Erin took a deep breath now that everything seemed to have calmed down. She reached into one of her pouches and pulled out a small herb and placed it on her tongue, chewing it as much as she could. After that, she tucked her vials of purple toxin away and instead pulled out two small, thick glass jars of a slightly viscous liquid. She walked up to Seron and patted him on the shoulder. "Consider me impressed," she said as she shoved the jar into his hand. "It's a potion...well, not store-brand, but it should do the job to take care of your injuries," she explained to him. She held the other one and tried to peer into the brush and past the trees for a sign of Eon. She didn't have any reason to run; she really put the hurt on mandragora, after all, even if she also got hurt in the process. That scream had been devastating. The herb Erin was chewing was working wonders already, her headache nearly gone. She went ahead and swallowed knowing that there was a residual effect that would wipe out the rest of her ailment.

"Where did you learn to fight like that, Seron?" Erin inquired of the fellow standing near her. "Your moves were quite unorthodox, but very effective." The way he fought was much different than the way Vincent fought, but then again, they were two guys who used different weapons. As such, their styles were sure to have differences.

While waiting for his response and for Eon's return to them, she listened to the trees. They whispered her congratulations of victory, but also warned her that there was a chance they would be ambushed again before finally making it out of the forest. Some of the bushes told her that the mandragora were easily spited and were known to harbor grudges, especially of late. There was hardly any doubt that they would seek vengeance upon the trio. Erin mentally sighed at this, not wanting to alarm the other two just quite yet.

Eon pocketed the herb with shaking hands, sinking into the deep river of crimson leaves. Suddenly, she felt weak. Screaming really took it out of her. And then with the attacks...
The foliage made not a sound as she lay on her side, eventually curling up into a ball more or less. The sound of the battle grew farther away, world becoming a sort of syrupy paste against her mind.

She musn't go to sleep....
She should stay up.....
Had to find.....
Amelia......

Eon's body flickered once or twice, thoughts of her bed at home flashing through her mind before the world was plunged into darkness.

Seron beamed at the praise, offering a coy smile in Erin's direction. The man took the jar that she gave him readily enough, but he didn't drink it, instead twirling the jar in and out of his fingers as if it were a snake slithering across tree branches. Quite frankly, he didn't feel like he'd taken too much damage. And the adrenaline from before was still coursing through his veins.
Shifty eyed and a tad worried, his amber gaze scanned the autumn leaves for Eon.

"You're not too shabby yourself." he chirped towards Erin, winking and taking a few steps back, peering behind some bushes. Nothing.
Turning back towards the girl in the green dress Seron smiled, always happy to share something.

"I dunno, actually. I just see things, and...I dunno. Monkey see, monkey do, I guess. 'Course, I'm way hotter than a monkey".

Jokingly, obviously, Seron laughed, but soon ventured deeper towards where Eon had run off too. Hopefully she was okay...

Erin was curious of Seron's explanation regarding his fighting style. It reminded her of mimes and their ability to copy moves down to the exact detail after seeing them. Then there were the rumored blue mages who had the ability to learn the moves of their foes just by being attacked. But Seron definitely wasn't a mage. He didn't strike her as a mime either. He had his own way of doing things which Erin found rather refreshing. She noticed that he was looking for something, and she instantly knew what it was...or rather, who it was. He was worried about his friend. Eon had definitely sustained some injuries during the fight. Though Seron didn't seem too keen on using his potion straight away, Eon would probably kill for some recovery.

"I know where Eon is," Erin said, a bit disconcerted as she followed Seron along. "I'm only especially useful in areas with plants. They whispered me her location. Observe," she explained, waving a hand. The bushes and seemed to rustle before sidling off, uprooting themselves easily and then ingraining themselves once again in their new spots. As a result of Erin's gesture, a decent path was made in the forest brush revealing Eon at the end of it. Her body appeared to be flickering every now and then, and she was curled up on the forest floor. It was a pitiful sight. She must have been really hurt by the mandragora... Erin thought, grimacing a bit. Had the girl passed out? "Seron, I'll let you handle it; she'd be more comfortable with you approaching. Try and administer the potion I gave you. It would be of much more help to her. If she needs another, I have more," she informed the man quickly.

Seron was all eyes and ears as soon as Erin announced that she knew where Eon was. Then again maybe he should have known, what with the talking to the plants and all. She was really powerful; right from the get-go. She was, like she'd said, nothing to scoff at. A strong girl, which Seron admired; that and she'd just helped him find his friend.

The man ran a hand through his hair, bouncing on the balls of his feet as the plants cleared a visible path. When they'd settled and he could see Eon, a wave of relief washed over him, though there was still the underlying sense of worry. She looked...peaceful. Sure, she was out cold, but her face wasn't twisted in pain or anything. That fiery gaze seemed to soften, falling upon the even rising and falling of stomach and chest, and the snowy white hair strayed across her face. She was clutching her beret in her hands, body curled up into a fetal position. Resting, she didn't look quite so cold and intimidating at all.

"Ah- She's sleeping..." announced Seron, shaking his head as if to clear it and clutching the bottle tightly in his hands. He'd known she'd been pushing it by wailing twice. Just one made her woozy, and so the second time she must have just about used everything up. Not to mention the attacks....
He was by her side so fast that he didn't even remember moving there, sitting beside his friend and peering at her as if to make sure she really was okay. It'd be nice to let her sleep, but...
The man placed a light hand on her arm, knowing that just being touched softly would set all of her alarms off. She wasn't used to it and she didn't like it. Which was a pity 'cause her skin was so soft.

As expected the girl jolted awake, tense, scrambling backwards in a panic. When her shifting eyes rested on Seron she seemed to relax; though not much. Her body was still stiff. And her fingers kept kneading the spot where he'd touched her, as if she were trying to rub the feeling out.

Seron looked back at Erin, offering a happy smile and a wave to come over before turning back to Eon. He held out the jar of...stuff.

"Five gold and a rind of cheese says you won't drink it".

The man grinned hugely, face warm.

Eon worked to calm her pounding lungs, panting as she offered an emotionless (if surprised) look Seron's way. When had she fallen asleep? How'd he gotten there? And...ew...he'd touched her....

"You owe me five gold and a rind of cheese".

Breath still quick from being so suddenly woken, Eon took the bottle more or less clumsily, screwed out the cork, and worked on downing it. Only seconds later she felt her head beginning to clear. The stuff was working like magic. Probably the work of the Pansy Girl.

Speaking of which, where was Pansy girl? The view was blocked by Seron, who was right in front of her. But she was probably right behind...

Erin kept her distance as she watched Seron perform quite the mad dash to reach his friend. He was really, really fast. Erin had to blink a few times to make sure she had seen things properly, but it was to be expected if he felt such concern for his friend who appeared to be merely asleep. She watched as Seron touched her. The reaction that elicited from her was immense. Why had she been so afraid and panicked? There was more to her than met the eye, that was for sure. Seron waved her over, but she still felt apprehensive. Regardless, she began walking along the path she had cleared, noticing Seron administering the potion. Erin was glad to see that Eon was so receptive to it. She was afraid that the girl would be stubborn, but it seemed as though all was well. Erin came to a stop near Seron and Eon, a rather unreadable look upon her face.

"It's good to see that you're all right," Erin spoke with an affirming nod. "Seems like the potion worked well." She pointed at a few of Eon's injuries. The scratches and such had closed up for the most part. It was a rough, patchwork job, but it was a lot faster than having the wounds heal on their own. Now it wouldn't be any time at all before Eon was back to normal. Erin held up the other jar she had so that Eon could see it. "I have another if you want it. I can always make more as we travel."

Eon drank the potion rather quickly since the taste wasn't exactly fabulous, eyes trained on Pansy as she walked up. She still didn't like the fact that this girl was coming with them. If given a second to make the decision, her answer would definatley be to send her away. But she...did take down a mandragora. And she did have a few useful potions up her sleeves...so maybe she wouldn't outright make her leave.
The girl seemed tense as she walked up, Eon being just as tense. At least she didn't seem given to the endless and pointless chattering that Seron was.

Finally finishing the potion, Eon set the bottle down, breath returning to normal and heart ceasing to pound so hard. At Pansy's offer she shook her head, choosing instead to look away from everybody else and brush the leaves off of her beret.

Seron waved to Erin as she came over, seeming to squirm in his sitting position like an excited puppy. Was he ever still? Probably not. His eyes seemed just as shifty as his body, moving to Eon, then to Erin, back to Eon and then to some random movement in the bushes.

"I love monsters!"

The man laughed, running a hand through his hair. "Sans serious injury, of course".

He obviously spoke on part of Eon when he said this, since he himself, though attacked, had seemed to take a minimal amount of damage.

Erin duly noted Eon's rejection of a second potion which was probably for the best. As such, she stowed the jar away back in one of her numerous pouches. The girl wasn't very talkative, but on the other hand, Seron seemed to be quite...active. His love of monsters was a bit perturbing, but at least he would be able to handle the news she was about to break well. "You're in luck then, Seron, because we're not out of the woods yet...literally or metaphorically. Nature has whispered to me that the mandragora will likely try to take revenge on us before we make it out of Rustic Forest, so it would be best if we kept our wits about us and stayed prepared," she explained nonchalantly as if it weren't much of a big deal which it wasn't. Mandragora weren't smart, and they certainly weren't that powerful. They could overwhelm travelers by sheer numbers, but she would have sensed a threat that great coming from a mile away. They would be in the clear for the most part.

"Should we get moving? We can walk and talk at the same time," Erin suggested, mainly focusing on Eon since she didn't know what the plan was. "I figured you'd appreciate that since you seem to be pretty anxious about finding the witch. Are you all right to walk, or would you like more rest first?" The question was sincere. If Eon needed more rest, then that would be fine by her. It would give her time to make another potion or another poison--something that would be of use later on. She could work while walking, but it was always a bit harder to concentrate that way.

Seron seemed invigorated by this fact, not only in his eager sort of way, but in an extremely disconcerting way. His fiery eyes blazed up in a seeming bliss, faint smile playing across his lips, obvious vehemence on his face. Whether it was adrenaline, bloodlust, or a true love for monsters was unreadable. All behind those long brown lashes.

"I say bring it".

Eon, on the other hand, seemed to groan. However, this was replaced by and actual smile when the mention of a lead came up. Seron watched as his friend stood, those powerful legs not shaking a bit despite previous weakness. She was silent, but obviously appreciative, and clearly anxious to get a move on because she started moving away.

Erin gave Seron a wink and nodded her head in the direction of the main path they were to take out of the forest. As she walked with them, she found it odd how quickly they had grown on her. Whether or not she had grown on them remained in question, but it didn't matter anymore. They were all looking for the thing--the witch. A hardened look appeared on Erin's face as thoughts about how she'd make the witch pay and get Vincent back surged through her mind, but now wasn't the time to be that focused on revenge. They had to find the witch first before doing anything. It reminded of the plan--the one about which Eon had yet to be informed.

"Eon, it's a pleasure to meet you formally by the way," Erin said lightly as they trekked through the woods. "My name's Erin. You probably don't care too much about that, but I do have some information that you will care about, and that would be regarding how we find the witch." She allowed a smirk to play across her face. "We're heading to Embrace now to get something of Vincent's, the friend that the witch took away from me. There's a star-seer in the town of Equinox to the south of the Winterlands who can scry for Vincent. If we can locate Vincent, then we've already located the witch. How does that sound? It's about the best lead we've got at the moment," she tacked on to the end solemnly.

The walk actually wasn't too bad. Pansy girl's potion had worked like a charm.
Eon was grateful, even if she was the sort who'd never admit it. And, even if reluctantly, she did have to admit; the girl was useful. Not desirable, not wanted, and probably not at all caring for her and Seron more than using them; but useful. And she had a lead.

Eon cocked her head, turning to glance over her shoulder and look at the girl for the first time when she said this. Erin, was it? She had dirty blonde hair that was actually quite long, a green dress with vines on the bottom and a pink sash along the middle. Most of all Eon looked at her eyes; she wasn't lying, or being delusional or the sort. She really did have a lead. With a tad of a stubborn glint in her at at Pansy having known what'd unfailingly catch her attention, Eon blinked, uttering a single "Amazing" before turning back. The way she said it made it seem as if she didn't care, but upon looking at the rejuvinated skip and speed in her step, anybody would be able to see otherwise.

If it had simply been Eon and Erin on the trip no doubt most of it would have gone in silence. But Seron was with them. And Seron, as anybody who knew him knew, was not at all the sort of person to walk in silence. Even with the threat of monsters around.

"What's Embrace's specialty?"

The question was directed at Erin. Seron's ever changing gaze fell on her as they began to move, and, hand toying with his hair (which was very soft and smelt suspiciously of coconut), jogged to ahead a bit to match paces with her. Eon was a great friend; he loved the girl, honestly. But it was nice to have somebody who'd talk every once in a while along too.

Though not very talkative, Eon seemed to be on board with the lead, so that was good. Erin noticed the subtle increase in the girl's pace signifying that she was definitely in a hurry to execute the plan, granted Erin definitely felt the same way. The sooner they got things taken care of, the better. The herbalist kept her wits about her and her ears open in the case that the trees or plants had something important to whisper to her. A question, however, robbed her of her concentration. It was posed by Seron who seemed to be the most talkative of the trio. Erin smiled slightly. She never had problems socializing with others, and Seron had already proven himself to be quite enjoyable company. Turned out he was curious as to Embrace's specialty.

"Well, Embrace is surrounded by an evergreen forest known as Embrace Forest," Erin explained lightly. "Our trees are pretty healthy year round and grow at decent rates. As such, lumber is pretty big in our area, not to mention the wide variety of herbs and the like that can only be found there. Rustic Forest and Expanse Forest have plenty of interesting plants, but some herbs you can only get in Embrace. Other than that, it's just a little town with not much going on. The people there are hard workers--the spend a lot of time in the woods. Well, at least the hunters and lumberjacks do. And the apothecaries and herbalists such as myself." There was just a smidgeon of pride in her voice when she mentioned the herbalists. "You mentioned you were from Salvia, but you don't look like an aristocrat," she offered her observation which she had intended to keep to herself. "No offense intended of course."

Seron fell into pace beside Erin, head cocked attentively, though his eyes were completely elsewhere. The antics of those amber orbs drove quite a few crazy; but it didn't take too much in depth reading to tell when he was listening and when he wasn't. This was one of those times where he was listening.
And so the man listened to the herbalist, painting a picture in his mind of tightly woven trees and a hard, nature-conscious society with herbal smells in the air, and cozy forests on either side. As with most places he wanted to go there; almost instantly. Had it just been he and Eon back before what happened they'd be running, sprinting, laughing out of breath towards the next destination. He wanted to see the world.
All of it, except for one place.
This place that Erin indirectly brought up in her next question.

An instant blush settled across his face, which he turned his head to hide, staring instead at his feet. Real men didn't blush so easily.

"None taken. I don't really look like my parents at all! Mum and Pa say I take after my Nana Jade. But my Nana says I look a lot like my Pa did at my age."

He laughed a bit now, not forced, but less than usual. "She says we had the same speech quirks too. Never could pronounce my R's".
This evoked another blush.

"When I was super tiny I could never pronounce Straton that right way, so I'd call my Pa Swaton instead. Now I just call 'im Swat".

The man chuckled, ableit nervously, as if he was remembering some fond memory of his family.

As the foliage grew thicker and the path grew narrower, Eon was forced to walk more or less alongside Seron and Erin to avoid having branches slam them in the faces. Though, quite honestly, that could've been a hoot.
After a while of walking ahead of them she fell alongside Seron, still silent as ever, feet seeming to not even touch the ground.

He spoke of his family with such ease...it made her smile, actually. Just a hint of a smile. Just a tiny one. She knew how much hell they'd put him through. It was nice to see him able to laugh about everything; even if just a little bit.

........................wait, what?

Must've been something in the Potion.

One of Erin's eyes twitched as Seron finished his spiel regarding his family. There was something off about the name he mentioned. What was it? It sounded so familiar to her. Who do I know that has a name like that? she asked herself in her mind as she kept pacing along. There was an awkward silence as she thought. A cold breeze picked up and she shivered a bit. The trees kept whispering to her; the mandragora were on the move and were soon to enact their plots of revenge. They enlisted the help of the golden sprites--faeries who so loved creatures like mandragora, mandrakes, and other enchanted flora. However, Erin wasn't interested in the plans of less tan intelligent creatures at the moment. Eventually, the realization donned on her.

"Wait a minute...Straton? Straton Norcal? As in the Prime Minister of Valresch?! THAT'S your father?" she inquired in disbelief. Not only did this fellow not look like an aristocrat, but he looked even further from a child of the Prime Minister himself. What was Prime Minister Norcal's son doing just roaming about searching for witches? Wishes are grand and all, but...what could he possibly ask the witch for? He could practically have anything he wanted! The thought definitely didn't register, but first she had to wait for his affirmation. If he said yes, then the chaos in her mind could start up again. For now, she awaited his answer, the trees still insistent on them being careful.

Eon listened, a tad aloof, to the conversation. She'd always been more of a listener than a talker in any situation, mostly because she was almost no good at talking. She talked to her notebook quite eloquently in a flow of writing and-

Wait. Her notebook.

Eon felt gingerly at the pockets of her cargos as she walked, in the meanwhile taking pleasure in watching Erin's face slowly change as recognition donned on her. Seron was watching too, blushing of course, but with a hint of cocky amusement.
After so long she herself had seen so many people's reactions that it no longer effected her much. But it was still fun to watch. And Seron obviously hadn't grown tired of it.

Eventually her fingers curled around a comforting square shape. Eon sighed to herself, a bit of anxiety evaporating.

Seron laughed as he watched her facial expression change, kicking up the autumn leaves quite as playfully as a puppy and quite as noisily as an elephant tromping through the forest. The man blushed, scratching his head.

"Yup. That's my Pa".

Shooing away a million unwanted thoughts, Seron laughed, trying to keep his attention trained on Erin and Eon.

This was unbelievable, and yet Seron didn't seem the type to lie about such a thing, not to mention he actually seemed embarrassed about the ordeal. Erin kept silent, and so they moved on in silence as she mulled over this new tidbit of knowledge. Standing with her and traveling with her was the son of the Prime Minister. There was no doubt that she would want to spread the news to the people in Embrace, but it seemed as though Seron wished to keep the fact hidden, or at least mostly obscured. Assuming this, she decided to stay tight-lipped regarding that fact. Oddly enough, the breeze died down and the air became eerily...still. The path was widening quite a bit and the trees were become more spread apart now that they had traveled some more with Erin still not responding. It was safe to say that she was still fairly shocked, and she hated being caught so off guard. "Well, I have to say this is an interesting turn of events," Erin finally said, carefully articulating each word in the statement. "I'd like to talk about it more, but I've ignored the warnings for too long. It seems we have company." She came to a stop and pointed directly in front of her.

From out of some bushes bordering the path, two mandragora shot out and blocked the path. Giggling could be heard resounding through the area, and in twin flashes of golden light, two sprites appeared flying in the air. They were rather small as most faeries were, their skin white and flawless like snow. They wore little orange dresses with jagged hems that made it seem like they had been ripped. Their eyes were soft, yet held a great sense of mischief, their irises being a light blue in color. Both had long blonde hair, and out of their backs were translucent, glittery wings that flapped furiously as they hovered in the air. They said nothing but both shot an accusing finger at the trio whilst the mandragora stomped the ground angrily, makeshift snarls on their faces.

"The plants tell me that the sprites are gifted healers and magicians. Be wary," Erin cautioned her allies as she waved a hand causing a single vine to shoot up in a flash from the soil next to her. And so the revenge attempt was being put into play, but Erin wasn't about to succumb to the tantrum of some enchanted flora and woodland faeries.

Eon passed silently over the fallen autumn leaves, fingering the small book in her pocket now more intensely than she listened to the conversation of the other two. It'd been a while since she'd written anything in it, considering how she usually wrote. With a touch of immediateness, an overwhelming feeling of a spring coiling poked at the girl's gut. Her shoulders tensed. Her fingers twitched.

Words tried to escape through the tips...with a small grimace and rub of pixie cut out of her eyes she was forced to hold them back, just barely, with promises of coming release.

"The plants tell me that the sprites are gifted healers and magicians. Be wary,"

Erin's voice snapped Eon out of her thoughts now, shattering her trance. Upon looking up she stopped abruptly, taking a rough and obviously panicked step backwards before she could stop herself.
Monsters. Those she didn't mind.

Mandragora.
Those she'd just had a fresh, rather unpleasant experience with.

Nobody saw that...

Eon frowned, eyes narrowing, as if forcing a personal challenge over the leaf-monsters. Ha. Her. Scared. No way.
No way.
[Eon] starts at [J-6]

Seron took a step in front of Erin when the monsters were mentioned, something flashing through his eyes. Something like...anticipation, at some great enjoyment about to be had.
But upon seeing Eon flinch back his expression obviously changed. Something akin to anger. Vengence. His jaw set, and a smolder that seemed almost scary with such fiery eyes overtook his face.
Those things were going to pay.....

Erin sighed and navigated her way around Seron. Both of her companions were silent as they readied themselves for another fight with the forest creatures, and Seron decided to block her way. When would he learn that she wasn't one that needed protecting? She would have considered it an insult if she didn't appreciate the gesture. Dashing forth a couple of yards, she came to a stop and waved a hand out at the nearest mandragora. A vine shot out of the ground in front of it and cracked against its body like a whip before shooting back into the soil. She let her body loosen up a bit; she didn't feel particularly threatened. The sprites would be dangerous, but she felt the mandragora would be nothing more than mere nuisances. "Let's try and take them out one at a time. If we keep our attacks spread out, they'll be easier for the sprites to heal," Erin advised, keeping her eyes sharp as she gazed out over the enemies. Monsters had varying intelligence. Mandragora were pretty low on the list, only capable of planning to a small degree such that most of their schemes are laughable. Sprites were much more intelligent, but they weren't hostile spirits typically. Only when nature was threatened would they ever interfere. It wouldn't be them making the first move. When they attacked, it was nearly always in retaliation to some heinous act that put the plants or wildlife at risk. Erin could appreciate their prerogative and vigor, but the mandragora had been the first to make a move against them, so where was the justice? They had only defended themselves, so the blame shouldn't be theirs to take. Now Erin would have to prove to these monsters that they were way in over their heads.

Eon mumbled something incomprehensible under her breath, sounding like French. A sudden chill passed through her body; the girl shuddered, image flickering like that of a crappy projector.
Get this over with....
A sudden feeling of rage welled up in her throat, eyes narrowed. These things were standing in between her and her sister. She'd make pine mulch of them.

That was pretty much what Erin was afraid of. The sprites were definitely proving themselves not to be deadweight as one lashed out by manipulating light to blast Seron while the other treated the wounds of the severely injured mandragora. The mandragoras were hardly a threat as she had anticipated, but the sprites were really something else. They were skilled in magic which was always a dangerous force to be reckoned with. Her two traveling partners seemed to be keen on following her plan, and hopefully they would continue to follow through with it. Focusing on the mandragora that she had attacked before, she touched her necklace gingerly and the vine slithered back into the ground, shooting up and smacking the mandragora suddenly before returning to Erin's side. If they kept their attacks strong and steady, they'd be done in a matter of minutes most likely. "Let's pick up the pace, fellas," Erin said to her companions with a smirk. They were doing just fine; it was more of a joke really. She knew Seron would be more than willing to show off his strength. Such a dependable guy, she thought in a mock-dreamy tone. She had to hold back a snicker as a result. It was a good thing he was so predictable--it made him, as much as she hated to say it, easy to manipulate. She would never do anything bad with that flaw of his; she only wanted the best for the guy. They all needed to find the witch for some reason or another. A common goal. Still, Eon was the complete opposite of Seron, it seemed. Completely unpredictable. Dangerous, almost. But Erin wasn't worried. There was a heart in that girl somewhere; she had shown that in very subtle ways since they met not too long ago. It made Erin curious to see how the girl would react in other situations that would surely bear down upon them as they continued their hunt for the witch.

A sudden, dazzling light flooded Eon's vision, leaving everything dark for a moment and rendering the girl's midnight blue eyes sightless. Agh!
She swayed a bit, finding it hard to regain balance without sight. A surge of panic shot through her veins, riding on stallions of fury. Where had that even come from?!
Swearing, Eon struck out, blinking rapidly, a red-hazed blurry image of the fight unfolding before her. It was...still alive?! God...
How could they ever expect to get to the witch if they had to stop and fight tree stumps and butterflies every few seconds?!
An uncharacteristic anger made her eyes nearly smolder, a faint, eerie glow coming from them.

Eon Waits

Seron merely laughed as the mandragora struck out at him, wincing away a bit from the sprite only to come back with a determined smile. When he was fighting, he felt like he could do anything. Perhaps even to a fault, but, of course, not one that he would recognize.
"You know-"
He cast a shot side-long glance at Erin and Eon, grinning, taking aim at the Mandragora in front of him. It looked as if they had that one covered.
"If you really wanted to just sit back and relax-"
His muscles tensed, body hyped up on testosterone and who knows what else. "I could totally fight for everyone".
Suddenly there was a familiar flash, and Seron reflexively almost covered his eyes. But it hadn't been aimed at him.
His eyes became set; determined. A small, perhaps annoyed frown crossed his face, as if he'd been playing with the monsters before and now they'd crossed the line.

An unexplained heat shot through his body. Seron actually shuddered, every bone in his being feeling unbearably hot, and especially in his feet. Was this an attack? He lashed out at the mandragora in front of him, burning with something akin to fever. Not a word was spoken about the discomfort, but anybody could tell; his eyes had gotten feverishly brighter, a small bit of sweat forming on his brow, and the temperature immediately around him having risen considerably.

Yes, that was just about what Erin expected from Seron. Keeping a light smile upon her face, she walked around the guy until she was standing next to him and behind a tree that happened to get in the way. She fished around in one of her pouches and pulled out a small jar of green liquid that looked like it had the consistency of water. Handing it over to Seron, she noticed the guy looked really hot even though the air was chill in the forest. Was that...was that sweat? She raised an eyebrow and tried to get his attention. "All right, big shot, you can have your way with them. Just take this first and be careful, okay?" she remarked slyly. From her vantage point, her vine couldn't reach any of the remaining creatures that barred their path. She figured it was great that Seron had spoken up so brazenly, aiming to finish off the rest of the fodder on his own. That way, she could use that and play it off as if she were letting him do whatever whereas in truth, she needed a few more seconds to find a better spot from which to attack. She hoped that this would finally clear up their little feud with the mandragoras so they could get out of the forest and across the Winterlands. It had been weeks since she was in Embrace, and her parents were probably extremely worried about her, especially since Vincent hadn't returned either. I hope that they don't think we eloped or something crazy like that, she thought, blushing fiercely such that she had to turn her head to try and hide it.

Eon noticed one of the sprites approaching her out of the corner of her eye, giggling and snapping and muttering some sort of incantation. Oh, hell no. The girl growled at the sprite, eyes starting to glow like that of a piercing eerie flashlight. An invisible sort of fog seemed to filter through the rays they gave off, growling getting louder, girl rising slightly off of the ground, and the faint cries of tormented voices replacing the whisper of the wind. Her body flickered.
The sprite gave a high-pitched, sprite-ly cry, stumbling backwards in fear so fast that it hurt itself. Eon grinned smugly, blinking, and her body turned back to normal in seconds, as if everything had been a hallucination.

The girl cast a sidelong glance at Seron, eyes picking up on the movement beside her. It was a struggle not to look surprised.
She'd noticed the air had gotten warmer, but Seron was literally....it looked like he was smoldering, like an ember. His skin had reddened; the sort of red you get when you press a flashlight up to your body. Eon frowned, narrowing her eyes at the nearest sprite, accusingly. Having Seron spontaneously combust was going to help them in no way.

Seron hid a frown and took the bottle, trying to look as if he was doing Erin a favor and less like he actually needed it. He more or less succeeded when the bottle touched his fingers; it sizzled slightly, and, finally caving into how unbearably hot he'd gotten, he splashed the liquid over his face. Small tails of vapor began to raise from his hair.
Strong spell-casters, these sprites. Whatever this was was...tough.
He muttered under his breath, panting slightly. "Not tougher than me though".

The guy lashed out at the nearest Sprite, moving so fast that he almost tripped over himself. It felt like he was walking on air, made lightheaded by the heat within. In a flash he'd attacked the thing, aiming for a kick in the face. There was a flash of light, but he felt so amazingly...he felt so free that he barely realized it. In the next second he was on the other side of the thing, lashing out again.

Erin watched as her allies leapt into action in an attempt to put down one of the annoying sprites, however, the nearby tree warned her that the mandragora was approaching. Turning her head and looking down, she noticed the plant monster right by her feet with a claw raised. The herbalist remained unfazed as it tried to tear through her dress to hardly any avail. She didn't really feel anything. "Hmm..." she said in a disappointed tone before leaping back a bit, her necklace glowing. A thick vine beckoned to her call and shot out of the ground to strike the brazen mandragora before retracting into the ground and shooting up right next to its master. Even with the unharmed sprite healing the frightened one, Erin knew it didn't have much longer to go. "As long as we continue to pursue these creatures, we will find ourselves triumphant quite soon. Hopefully they'll know their place and won't come hunting for us anymore, even though we're almost out of the forest," she spoke aloud, mostly to herself. Her companions had the right idea and they were proving to be extraordinarily capable which probably came as a result of traveling all the way here from somewhere near the capitol. It was definitely impressive. Makes me feel a bit lackluster. I need to start making more out of my herbs, Erin thought absently as she began to evaluate her own abilities, putting them into question. Back in Embrace, she didn't do a lot of fighting. She left that to the hunters in the village. Now that she would be exploring, she would need to up the ante a bit. And up it I shall, she thought with a delighted smirk upon her face, keeping her eyes trained on the mandragora before her.

Seron growled, putting his wonder at the hot feeling felt aside. Whatever it was, it was helping him, and he intended to show it off; maybe do some good with it while he was at it. Try to get away? Oh, no it didn't!

The boy leapt forward, driven by a heat that filled his blood, lashing out at the Sprite with amazing speed. Still pumped he then moved to the next, grinning wildly.

Fiercely dodging around the tree, Erin looked down at the measly scratch the mandragora had managed to inflict upon her. It wasn't anything worth trifling over, and despite the others taking tidbits of damage, they seemed relatively fine as well. Snapping her fingers, one of the thick vines snaked into the ground and rose right next to the mandragora, snapping back at it in retaliation to it's previous strike against Erin. The herbalist lightly scolded herself for being so vain and absent-minded. Sure, she wanted time to practice putting her herbs to better use, but in the heat of a serious fight wasn't the time nor place. I have to take things one step at a time. I guess I've changed since Vincent left, Erin thought firmly, actually realizing for the first time since she had made it to Autumn's Trace that it had been weeks since Vincent had been spirited away with the witch to only the gods knew where. Time hadn't meant much in her catatonic state on the steps of the witch's old cabin. Every second without her best friend was an empty second. She placed a hand subconsciously over her heart before sparing a glance towards Eon and Seron. There was a definite sentiment that she felt towards the duo. She was almost glad they had come along. Thinking about it, she realized that it would have been horrible for her to take this journey alone. Anyone from Embrace could have accompanied her, but for these two to chance upon the cabin--it was almost as if they were fated to travel the country in search of the witch. All that was left now was to fight on with renewed vigor, and perhaps they would all get the happy endings they deserved.

Every tales has a struggle...ours has just begun.
