Soul Eater

Daisy felt her meister stir, and woke with a yawn. "We there yet?" she asked groggily.

Alexander nodded. "You sure?"

"Eat up, Jimmy," Calyx said, pointing the naginata's blade towards the kishin egg so he could reach it easier.

"Y-Yeah," Lydian answered simply, looking out one of the windows of the plane.

"Go to sleep. You're going to need it." Alexander instructed.

James changed back to his normal form, and taking the kishin soul, before consuming it. 84 down...15 + 1 to go...

He then turned to his partner. "You did great, Lixie."

Calyx scowled at the nickname. "A low charge? C'mon, it was easy," she grinned, flipping her hair over her shoulder.

Lydian frowned, not really wanting to sleep. "O-Okay..." she responded, not wanting to argue either. She closed her eyes, waiting for the plane to take off.

"They could have just killed everyone in here..." Yueria then frowned. It didn't make sense to her...why target just one person, when they could get many more during the day.

"Ow!" Xavier exclaimed as his finger was bit down onto.

Alex closed his eyes as well, and soon fell asleep.

"Yeah..." Vincent responded, stretching, before turning to his weapon.

James smiled. "Glad to hear...anyways, now that we've gathered enough intel, we should prepare to head back."

"Fun." Daisy said, and stretched her arms.

"Stay away from my face," Abby teased absentmindedly.

"I dunno. I guess someone could have called the police on it if it had attacked in broad daylight. Yes it could've got more souls, but it would have been harder to make it out alive," Freddie guessed, gauging the distance from the opposite roof to the window.

"Aww..." Calyx sighed. She wanted to stay a while longer.

Lydian remained wide awake throughout most the flight. Her eyes flitted around anxiously as she tried to get a read on the other passengers.

"...You do realize that if we don't leave soon, it will be the next week by the time we get back?" James said.

"Pfft, I can't help it, it's just so damn beautify," Xavier said, poking her cheek again.

"True, true..." Yueria went over to see what he was looking at.

"Reckon a Kishin could jump that?" Freddie asked, pointing at the opposite roof.

"True, true," Abby said, trying to parry his finger with her hands.

"I reckon a Kishin could do it if they set their mind to it." Yueria answered her partner.

"Come on then, Sleeping Beauty, we're in Russia." Xavier said as he stood up.

"Yay," Abby replied excitedly, pulling on a hat and her jacket. It was snowing outside.

"My thoughts exactly," Freddie nodded. "So chances are it gets into building from the rooftops. First place to check, any place for a Kishin to lie low on the rooftops here. 'Course, this is New York, so there's a buttload of rooftops, but we'd be well off checking in between here and the first murder scene."

Xavier pulled on his gloves, having already pulled on his hat and coat, and went off the plane with luggage in hand. "Alright, Russia! The wonder team has arrived!"

"And also, a street with 47 in it?" Yueria also added in. "The first murder happened at 21st. This one, 34th."

Abby followed, shouldering her bag again and looking out at her surroundings with a smile.

"Lead on, mister Meister," she giggled.

"Good thinking. Or 28th street," Freddie added.

Xavier pulled out a sheet of paper, telling him the street that the first killing had taken place at. Then, he pulled out the translation book. "...How on Earth do you say these!?"

Yueria nodded at what Freddie had said. "Shall we?"

"Might as well just head up here, use the high rise as a vantage point to see the roofs around," Freddie shrugged.

"Doesn't it say the pronunciation beside the words?" Abby asked, peering over his shoulder again.

"Alright!" Yueria said.

Abby had to refrain from facepalming.

"Here, let me try," she offered.

Freddie headed up, the winds buffeting his light brown hair and blowing his rolled-up sleeves. He looked around at the roofs around, the roof he was on providing a good lookout.

Xaiver bowed his head in defeat as he handed over the book.

Yueria followed after him, the wind that was previously mentioned was blowing through her red hair. She was searching for something out of the ordinary...

"In the words of my mighty Meister, victory," the scythe replied, looking through the dictionary and, with great difficulty, successfully getting directions to the street.

"The roofs are pretty even around these parts, eh? Easy to jump around on, if you've got the kind of physical abilities Kishin can have," Freddie noted.

"Kiss my ass," Xavier snorted once she was done.
