Reaching Salvation: Post-Acer

Kaylee shrugged, standing up and going visible to brush off the few bits of dirt that stuck to her...before going beet red and freezing. She had lost her clothes when she fell through Benji.

Benji glanced over at Kaylee, though he knew she couldn't get hurt, before his own face turned rather red. "Uh...uh..." he squeezed his eyes shut, his face burning as he grabbed Kaylee's clothes from the ground and went to hand them to her. "H-Here," he squeaked.

Kaylee just went invisible once the shock wore off, quickly grabbing her clothes and slipping them on. "Sh-sheesh, you'd think I'd be used to this by now.."

Benji didn't really say anything, though he did make a rather odd squeaking noise. He didn't really move, either. It appeared that Kaylee had broken him.

"Are...are you okay?" Kaylee asked, headtilting.

OOC: Benji's a bit emotionally undeveloped in this department. ;;

"Uh...uh...I-I should uh...go," Benji stuttered, only daring to open his eyes after he turned away and ran off.

"Aw, wonder what his problem was," Kaylee frowned, watching him go. She wasn't ugly, was she?

Benji finally stopped when he reached a tree, scrambling up amongst its branches for safety. So that was what a girl looked like. It was pretty embarrassing. It was probably better if he left, even if he did kind of want Kaylee around. She was kind of annoying, but she was nicer to him than most of the other people around here.

OOC: Rofl. He's lucky this is the apocalypse or he'd be shoved inside a locker or something. :L

Kaylee didn't really bother following. If he really wanted to be left alone then she'd leave him alone; no point in bothering the kid now that...that, had happened.

OOC: If the apocalypse hadn't happened, he'd probably be more emotionally developed.

Heidi hissed under her breath as she stormed around the village, trying to think of a safe way to blow off steam. It probably wouldn't be good for her to go kill some animals-- or at least that's what her rational side was saying, because then Mary would probably take over and the whole thing would go to hell. She supposed she could punch Joey in the face, but then he'd cry to Erika or drop her down a hole or something. Dammit.

She slammed her fist into the wall of a nearby building in frustration, yelping in pain as her fist connected with the stone. "Bloody hell!" she cursed, shaking her hand to numb the pain while she clotted the brand new scrapes on her hand.

Luke was struggling to make anything bigger than the small dragons and fairies he had made for Kira, something which was causing him much costernation. It puzzled him, he couldn't help but feel he could conjure more flame when he was crippled by Nathan and the Rebound Effect. What could be causing this sudden shortage?

A yelp of pain snapped him out of his reverie, and he looked up from where he was, which was sat on a small hill just outside the village and a bit away from the newly-wrecked Illuminati village. He wandered over, hands in his pockets, still flexing the knuckles on his now-healed arm. He saw Heidi, figured what the hell and spoke up.

"Looking to blow off some steam?" he guessed.

"Sounds fucking fantastic," Heidi growled in response as she turned to see Luke. A fight sounded good. Hopefully she wouldn't try to kill him, though she figured that he'd be capable of getting help if she did.

"Alright, grand," Luke replied after a minute. He couldn't help but wonder if she was in one of those bloodthirsty moods and whether this might be a little more lethal than he had anticipated. On the other hand, a life-threatening situation might stimulate his powers again.

Heidi grinned a bit maliciously, the scar on her face making it look rather eery. She walked away from the village a bit, taking her spear off her arm and forming it into her hand as she did so. She stopped after a while, holding her spear in her right hand and fishing one of the knives out of her pocket with her left. She rocked back on her heels, a thoughtful look crossing her face, before she reached behind her and cut off her ponytail, tossing it a ways. "There! You ready to get your ass kicked?"

"Think I might be," Luke muttered, more calm those days, getting into a fighting stance and gently raising his temperature. She did look quite scary, come to think of it-No! Snap out of it, he told himself, trying to get back into his fighter's mindset. But fighting wasn't good, he knew, he'd talked about it with Kira. That mindset had led to pyromania and pain. "Come and have a go then."

Heidi shrugged, before charging at Luke, dropping the knife back into her pocket to put more power behind her spear.

There was a small jet of fire at Luke's feet, propelling him into the air and over Heidi, where he tried to bring a kick down on her back. He could at least manage the small flames needed to move himself.

When it came to fighting, sight wasn't always a necessity for Heidi, and when she felt Luke (or rather his blood) jump behind her with an outstretched foot, she knew enough to get to the side. She stepped off to the right, holding out the shaft of her spear to hopefully catch Luke up on.

Luke tripped on the shaft of Heidi's spear, tumbling forward and pushing off the grass into a roll, just hoping he could get enough space so he could turn around without turning into the sharp end of her spear. He had fought Heidi once back in the tournament, but they had both been at completely different levels.

Heidi reached out towards Luke with her spear, really only hoping to get a scratch. Just like the old days, she thought, laughing to herself. She didn't really need the scratches anymore, not since she got her Flow back under control. But Luke wouldn't know that.

Luke jumped back nervously, the spear tearing through the fabric of his long-sleeved shirt. He couldn't help but wonder how her Flow had progressed, though his main train of thought was whether the scar Nathan had left would give Heidi an easy route to his bloodstream. He stuck his fist out for a blast of fire, hoping to give himself some breathing space, but all that came out was a jet of flame too narrow to be damaging, possibly even smaller than his tournament-level attacks, and certainly not adult-level.

Heidi jumped back, away from the flame, staring at it a bit confusedly for a second. She'd expected more, honestly. It almost made her want to stop fighting him. Almost. Instead, she darted around the jet of flames, reaching in again to scratch him.

Luke juked around the the spear, going to push Heidi over his outstretched foot in an effort to trip her. Damnit, damnit he could be in serious trouble. What the hell had happened to his fire? If this continued, and Heidi was as serious as he thought she was, he could be in trouble.
