We all know how important names are in roleplays. Having a character without a name is unheard of. So how do you go about choosing names?

I usually go for classic names, or new agey names. And if I can't think of anything, Google or Facebook. I'll combine some people's names. XD

It depends. Dictionaries are my friend sometimes. That's where I got Calyx and Lydian.

Heidi was originally going to be a self-insert, but she got a life of her own.

Kira and Elena, I just like the names. Cat Smile

Denny, I have a great-uncle by that name. He's missing half his thumb and is generally badass.

Quil...I have no idea. Neutral

I use to names of relative, but nowadays, I use some Homestuck names as well.

Other times, I just choose a name that sounds appropriate.

Names that I like or I think suit the character.

Erika was a lottery since I didn't know until later it meant eternal ruler.

Simon I chose because he was first based on a character from Lord of the Flies.

If he was, Heidi would'a been screwed up even more. Meh

Heidi means "noble," which I guess she is in her own sense. XD

Kira means "light" in a lot of languages, though it also means "death" in Japanese. I found that pretty awesome, since lots of people think she's a good person, but she thinks she's the cause of everyone's misfortune.

Apparently Elena means "bright/light/torch/splendor/vigor of the sun." Very fitting. XD

I basically pull something out of my ass that sounds good and use it.
Vayn. Just sounds cool, it's more 'vein' than 'vain'. Epsil is just Epsilon with out the 'on'. I can't remember where I got it from. Then Tel'Nyra is just something I made up...
