Reaching Salvation: Post-Acer Part 4

"Paul won't be able to do anything if he's still asleep," Zackary responded to the girl.

"Well someone will wake him up," Kaylee shrugged invisibly, "Besides, Percival can always stop him if needed until Paul wakes up. People can manage, you know."

"Before everything goes down the shitter?" Zackary questioned, folding his arms.

"It's not like things can't be rebuilt," Kaylee, answered quietly.

"Lives lost from the destruction?" Zackary responded calmly.

Kaylee was silent.

"Just as I thought," Zackary said to the girl.

"You don't have to leave forever..." Kaylee whispered.

Zackary chuckled, and if he could see her, he would be rubbing her head. "Many people seem to think that."

"No they don't!" Kaylee exclaimed, "They just dont want you to wreak the village until they can think of how to not make you wreak the village."

"Which will never happen unless Zackary can control his adult level flow, But, he still has the mind of a child, and is rather quick to anger, and thus," Zackary said with a hand gesture. "If insulted, retreats. That was the second time he actually woke up."

"So..." Kaylee just let the words hang out.

"What?" Zackary asked as he closed his eyes. A small current of wind surrounded him, shooting dust lightly up into the air before it settled back down.

Kaylee sneezed as a little bit of it went up her nose. "I'm a little confused..."

"By what?" Zackary questioned, continuing to manipulate the wind slightly. Before he could sense Flows, this was how he located people.

"I-i don't know..." Kaylee whimpered.

Zackary frowned, but didn't say anymore.

"Yeah," Luke nodded, thinking. "I'd like that."

Kira smiled happily, small flowers growing around her feet, reflecting her mood. She turned towards Luke, hugging him tightly. "Th-Thank you!"

Luke was taken aback, but returned the hug, noticing himself being put into a good mood. It must be contagious.

"No worries," he replied, a little surprised.

Kira quickly let go of Luke, shoving her hands in her jacket pockets. "Mom and I were going t-to move North right b-before the St-St-Storm. She'd lived up there before..." she trailed off, before shaking her head and looking back up at Luke. "Wh-What about you? Did you have s-something you w-wanted to do before the St-St-Storm...?"

"I had tickets to a concert, actually, was looking forward to it," Luke reminisced. "I wanted to be a fireman when I grew up, just like my dad was. Well, at first I wanted to be a footballer, but then I wanted to be a fireman."

Kira giggled a bit, smiling slightly. "You'd make a great f-fireman," she told him, before frowning slightly as if struggling to remember. "I...I w-wanted to work with plants...I-I wasn't sure how, b-but...my m-mom worked in a greenhouse. I-I guess I got lucky th-that my Flow was something I-I was already familiar with."

"That explains how you know all of those plants then," Luke replied, thinking back to the tournament.

Kira nodded. "Th-There weren't a lot of plants around, s-so I researched th-them a lot... I-I probably spent more t-time doing that th-than school work..." she admitted, laughing a bit embarrassedly.
