Reaching Salvation: Post-Acer Part 2

Erika wasn't sure about why the kids were doing this, but...

The woman began to glow a blue-green. "Mr. Hadden, I couldn't agree more."

The brunette lifted her arm up to the villagers. "Disarm if you can! CHARGE!"

In the next instant, the enemy was attacked by the very ground below them, as pillars shot up, holes appeared from under them, and the ground began to move from under them.

Joey dashed forward, firing a small blast of flow, that destroyed the shotgun, before kncoking the one who had been holding it unconsious with one blow, before quickly moving to the next opponent.

OOC: ...And this isn't even a warm-up.

Eithne rolled his eyes and sighed.

"How boring." He muttered as he and the 53 other members of the Illuminati stood watching outside the village.

Adeline sighed as a barrier formed around her. Some of the villagers quickly moved away, preferring not to become part of her barrier. She summoned a few spirits to try to possess some of the kids.

Kira glanced in the direction of the village, frowning. There was an oddly large amount of Flow over there again, today... It was probably just Nathan's Illuminati again. Nothing to worry about...

Luke had been moving from tree to tree, and was now perched at the edge of the forest.

What the hell is going on doing there?

He set off to find Kira.

Kira sat by the river, humming absentmindedly as she carefully washed her jacket. Over the years it had definitely gotten worn, but she did take good care of it. She paused for a moment, wondering why Luke was moving around the forest so much.

Luke arrived near the river, carefully clambering down from the tree, before moving over to Kira with a worried look on his face.

"Did you see what's happening in the village?" he asked.

"Um...There's a lot of Flow...I noticed that," Kira frowned, standing up and brushing off her dress. "D-Did something happen?"

"There's uh, a load of kids there, attacking the village. And there was a, uh, oh, what do you call those things, they're like big cars, make lots of noise? Used for offroad stuff?" Luke asked, floundering.

"A...c-car...?" Kira shuddered, reluctantly hanging her jacket over a tree branch. "I...I g-guess we sh-should go ch-check it out..."

"Like a car, but bigger, with a flat back. Can't figure out how they got the fuel, or how the hell they know how to drive it, if they're still kids at this stage," Luke said, mostly to himself.

"I-I-I'm s-sorry, I...I've o-only b-b-been i-in a r-real c-c-car once... I d-don't kn-know m-much a-a-ab-about th-them," Kira stuttered, starting to play with her hair anxiously. Why did Luke have to be so interested in the car of all things?

"Just odd I can't remember the word for it," Luke mumbled, following after Kira. Now he was really curious.

Kira stopped at the edge of the forest, looking anxiously over at Luke. While she did enjoy seeing him again, she wished that she didn't have to leave the forest so often.

"You coming with?" Luke asked, checking he had everything he needed to venture out, including a small heavy thing in a paper bag in his pocket.

Kira nodded slightly, not really wanting to be left alone with rampaging children on the loose.

"Sure you're okay with this?" Luke asked, remembering that he needed to get back into old habits.

Kira nodded again. "I-I-If th-they attack th-the forest..." she trailed off.

"Good point," he said, mentally berating himself for not thinking through the options. He was good at that in combat, but not in long-term combat. He was still a bit hot-headed, even after the tournament, he reflected.

"Let's go, then," he said as kindly as possible, making sure to lead the way, since he remembered Kira didn't like leading.

"O-Okay..." Kira mumbled, following closely after Luke. She didn't want to get separated from him, especially outside of her forest.

They continued on, Luke maintaining a wide berth from the Illuminati, while he kept his eyes focused on the town ahead, limping along steadily. When they drew near, Luke stopped.

"Guns and powerful Flows. What do you think we should do?" he said, cheeks turning red in embarrassment.

Kira frowned slightly upon seeing Luke turning red. She reached to check his temperature, before realizing how stupid that was. "A-Are you f-feeling sick o-or something...? M-Maybe w-we should j-just go back i-if you're n-not feeling well..."

"Uh, no, no, just a little..." here he trailed off, muttering a tiny 'ashamed' as quietly as he could manage.

Kira blinked, cocking her head to the side in confusion. "Of what...? D-Did I do s-something b-bad?" she asked, panicking a bit and turning a bit pink herself.
