Re: The New Layout
While it has nothing to do with the new RP layout, I think something's screwed up with the images in the signatures. Sometimes it says that only admins can view the images. I only noticed it after the new layout, so maybe something got screwed up?

The budding RPs section is where I noticed it.

Re: The New Layout
I prefer this layout because it avoids the confusion of the previous layout cf. 'I can't figure out which forum to put my RP in because it fits the bill of two fora!' type queries. Plus it also shows a reminder of the intellectual requirement of each RP in a good way, I guess. =)
There's one more question I have: why do we have a separate Statplay section? Why cannot the Budding/Blossoming/Tree RP fora accomodate Statplays since there are so few?

Re: The New Layout
Statplays are almost like a different kind of RP. While it seems unnecessary, I liked it better to be separate.
Re: The New Layout
I've got some mixed feelings on it. On the one hand, we've abolished the 'genre' based one, which as Espy said, kind of provided some sort of conflicts on which RP was of which genre, especially when they fit underneath more than one. It's a little easier to follow along with now, and hopefully people can tell what skill level they want to follow...
On the other hand, though, it sort of strikes me as promoting a little bit of elitism. The 'skill level' thing seems like a club of sorts, where only the perceived "better" people can get into the top-ranked Tree level (which is shockingly empty, at the moment). Maybe I'm the only one who noticed this, though. Forgive my rambling!

Re: The New Layout
Elitism only come from people who are douchebags. On a site like this, I don't think anyone really cares.
Re: The New Layout
I thought of it more like this: If you want to join a tree level, you just need to be aware that you'll need to put more effort into if than a budding or blossoming. If you're not doing that, you can be asked by others to up your game, and if you don't, well it's your own damn fault. You knew what you were getting into.

Re: The New Layout
Oh, and Rose Swan; why not have a Freeform forum and a statplay forum, and under both, have a Budding/Blossoming/Tree roleplay type subforum?
