"Solanum" -Our Struggle

It was mid-morning at Roanoke Academy. Most students were in class or decided to ditch and were wandering around campus. At the front of the campus a man appeared to be stumbling around. The security guard on patrol noticed this and frowned, holding up his walkie-talkie to report. "Looks like we have a visitor at the North gate."

Careful, Buzz. The wackjob last time had a knife."

"Relax, this fella looks too shit faced to do much." Buzz chuckled, signing off and walking towards the gate.

Mari stared forward at her desk with a slightly drowsy look in her eye, already feeling very bored.

Anto sat at his desk, slightly too big for it, his hands clasped in front of him. He was seated beside the window, but already he seemed to be falling asleep against the sill.

Skylar sat his desk, further away from anyone, his eyes scanning the group as he decided to check if any of them would cause trouble.

They didn't seem like that... but, his tonfas were hungry...

Tuula was sitting in the front of the class, looking rather trapped. Why'd she have to be in the front? Why couldn't she be in the back, out of the way, so people wouldn't see her and try to talk to her? This was so embarrassing...

Joseph sat on the roof, having skipped Home Ec. for the day, and was staring at the North Gate, bored.

Louis rocked backwards in his chair at the back and glanced at Anto who was sat at the window. His hand went to a crumpled bit of paper by his side.

Once he was sure that the teacher wasn't looking, Louis launched the paper a couple of rows a head and it landed in Anto's lap.

The note read: Wishing we ditched now?

James was at his desk, doing nothing worth mentioning.

"Hey." A voice said to Joseph as Michael appeared, walking to the other teen.

Madison was wandering around, headed toward the school's courtyard.

Joseph turned an nodded to his old friend, picking up the notepade, and writing "Hey" back.

"You bet your ass I am," Anto muttered to Louis, wondering of he could away by 'going to the bathroom'.

Louis smirked and looked around. "Let me punch you in the face... and then you can say you have a nose bleed and have to leave?" He responded quietly. His eyes intently on the teacher as he said.

At the same time however he was scoping the rest of the class.

"Something feels odd," Skylar muttered as he stood up, grabbing his bag to look outside the window. "A visitor. Good, something for me to beat up hopefully."

Tuula sank down in her seat, intimidated by all the English conversations around her. Why did that language have to be so complicated? Why'd she have to move here in the first place?

Michael nodded and leaned against the railing that seperated the students from climbing higher up the roof or 'accidently' falling off. "How's practice going?"

Mari covered her mouth in a small yawn and cotninued to face forward. A minute later the girl felt a definite kick to the back of her seat. The girl rolle dher eyes and ignored it.

"Tired?" Louis called to Marie, still keeping it under the teachers hearing.

"Yeah mate, why don't I do the punching and keep it real?" Anto replied, grinning.

Fine...kindaboring without you, though... Joseph wrote back.

Mari looked over at Louis with a raised eyebrow, before shrugging and turning back to the teacher.

A harder kick was placed at the back of her seat this time.

Michael laughed and rubbed the back of his head. "Good to know I'm missed."

"No, Lou, she's yawning because she's full of energy," Anto piped up.

So...how've things been for you and Mari been lately? Joseph asked.

Skylar went back to his seat, dispite having a bad feeling, and the want for beating the crap out of someone. Maybe one of those two in front of him could entertain him for a bit.

"Can we hurry this up," Skylar said aloud.

Madison smiled as she made it to the courtyard and sat down under a tree. This is nice... She pulled a soccer ball out of her bag, tossing it into the air and catching it.

"...We're making ends meet." Michael replied.

"Listen, pal. Either you get your ass off the campus of I'm going to have to use force-"

"Uhhhhnnnn." Was the man's reply, from a closer expression the 'drunk' looked even worse. His skin was a weird color, he reaked, and... was that blood coming out of his eyes?

Either way, Buzz was at a loss what to do. He stuck his arm through the bars to try and get his point across when the drunk grapped onto the limb and bit into the flesh.

"Hey!" Buzz roared, takign out his nightstick and began to trya nd fend off the drunk.

Joseph would have responded, but then he saw what happened at the gate. ...Holy shit.
