The Sky is Falling (Apocalypse)

Plot:
What happens when the lights go out for good? On June 12th, 2010, at 11:20pm Eastern Standard Time, the Earth is hit my a freakishly massive Coronal Mass Ejection that wipes out all of Mankind's electricity based technology. It could only be described as a global EMP. The CME was massive enough that people around the world felt a searing pain all over their body.
When the pain subsided all hell broke loose. In New York City, planes began to fall from the sky and where they landed, explosions shook the ground and fire began to spread from building to building. Survivors grabbed what they could and began to make for what ever means of escape they could think of.
So anything that runs on electricity no longer works. Which means that cars can't start, flashlights don't work, water pressure can't be regulated etc etc. Not good news for an energy based society.

I'm also game! Interesting concept.
My character'll be a Software Designer who likes to go camping, a loved one died when the plug got pulled via the EMP. So he's taking the no tech thing incredibly hard.
