Reaching Salvation: Post-Acer Part 4

Paul rolled his eyes. "Do you guys need me to pry it from her?" He called after.

"Unless you're considering breaking her whole hand, it won't pry off," Zackary warned the boy. "Take into account you also don't know what exactly her flow is. It might trigger by self defence."

"Well unless she has some nerve Flow I can more or less disable her ability to use her hand," Paul shrugged.

"Consider this," Zackary finished fastening his cloak around his neck. "Consider her flow being one to negate yours, or render your arms useless."

"Consider this," Paul rolled his eyes, "one slip of my mind and this place won't exist. I'm not dumb, I know the risks."

Kira whimpered at Paul and Zackary's bickering, carefully handing Sara over to the latter and backing up towards Luke, her hands shaking. Hearing Erika, she turned towards her, keeping her eyes on the ground. "F-Food..."

"Our dinner got burnt when we were getting the kid, so we were wondering if we could get something to eat here," Luke replied at least somewhat more politely than he was before. "And no, I don't think she needs to let go of the knife. It obviously means something to her, and she's not gong to do much damage while she's unconscious. Unless you're worried about when she wakes up, but I doubt a pre-teen girl poses much of a threat."

Erika rubbed her temples. "Alright. I'll show you to storage." The woman then looked over at Zackary and Paul. "Both of you please refrain from taking the girl's knife, wait until she wakes up, but be careful. We don't know what type of Flow she possesses."

Zackary shot Erika a wounded look. "Excuse me!? I was saying to NOT take it." he said. "I'm not an idiot."

"S-Sorry..." Kira mumbled to Erika, noticing the annoyed tone in her voice.

"It's fine, I've just been feeling a bit ill lately." Erika motioned to Kira and Luke to follow her before giving a pointed look at Zackary.

Sighing, Zackary glanced at the gate. "Love how I say not to do something, then I get lumped together with someone who wanted to do it." With his little piece said to himself, Zackary moved out of the gate and away from the village.

"I wasn't lumping you for God's sakes!" Erika yelled at Zackary. "I just am sick of hearing you two argue when I have a really bad headache and stomachache!"

"Well, you'll never have to hear me again," Zackary called out over his shoulder with a slight wave of his hand. "Been nice while it lasted."

"... Excuse me for a second." Erika said to Kira and Luke.

The back of Zackary's cloak was taken in a vice grip.

Something cut the cloak just above where it was grabbed. "Don't bother." Zackary said over his shoulder again. "I'm bored of this village."

"How?" Erika replied.

"So? I get bored easily." Zackary responded.

"Is this you or the winds talking?" Erika asked.

"Oh no, me, you kicked out because I didn't have full control over my adult level Flow," Zackary responded.

"Because I didn't want people to get hurt!" Erika exclaimed. "It had nothing to do with you personally!"

"Yes, of course. A slight breeze breaks houses, tosses people into the sky, ruins crops," Zackary responded calmly.

"You know what a slight breeze can turn into," Erika said. "We didn't know how your Flow had changed."

"Allow me to explain, thanks to a small accident, I now have three personalities, much like Joey. Two have the same child level flow, while the last is the real one, with an adult level one, which currently is attuned to my emotions. The more angry I get, the more the storm rages." Zackary said over his shoulder again. "The real one rarely ever decides to 'wake up' if you would. But, since we don't know when he'll wake up in a bad mood, be best if I leave."

Zackary felt his remaining cape being grabbed again.

"Don't go." Erika said, her voice suddenly growing small.
