The World of Minshir (fantasy/tree)

Minshir used to be a peaceful place. Green grass, healthy plants and animals, mild weather. It was perfect. But as humans began to become more scientifically advanced, they started poking their noses into things that they didn't have any business in. That's why the war started.
A group of miners, using their mechanical tools, decided to drill deep in the earth to search for rare minerals. They found something rare, alright. But not something beneficial. When the miners came out of their holes, they were changed. Grotesque, pulsating parasites covered their bodies, turning them in to bloodthirsty monsters, who had no purpose but to destroy and kill. As the parasites spread, larger versions started growing and mutating, until there were massive scaled beasts that were near-unstoppable.
It seemed hopeless to fight, for there was no leader to kill, no plans to make. Just survival. But there was a leader, though what it was, nobody would guess. It was a massive blob, nothing more than a pulsating pile of greens and reds, with arms and legs jutting out of it, faces screaming and roaring the folds of the main body. And out of the top, there was a human torso, complete with arms and a head. It was the entity that controlled everything else. And every time one of it's malformed children died, it grew bigger. Every time a human fell in combat, it grew bigger. It was unstoppable, growing and changing always, getting stronger.
But there was a hero; a simple man with the will to save those he loved. He fought bravely against the Fiends, and eventually he stood against the leader. He fought bravely, though it wasn't enough. The leader slaughtered him, and took on his name. Valdenvira.
And so, the hero became the Nameless. Valdenvira still ruled, though he started getting weaker. The Nameless fought not for himself when he was alive, but he fought for his friends and his family, and the innocents that couldn't stand against the Fiends themselves. And so they rose up, these people The Nameless wanted to protect. Valdenvira could not stand against the force of thousands fighting for each other, and was soon sealed away.

Thus began the first era

Every few years, Valdenvira would appear, and his Fiends with him. Parties formed, generally a group of three to six people. The whole purpose of the parties were to reenact what The Nameless did: fight Valdenvira to the death. Afterwards he would be sealed away for the next few years. This happened for the next several hundred years.
It was a regular party going up against Valdenvira. They fought bravely, and when the last man fell, Valdenvira laughed. He got larger once more, and Fiends started appearing frequently.
More parties went up against him fighting to the death, all ending in failure.

Valdenvira broke the seal.













Yeah, this is mostly a practice RP for Animerican that's mostly just a generic RPG-type world with a little bit of a backstory thrown in because otherwise it would be boring. So yeah. Anyone else interested?
