit in the village, but Kira's numbing oil had wore off, and he couldn't manage it. His leg gave out under him, buckling at the knee, and Luke was left in the floor, unable to move. If he flew he'd set the forest alight.

Kaylee stood above Luke, now clothed, and looked down at him. "Get up..."

Hearing Luke crumple, Kira turned around, fear flickering in her eyes as she ran back to help him. "I-I'm s-sor-r-ry...I-I'm s-sorry..." she repeated again and again, crouched down beside him.

Seeing Kaylee, she blinked, scrambling back a few feet in surprise.

Luke looked up at Kaylee, as if he was wondering how one person could be that stupid. In the end, he lay back, focusing entirely on trying not to explode.

"Get. Up. Use your will," Kaylee said, "Don't think about pain. Pain doesn't exist. It's a limiter in the human mind that holds you back. It's not there. Everything else is will power. You flow is fire, a flow of will. Use that fire to make yourself strong. Don't let it hinder you, control it and push yourself beyond limits you never had. Don't let that fire destroy what you have, make it protect everything you love."

"No, my Flow is creating fire outside my body. Not turbo-charging myself and turning myself into Iron Man. My leg that's been ripped to shreds, that's real too. If someone tries to walk off a broken leg and they reach their limit, you don't tell them to get up. I don't know you, I don't particularly give a shit about you, so please just leave," Luke replied, even piloted than usual.

OOC: He said "shit." :K

Kira bit her lip, extending a hand to Luke. "I-I'll help y-you home..." she offered quietly.

Kaylee just disappeared.

Erika was silent, but she agreed with Heidi wholeheartedly about the recent events. They couldn't leave us alone... after all this fucking time...

OoC: Maybe typing a few words at a time on my iPod while I'm reading isn't a good idea.

"I think I'll spend some time by myself, thanks," Luke told her. "I'll be fine in a few minutes."

"Fine then, fucking ignore me," Paul growled, and the pile of wood he'd been making exploded, "I'm fucking out of here." He stormed off to his house, the grass around him dying and wilting in his wake.

Kira bit her lip, before nodding, a small plant growing next to Luke. "P-Pull a leaf off if y-you need anything..." she mumbled, before standing up and quickly disappearing into the forest.
