Jake awoke in a classroom lab, having been up late the previous night, doing an extra-credit experiment. "Shit...what time is it?" He said, before looking at his watch: 8:13 AM. Huh, wasn't that late. It then occurred to him that today was Saturday, and he had no classes today.

With a stretch, he got up, removing his lab coat, before leaving the classroom lab. He was in the mood for some coffee.

Kleis sprang out of bed, wide awake. The alarm clock on her night stand read eight o'clock; Gramps was probably already awake, making tea. Well, she either had to do chores or get out of the house, else he'll yell at her for being lazy again. She pulled on a tank top, jacket, and shorts, not really caring if she looked like a mess. Making sure that Flavio's dagger was concealed in her jacket, she headed out to get some breakfast.

Clue held her breath and squirmed in delight, letting the pleasure and the sweetness of the peach flood her senses, a small bit of juice smeared on her cheek. The smell of sticky fruit filled her nose, and she could feel the cool flesh against her palms.
Best school day ever. She should really skip more often, though it made her feel sort of bad.

The girl sat at the top of a hill, her honey brown eyes gazing down upon the city, small fingers gripping the grass below her. Reach Park was as close as you could get to nature in such a big city. She loved it here, though, of course, she loved the city too. There was so much to do, and then so much to explore. Occasionally people took her money, but she figured they probably needed it more than she, so she had no problem with it.

Clue smiled, wiping the rest of the peach off of her lips with the back of her hand and spitting the pit out down the hill. It rolled away and she watched it, eyes dancing, as it disappeared into the undergrowth. Peaches were the best.

Above her the sun was shining, clouds floating lazily through the sky. Now she watched them, laying on her back and trying to figure out what each looked like. Her bird vessel flute, the one usually draped around her neck, was stuck carelessly halfway into her mouth. Every now and then she'd puff out a few smooth notes, feet dabbling in the air.

Jake walked towards Reach Park, in order to get some fresh air. Being inside all day was not good for one's health, and he made it a point to come out here every weekend, to relax. He brought his hands up to the small chain he wore, gripping a small device on it. No...there are people around... He thought, seeing some kids playing nearby, and a girl laying down in the grass.

Clue ran a hand through her fluffy, wild black and blue hair, a small smile playing on her lips. Even with all the people around the park was never particularly loud. Every bit of it held good memories for her. That is...except for the playground. She'd never go back to the playground. A small drip of sweat formed on her brow, and she felt she could taste sand in her mouth.
Only in her head.

A small itch spread across her ankle and the girl sat up, scratching at it lazily with her toes, shoes off someplace in the distance. Maybe she should go get them. Her roomate would kill her if she lost another pair of shoes...

After getting a cup of coffee and a cinnamon scone from the local café, Kleis headed to the park. It was a fine day, and she liked eating outdoors. She sat down on the bench and added her own special "ingredient" to her coffee, scanning around to make sure no one saw. She casually nibbled on her scone, trying to not look suspicious at all.

Jake was sipping from a cup of coffee he got, when he suddenly came across a pair of shoes. "What the...?" He said, starring at them. Did someone lose their shoes?

"O-oh! Th-those are m-mine".

Clue trotted over to somebody standing by her shoes, blushing furiously, her heart just about to beat out of her chest. Social Anxiety has made her awkward around people she didn't know; in fact, at least in terms of the disorder, people terrified her. She hoped she wasn't bothering the guy. But she didn't want him to take her shoes...unless he really needed them.

The girl's eyes looked away shyly, gold rimmed and all the colors of autumn leaves. Where to look; first problem when talking to people. Quietly, quickly, and with an obvious gentle movement, she bent over and scooped up her shoes.

"Sorry".

Hugging them to her chest she turned back around, bouncing on the balls of her feet.

"Um hey, wait." Jake said, before she could completely run off, having been caught a little off-guard by the girl. She looked kinda nervous when she tried talking to him, and for some reason, when he saw her eyes, he had been reminded of falling leaves in the middle of Autumn.

Kleis noticed the younger girl run up to the man for her shoes. What a strange girl. Then again, she couldn't really say anything about herself. She pulled out her phone and spied on the two by looking at their reflections. What a pair of nice faces.
She took a sip of her coffee and suddenly started a massive coughing fit. She didn't know that it was gonna be that hot, and her little special ingredient made it even hotter. She quickly tried to regain her composure, somewhat succeeding, but still coughing her throat out.

"Mmm?"

Clue turned back to face the boy, eyes glancing briefly at his face before looking away again, as if she was sure he'd judge her wrongly should she look for even more of a second. Her shoes were in one hand, the other rubbing nervously against her thigh.
She didn't mind talking; she just...she was kind of scared...

"Are you ok, you seem a little nervous about something?" He asked the girl. When she had stared at him again, her eyes once again brought thoughts of Autumn to his mind. It was quite fascinating really, as he had never seen someone with eyes like that, ever before.

Clue felt her breath freeze in her throat, eyes widening, her cheeks hot. He probably thought she was kind of weird. Not that she minded being weird of course; she knew she was weird and she loved it. It was the being so awkward that scared her.

"Oh, I'm just..."
She laughed a little, cutely blinking and running a hand through her hair. If this were an anime she'd have a sweatdrop by her head.
"I'm just kinda shy I guess".
That was the best way she could explain it anywho.

"I, uhm...I-"
Clue wracked her brain for something else to say, face getting hotter and hotter. The words came easily all of a sudden, forcing their way out of her mouth.

"Do you have a cough drop?"

The feeling one was relevant hit her like a truck, even if she couldn't explain it. Oh, Clue. She was so random. But sure enough a girl started coughing nearby; choking, almost. Clue glanced over her shoulder, blushing again. She wanted to help but she didn't know what to do. And that feeling...she'd felt what was going to happen again. It'd been happening lately...and it was weirding her out.

"Ah, I see." Jake said, a look of understanding on his face. It was then she asked the random question, causing Jake to be confused for a second. He then noticed the girl coughing nearby, and understood. "No, but there is a small mini-mart nearby that probably has some, we could probably find some for her there." He said, wanting to help the girl as well

Kleis could overhear them talking about her, so she got up, took her scone and coffee and walked away, still coughing. She only added a little drop, but the drug still did a number on her. She'll have to finish it later. She continued to spy on them with her phone, making it look like she was texting someone.

Clue watched her walk away and smiled, her eyes genuinely seeming to glow for a bit.
"She'll be fine" she said matter-of-factly, then shyly looking at the ground again and scratching at her ankle with her toes. Wow. She was really talking to somebody. Actually communicating. Sure, she wasn't amazing at it, but she felt like she'd made a friend.
Or maybe she hadn't.
She'd always been so quick to consider people friends.

"So..uh..."
She smiled, chewing on her bottom lip and swaying a bit. "What's your name?"

Clue swallowed, anxious. So much for communicating.

"I see." Jake said, glad the girl was alright, as well. "I'm Jacob Herring, but you can just call me Jake." The young man said with a smile, introducing himself to the girl. "What's your name?"

Clue almost squealed in delight, proud of her...social?...oh, nevermind. She blinked, tugging on the bottom of her sweater.

"Clueless. Er...Bliss. Most people just call me Clue..."

"Clue, huh...?" Jake said. What an unusual name... The young man thought, before responding to the young woman. "Well it's nice to met you then, Clue."

"REALLY?!"

Clue's jaw dropped, and her eyes clearly portrayed her surprise. He was glad to meet her? She didn't think she'd met anyone that thought that before. Usually she was just weird or laughed at or people pitied her for how awkward she was. Had she just made a friend?
She was quite quick to consider people friends.
She really needed to work on that.

The girl blinked, gripping the shoes in her hand tighter and offering a shy smile.

"Nice to meet you too...uh..Jake".

Jake smiled at the girl. While she did seem to be a bit awkward, she seemed to be a perfectly nice young girl. "So Clue, did you come here to enjoy the nature as well?" He asked the girl.

Clue's eyes widened, and it looked like autumn blossoming inside of them. Bit of gold, red, yellow, orange, auburn; all the warm colors exploding in her irises.
She smiled hugely, awkwardness leaving her for a moment.

"Yes! There's not many places you can get it in the city, what with the...all the man stuff and all. I volunteer at the zoo but that's the only other time".

"Yes, I like to come here and enjoy nature occasionally as well." Jake said with a smile. "Oh, so you volunteer at the zoo, that sounds nice." The young man said, actually sounding very interested.

"By the way...how old are you?" He asked the girl.

Clue raised an eyebrow. She didn't see why it mattered, but hey; an actual conversation! She'd celebrate as soon as she got back to her apartment...

"Err...19".

"Ah, I see, wasn't really sure, so you're still a student, correct?" Jake asked the girl, enjoying the conversation. "I'm 22, myself."
