Reaching Salvation: Post-Acer Part 10

Paul smiled warmly. "Of course, I'll back you up on anything," he said.

Heidi blushed slightly, looking away from Paul as she used her Flow to drain the blood from her face and regain her composure. "Thanks," she muttered.

"No problem," Paul smiled, finishing up his breakfast "You better eat, it's long day ahead."

Heidi slowly managed to finish her food, pushing away the empty plate a while later.

"Ready to go?" Paul asked, stacking the plates.

Heidi nodded after a pause. She just wanted to go back home.

Paul stared at her for a second. "Alright, lets go get your swim suit and then you can go home."

Heidi smiled slightly, for the first time in a while, though it was quickly gone. "Alright."

"But don't think I'm gonna leave you alone," he grinned, "You are not sleeping all day." Paul stood up, offering his hand once more.

"Goddammit," Heidi muttered as she took Paul's hand again.

Paul proceeded to lead Heidi back through the maze of a building to Knit's room, who had finished her work.

"It's done!" The woman said, holding up a two piece, green swim suit for Heidi.

Joey nodded, but reamined silent, as he helped the two boys onto Ven, before turning to Jamie. "You ready to go?"

Jamie had her arms folded, and was silent the whole time. Even then, she just walked up, and mounted the bird.

Joey nodded, before getting on himself. "Let's get going then..."

Heidi stared at the swimsuit, having remembered that Paul said one piece. But whatever. With any luck, she wouldn't have to use it. "...Yeah, that's fine. Thank you."

"Coulda swore I said one piece," Paul muttered as Knit handed it to Heidi.

"You're welcome!" Knit grinned.

"Lets just go," Paul said, "See ya Knit."

"I have a question," Jamie said with a blank expression. "Why has it taken us three weeks to catch up. We are flying."

"Bye," Heidi muttered, turning to leave the building before she remembered that she had no idea how to get out.

"Yeah, I was wondering that as well." Joey said, turning to the fourth wall.

Paul chuckled, leading Heidi out of the building.

"Well, it took us about a month to get to the village by caravan... come to think of it- Josh, when did we first lose the trail?"

"About three days out." Josh replied. "...Darnit!"

"..." Jamie face palmed, hardcore.

"Wait-you what!?" Joey said. "Why didn't you say anything!?"

"I'm sorry, but Knit's fucking crazy," Heidi stated, holding up the suit.

"Look, we already knew the way back to the factory without it, okay?" Al repleid back stubbornly. "We've been heading the same exact route that we took getting to the village and we should've gotten there before them unless... oh double darnit."

"Eric used one of his new toys." Josh frowned.
