Clang. The Halberd of the Eliphas clashed against a sword of a elf. The elf's face betrayed no emotion, as he pushed to shove the demon off of himself. All he did, was shift his stance to brace himself if the demon attacked again. The one the demon was attacking, might have been a Demon Hunter. He didn't care.

Why he was doing this, he wasn't too sure about. He briefly wondered why he was risking his own life, for what seemed to be a human.

Either way, he jumped forwards to engage the demon once again. His slimmer sword being quick, and sharp.

Gerard nodded, a dozen or so yards ahead of Sabriel. "They're at the location of the nearest sighting to two, just keeping heading west and you should reach them in a few minutes!" He yelled over his shoulder, weaving between towns folk, many of whom where staring at him oddly; not that he really cared much for their opinion.

"Take the Druid with you!" He added before disappearing down a side street in a blur, using basic parkour to clumsily scale the buildings as to get on the roofs so he could use Comet to travel from roof to roof without fear of obstruction or injuring a civilian.

He made it back to Blackthrone Inn in less than five seconds after he activated his spell, crashing through the door he made a mad dash for the bar. "Melody, where is the Ork?"

---

Eliphas hissed in blind fury as the Paladin appeared before her, blocking her path. Quickly doubling back, she made sure to put some distance between herself and this latest arrival. Such a Holy presence... it was sickening. The lapse in concentration brought on by the Paladins arrival caused her Blood Mist Chains to vanish into nothingness whilst her Bloody Flare rocketed off course, just missing Raven's face and all but vaporizing the tree behind her it eventually hit - as well as everything with a six foot radius.

"You should not have interfered!" Eliphas hissed, sinking into her feral crouch once more, glaring at the Paladin for spoiling her battle. His Holy Aura was a natural counter for one such as herself. To be near it was like drinking poison to her, it weakened her, cancelling out many of her Demonic Blessings - though not all of them, and she still had her natural abilities, so she was far from defeated, but the situation had just drastically changed. "You will die first, now," she snarled, pointing the blade of Balthazar at the Elf.

Spring forward she landed in front of the Paladin, her aura and killing intent strong enough to choke an ordinary person to death just by standing close to her. Swinging upwards with a screech, she aimed to cut the Elf in half into two halves, bisecting him diagonally from one side of his waist to his opposite shoulder. She would have to kill this Paladin as quickly as possible. "Die!"

---

OoC: Paladins are holy warriors, so it's only natural that the presence of one would act as a natural debuff for a powerful demon like Eliphas, or at least I think so. Holy Aura would be a passive ability all Paladins have, for future reference. So congrats, Ra, you just got a free power-up. Very Happy

"What is it?" Garin asked from behind Gerard, having somehow come up behind him without the sorcerer noticing. From the urgency in the magic-user's voice, it sounded like something happened. Oh, how he hoped it was a fight.

---

Raven had already been attempting to dodge, when the Paladin showed up, and deflected the blow to the side. She was now slightly relieved for two reasons, one; if he hadn't shown up just now, that attack probably would have fatally wounded her, and two; the Holy Aura that the elf gave off, that was present with all Paladins. The advantage was now in their favor.

Seeing the Blood Oath about to attack the elf, Raven immediately dashed to the side, giving her a better view, and decreasing the chance of the Paladin being hit by her next arrow, even though the chance had already been minuscule for her before. She fired another arrow at the Blood Oath, this one of a special supply of runed arrows she had gotten from a Dwarven friend of hers. It was a Minor Explosion Arrow, that she used to stun those in fully body armor, and/or Orks. Using them on anything else would just be a waste of a good arrow, when a regular one would have done.

---

OOC: Note: Garin somehow sneaking up on anybody, who isn't blind and death, is strictly Rule of Funny, and is very unlikely to happen in actual combat.

Sabriel noticed the blur out of the corner of her eyes, nodding relievedly when Gerard said that the Druid with come with her. Never hurt to have backup, especially if you were an archer and liked to have something or someone between you and your enemy at all time. She'd been told she was cowardly before, it had never really bothered her. Staying alive was her prerogative, not looking cool while she was being murdered.

She sprinted out of the city, still very quick even with her sword, knives and bow on her. She reckoned she knew where to go, and she'd relied on her memory before without being let down. She did, however, only had a rough idea of the streets, so she only had luck and general navigation skills to make sure she took the quickest route. While she wasn't sure how long it had taken, she soon made it out of the town.

Sprinting up from the village, it didn't take hugely long for her to find the site of the battle. She fired an arrow with lethal accuracy towards the head or throat of the Bloodkin Raven had already weakened. Before waiting to see if that hit, she stopped moving so quickly for greater accuracy. She drew another arrow, striking it off her wristguard to ignite the special arrowhead. She fired this one towards the Sworn One, aiming to get in the weaker parts directly beside where the armour protected. She could only hop it was sufficiently distracted.

The mage-human, to the wolf's disappointment, sped off somewhere it didn't quite catch; however it was clear he wanted the wolf to assist the elf. The elven were a naturally speedy kind (much more so than the humans, who the wolf could outrun while asleep), but the wolf kept up with her without much effort. The scent of the demons almost lured it away from the elf, but the wolf refrained from leaving her behind out of respect for the mage-human. Besides, the elf did not seem very confident, although she wasted no time approaching the battlefield. As they neared, the wolf noticed something weakening in the demons' aura, as if a powerful barrier was holding back the stench and foreboding. Amidst the evil and chaos consuming New Wellington, there was a small circle of tranquility. A High Elf, the wolf concluded with interested delight.

There he was, with the halberd and the long silver hair - unmistakably a High Elf. Two humans also fought the demons, although the High Elf's mere presence had the most effect. The wolf's companion jumped headlong into the battle, keeping a good distance between her enemies, and fired some arrows. The wolf itself was unwilling to show its power without good cause (as per orders). It merely ducked into the fray (a task made more difficult by its unusual size) and nipped at unfortunate limbs of whichever demon got in the way. This tactic, of course, was intended more to distract than maim, but the wolf's teeth weren't painless. The markings in its fur, remarkably, seemed to move as the wolf tumbled around.

Clang. The demon would have found its blow, blocked by the slim sword. And then, he slid the sword down the pole arm's handle, aiming to at least cut some fingers, if not to just scare the demon off. The demon had been telling him to die earlier, but he would not.
\
Why would he? There was no point in dying. Dying, was just the end of everything. He wasn't anywhere close to that point.

"You disgust me." Was all he said in reply to the demon.

"And you me..." Eliphas hissed, skidding back away from the Elf, eyes narrowed. The bastard had clipped her fingers, the only thing ensuring they all remained attached was her demonic hide. As a result of the Paladin forcing her back, the arrows that had been aimed at her now missed, acing wide and landing in the ground.

"New arrivals, kill them!" She roared as the explosion arrow went off, throwing up dirt and smoke for cover. One of the Bloodkin, heading the call, pulled away from the skirmish with Atra, leaving it to his two fellows to slay the annoying man whilst he jumped through, taking the hilt of his skeletal blade in both hands, aiming to cut the Ranger in half as he landed. Meanwhile, Eliphas' loyal Juggernaut bellowed in fury as it charged from nowhere, aiming to impale this wolf that had suddenly arrived upon its horn.

Taking the opportunity presented by the sudden arrival of these enemies that had no doubt thrown the others into confusion, she ducked through the smoke, using it to hide before emerging in front of Raven with a hiss of triumph, slashing upwards from her crouch yet again in attempt to bisect the Demon Hunter.

---

Melody, just pointed behind Gerard to where the Ork now stood with a bemused expression. Gerard turned his head and nodded. "Change in plans, we leave now. Keep up." And with a swish of his robes behind him, he was out the door before anyone else could really register what had happened.

But Raven was no more confused then the Blood Oath was. A simple scan of the area told her all she needed to know. Sabriel had found out about their situation, and had rushed to their aid, with an ally in tow. No doubt the wolf was actually a Druid.

When the Blood Oath disappeared, she knew who she was most likely to attack and was ready when she made her move. She jumped back, dodging the attack, and fired two Minor Explosion Arrows straight at it's chest, all while moving away as fast as possible.

---

Garin nodded, and dashed out after him, accidentally breaking the door-frame as he did. He may have been big, but that did not mean he was incredibly slow. She had no problem keeping up with the mage, all the while being a bit giddy to fight.

Chaos Theorem - Page 4 Empty Re: Chaos Theorem

Post by that fang Sun Oct 07, 2012 1:52 pm

The wolf, preoccupied with the battle and overwhelmed by the intense evil radiating from each demon, did not see the armored-beast descending and only reacted thanks to the battle cry the erupted from the monster's mouth. While a second too late, its reflexes saved the wolf from death; the beast's horn cut deeply into its side but stopped short of a fatal wound. Blood seeped into its fur, but the pain didn't stop the wolf from clambering up the beast's maw, over its head, and onto its back. As the demon moved, the wolf's claws sometimes sank into the beast's flesh to keep from falling; other times, they skittered harmlessly over the monster's armored back, leaving the wolf scrambling for balance.

It was here that the wolf finally got a good look at the entire battlefield. It scanned the area quickly, noting the location of the elf and the two demon hunters. The earth shook under the strain of the battle, and the wolf felt every quake within its body. The power of the combined demons was beyond the comprehension of the wolf, but it felt that being here at all, fighting to win, was wrong. While it was the first time the wolf had seen an armored-beast, and while it did not know the destruction one could inflict, the wolf could sense some small portion of its potential and knew that death for this beast was beyond it. Best case scenario would probably entail scaring the demons off, perhaps wounding the beast and its terrible rider in the process. If allies kept appearing, there was also the possibility of forcing the demons away through strength of numbers?

Eliphas screeched, louder than any scream before, loud enough to deafen most as the blast of one of Raven's arrows caught her face. Reeling backwards, hissing and spitting demonic profanities, the Sworn One removed one hand from her weapon, to clutch her face.

It was all that damn Paladin! Without his presence she wouldn't have even flinched at such an attack, but much of her power had been drained from his mere presence. It was a disgrace, her, a Sworn One wound by a Demon Hunter when three of her kind - all baring the title of Shamshel - had failed to even scratch her. Grinding to a halt, she moved her hand away from her face - a nasty burn scared her face, though thanks to her demonic endurance she still had both eyes intact. Snarling, she fired off another Bloody Flare at Raven, before ducking back into the fading smoke, returning to her battle with the Paladin, charging him with her shoulder to knock him off balance, form there she would behead him has he tried to regain it.

Meanwhile, her Juggernaut stead roared in outrage, bucking wildly as it tired to dislodge the wolf atop its back. Hissing furiously it charged for the tree line, hoping to slam into the trees, trapping the flailing animal between itself and a tree tuck, and crush it.

In the background two new circles of energy arose from the ground, figures cloaked and hooded in robes of brilliant purples and yellows arose from the flaming summoning seals. Cultists had arrived to reinforce the Demons.

The demon was blindly rushing at him now. The elf didn't do so much as budge as the demon came closer. He stepped off to the side, swinging his sword as he did so in a rather, bored fashion. Not really aiming to cut or kill the demon, just more like a madaor with a bull.

His cape swept behind him, as he once again turned to face the demon. His blank expression never failing to not change. Giving the impression he was looking down on the demon.

Chaos Theorem - Page 4 Empty Re: Chaos Theorem

The wolf, spotting the beast's destination amidst its thrashing, braced itself for a moment. Tendrils of white light materialized, spiraling around the wolf, eventually converging into the wolf's body and enveloping the wolf in a soft white glow. Except by then, there was no wolf, but a large bird with its beige head tucked under its speckled wings. Its talons ill-suited for holding its place on the monster, the newly formed gyrfalcon slipped off without much resistance; instead of falling to the ground, the bird spread its impressive five foot wingspan and took flight. Before it retreated, the gyrfalcon swooped down to try and slash the beast's eyes with its talons.

As it descended, dark streams of blood seemed to erupt from its chest and sides where the armored-beast had injured the wolf. The blood flowed much more freely with the disappearance of the tattoos on the druid's body. The gyrfalcon pulled away before the armored-beast could retaliate and flew wearily to the elf, settling on to the ground. Again the white light obscured the druid from view; when it dispersed the wolf had reappeared again. It whimpered, licking its wounds.

Sabriel, nocking an ice arrow and a poison arrow and firing them, hoping to stagger the demon since it was so close. She had a sword belted at her waist, but truth be told she wasn't confident going up against a Bloodkin at close quarters. The best she could hope for was that she could dodge his attacks and scratch him with one of her poisoned daggers. Of course, she wasn't too sure how poison affected bloodkin, but she could hope. Really she just wanted to kill the Sworn One. She might be able to loot something that would earn her a fair price back at the market, and rid her of the need to work for at least a short while.

Shouldering her bow as she moved away, she drew her short sword, sunlight glinting off the steel. She locked eyes with her opponent, straying only for a split second as the circles of energy appeared. Well, she had always wanted to learn more about Dark Cultists. If she could just survive the fight, it might prove to be very lucrative indeed. She noted the wolf's injuries with some consternation, wondering just how long it could last in a fight against the imposing Juggernaut.

Choosing the Ranger as it's first target, one of the Cultist summoned a Bloodkin to go after her. Once that was done, they began charging up their magic, an aura of shade flickering off their hands. A powerful shadow-attack was about to happen.

Noticing that newcomers were showing up now, Raven changed her targets to the lesser demons, firing two arrow, one at a different one. She was moving a bit a way from the enemy, but not too far. She was hoping for a double-headshot.

The Bloodkin that had charged Saberial could not dodge the attack whilst in mid air, and the force of two powerful impacting into its chest at short range knocked it back, sending it crashing to the ground. Spitting blood, the demon clambering to its feet, swinging its blade in blind fury as it tried to cut the one that had dared to injure it down. Hissing it left the arrows protruding from its chest - the only thing that mattered was killing the elf. Though its movement was noticeably slower and more sluggish, the poison just as effective as Bloodkin as an ordinary person - unlike his Sworn One master he was not embed with poison immunity.

The Juggernaut crashed into the closest tree with a roar, toppling over due to the momentum it had thrown itself at the tree with, bringing the old oak down with it. But in a moment it dragged itself back up, snarling as it turned to see where the wolf/bird-thing had fled. Seeing the transformation back into the wolf next to the elf, the feral demon carried in fury before charging forward leaping forward into the air, eyes alight with anger as it aimed to rip both wolf and elf asunder.

Only for something to crash into the beast, tearing straight through it. The Juggernaut for all its endurance and power could not stand up to the power of a raging Comet, Gerard had timed his attack perfectly, catching the beast mid jump, sending waves of blood and entrails everywhere as the battlefield was showered in a ran of blood and guts. Crashing to a halt behind Eliphas his eyes narrowed - there was indeed a Sworn One present.

"Eliphas the Blood Seer - Slayer of the Shamshel," he remarked, he'd heard enough tales of that legendary Halberd - Balthazar if he recalled correctly - to recognize it instantly. But he just carried on past her, heading straight for the Cultists instead, the Paladin had this under control and he didn't intend to through off his flow, he wasn't suited to fight Eliphas either. Garin was much better equipped for that job, "You, Raven, help me with the Cultists!" He ordered, ducking under Eliphas' swinging at him before carrying on to engage the new arrivals.

He jumped forward, swinging his staff at the shadow user, unleashing a brief blast of Tundra Steam sending the temperature plummeting to bellow zero before lashing out with a kick. Just as Raven's first arrow head shot the new Bloodkin. "Take the other one, I have this one under control!"

Eliphas just hissed, just more people to kill. But she was done playing with the Elf, he thought himself the faster of them, did he? Narrowing her eyes, she disappeared in a flash of her coat, appearing behind the Elf with only a swish of air, lashing out with her tale she knocked him off balance, before bringing her halberd down to strike again. Charging the blade with a unreleased Bloody Flare to amplify its power, she would kill him for sure this time.

Eliphas's attack was immediately interrupted by the attack of a charging and roaring Berserker Ork. He swung and slammed his BFS right into the Blood Oath, with enough force to send two dwarves flying.

Immediately, the cultist began feeling the effects of the Tundra Steam, but would not relent. She fired his shadow-magic attack on the fellow mage, just as he tried to kick her. A blast of darkness shooting out at Gerard.

Raven just smirked at her successful headshot, before smirking again at the arrival of more allies. It was rare for her to show emotion during a fight, but this was good news. Following the mage's advice, she took off to deal with the other Cultist, firing a Minor Explosion Arrow at them, while gracefully weaving through all the fighting.

Well, Garin just did about as much helping as he did harming. The elf had lost focus when the big dumbass ork came in yelling, The tail had yanked him off balance, and the halberd almost sunk down into his shoulder. Had not the dumbass somehow intercepted.

If there was one thing in the world this elf couldn't stand, it was orks. How hidious they were, how, unperfect they were. How...dumb they were. He had the demon perfectly under control, until he showed up.

What a dumbass.

Chaos Theorem - Page 4 Empty Re: Chaos Theorem

Post by The Nexerus Mon Oct 08, 2012 2:53 am

Atra was an oddity among Demon Hunters. His comrades took any opportunity to make note of this. It was something Atra accepted, and at times something he revelled in. In truth, though, the differences between Atra and the other Demon Hunters was minor. Besides his rather cavalier attitude towards his profession, he possessed only one trait that made him unique among most other Demon Hunters; he loved getting up close and personal. Whereas the vast majority of Demon Hunters would (perhaps wisely) choose to only engage Demons at a distance, Atra found it incredibly satisfying to look a Demon right in its soulless, bloodshot eyes as you ran a rapier through its neck. Maybe it was just him. Atra didn't care. He loved it, loved the prospect of getting a little blood splatter, whether or not he was alone in his melee blood-lust.

Atra's blade was drawn well before the first of the Bloodkin had finished screeching the word "Demon". Atra affectionately referred to his rapier as "Asthaine", the name of Atra's own mother. Atra was unsure if his merchant's-wife pacifist mother would approve of him naming his killing implements after her, but it wasn't as if she was around to complain any more anyway. Once the Bloodkin appeared around Atra and his new assistant, he took no pause to thin, of his mother or otherwise. It was foolish to act without thought, but it was equally foolish to think without action. Atra mused that the wise move was to compromise the two; to think whilst acting. It hadn't worked out poorly quite yet, so Atra figured it was a strategy worth repeating.

Articulating himself to be outside of his placement when the Bloodkin had began charging him, Atra quite easily moved out of the way of the initial attack. Claymores, or whatever the Demons called them, weren't exactly the most... refined, of tools, and were even easier to see coming than the glowing red giants that carried them. Once you made a movement with a claymore, you really didn't have any other choice but to carry through, and try again if you miss. Atra used the lumbering nature of that albeit monstrous weapon to his advantage. Rather than putting tremendous energy into a thrusting attack, he merely moved his rapier into the path of the flesh of one of the lesser Bloodkin, and stabbed only once the beast was in a position where he could not possibly avoid the strike. A stab with a rapier in the gut wasn't necessarily lethal against a Demon, but Raven's bolts flying through the air were sure to give the Demons reason to panic as well. The Demons had numbers on their side, but Atra was used to fighting alone. With Raven here, he was done with necessity and had passed onto luxury.

When the third, weakened Demon approached Atra from behind, screaming, Atra acted quickly. Pulling his blade with a measure of swiftness out of the red, Demonic flesh it'd just sunken into, Atra spinned to his open side, using the length of his blade to block any minor assault, and easily prepared to dodge any stronger attack depending on what this not-seen-but-heard third Demon had in its hands. Whilst avoiding the third Demon's attack, Atra caught from the glimpse of his eye that one of his original two attackers was now heading off to fight some other foe. Perhaps the pair of them, Atra and Raven, had been followed by someone...? "More arrivals at the party!" Atra shouted, loud enough for anyone in the vicinity to hear. Parrying the attack of the two Demons he was facing, Atra continued, "Afraid you're a little late to the festivities. But please, partake!".

Chaos Theorem - Page 4 Empty Re: Chaos Theorem

Post by Dobi Boshi Mon Oct 08, 2012 3:05 pm

Eliphas shrieked in fury, spitting viciously as she tore through the air, crash landing in a heap before tumbling back another few feet after the Ork had blindsided her. Narrowing her eyes, she flicked her wrist, causing a fresh group of Blood Mist Chains to erupt from the ground, hurtling for the lumbering Ork, wanting to tie him down whilst she dealt with the Paladin.

"Bloody Flare!" She roared again, firing off another one of her signature attacks at the Paladin, crouching into a leaping position as Balthazar glowed with another charging Bloody Flare, when the Paladin made to dodge she'd use her superior speed to get him mid movement, cutting him in half with a Bloody Flare enhanced swing - his Holy Aura and heavy armour would probably allow him to survive the blow given her current state, but it would leave him reeling at the very least - long enough for her to move in for the killing blow.

Gerard knew he couldn't dodge a Shadow Blast at short range; so he opted to activate his Onyx Skin instead, allowing the Shadow Blast to harmlessly bounce off of him before hurtling off to where the other cultist stood.

Hoping to press his advantage whilst he was pretty much indestructible, he swung his staff again, firing off another burst of Tundra Stream at the Cultists' chest. Afterwords, he dropped his Onyx Skin, least he drain himself too soon, moving to advance and engage the Cultist in close combat.

Atra had failed to kill the first Bloodkin that had assaulted him, but it had taken a few steps back, hissing in rage, before it charged to join its dying comrade in battle, watching the weakened Bloodkin fall to the wounds Atra caused it quickly, leaving the battle one one one.

Tossing aside its large blade aside, as it left it at a disadvantage in this battle, he advance on Atra, ducking and weaving in between any strikes he might aim it way, hoping to break the Demon Hunter with its bare hands.

Chaos Theorem - Page 4 Empty Re: Chaos Theorem

Sabriel used the time that making the demon fall over to back up, putting about ten meters between her and her foe. She flung a poisoned dagger at the demon's eyes as soon as it got up, not really expecting it to connect unless her opponent had lost more speed than she had expected from her poison. It was really only a distraction, and to further this end, she hurled down a small pouch, lighting the edge on fire as she did.

The pouch exploded, not really violently enough to harm anything bigger than a fox or thereabouts. It did, however, kick up a screen of sand, acting as a cover for her and obscuring her as she moved more to the side. The screen didn't really affect her too much, since the demon, enraged as it was, was making more than enough noise for her to know it's general location, and it was a reasonably large target.

Not wanting to give it a chance to recover, she fired another arrow into the cloud, keeping a hand on her short sword just in case. She knew not to underestimate a weakened foe.

The Bloodkin flew out of the sand screen at Sabriel, the poisoned dagger now sticking out of one of its eyes, snarling as it threw itself at the ranger. Like it's comrade locked in battle against Atra it had abandoned its blade no longer seeing any use for it - not to mentioned it could recover some of its lost speed without having to haul around such a large weapon. Brushing the arrow away with a backhand, the Bloodkin lashed out with one of its clawed hands, trying to strike at Sabriel's face.

Though furious, it wasn't stupid, and when the Bloodkin saw her hand on her blade, it pulled back out of its slashing attack, instead ripping the dagger out of its eyes and using it to try and stab Sabriel instead, on how humorous it would be if the beast could wound the annoying Elf with its own weapon!

---

In a location unknown, a large clear orb sat stationed on a little clawed pedestal in the middle of dimly lit stone room. Within the orb strange mist twisted and shifted form, display fragments of the events taking place at the battle site not far put of New Wellington. From somewhere in the darkness, a women watching the events unfold gave a throaty chuckle. Their actions were so pointless yet deliciously amusing to her. Try as they might it wouldn't matter in the end - though she was rather irked at how poorly Eliphas was handling herself. It's that damn Paladin, she conceded to herself with a sigh.

She couldn't afford to lose Eliphas just yet, and she suspected the Sworn One would not fallback of her own accord, meaning her intervention might soon be needed. But nonetheless, everything was still going just according to plan. An very soon that plan would go into its final stages, and the first objective in the grander scheme would soon be completed...

No matter how this played out from here, even if she lost this battle she'd win the war.

Sabriel ducked, taking the situation into account with a practised eye. She dove forward, evasive instincts honed from centuries of using them to ill ends. She reasoned that since the Bloodkin was slow, she should be able to evade being hit easily enough. On the off chance that it did hit her, it would be a nick, and she had the antidote to the potion on her anyway. The quiver on her back would protect her from most hits, she reckoned, but the tough leather scabbard would leave from her knees down exposed. Oh well, she reckoned she was able enough to withstand a hit them.

As she dove, she twisted, turning herself so that her scabbard and sheath were turned towards him, and her sword lashed at the back of the demon's knees, cutting at the joint of the demon's protection. She was aiming to cripple since she knew the attack couldn't kill. She hoped her momentum would keep her safe enough if it worked.

The attack hit the Cultist directly, frost spreading across over her robes, dampering her movement, while doing some damage. But she would not allow just this to stop her. She then summoned another Bloodkin behind the Sorcerer, before beginning to charge again. Foolish mage actually thought getting in close was a good idea.

Garin let put another roar, one of his jewels glowing momentarily, as the chains shot out. But they were too slow, as Garin had used his Great Charge jewel, to take off at great speed, avoiding the chains, and appearing next to Ephilas in less then two seconds, swinging his sword at the Blood Oath, using all the momentum of the charge to power the attack.

The elf sheathed his sword, since he was no longer needed for fighting this demon. Why would he bother to waste energy, when he would obviously get in the dumbass ork's way. He just stood back and kept away.

Orks sure were stupid, they just got in the way. He just stepped back from every single attack the demons would throw at him.

The nerves in the Bloodkin's knees were severed, meaning Sabriel's well place slash had crippled the beast. No longer of holding itself up right, the beast just crumpled in a heap on the ground hissing and screaming in rage - though it knew the end was near for it.

But defiant to the last, as all Bloodkin warriors were, the demon crawled around on the ground, trying to get a hold of Sabriel, hoping to cripple her like she had him. If he could just grasp one of her legs or any appendage for a mere moment he could put enough pressure into his grip to break whatever he got a gold of, seeing as he was too weak to crush her bones to powder now.

Gerard just smirked to himself behind his balaclava - the Cultist should have tried to run whilst she had the chance instead of wasting her last moments summoning another minion. In the blink of an eye he reactivated Comet, closing the gap between them in seconds, stretching out a hand, his palm slamming into the women's face before the both went hurtling into the nearest tree.
Gerard hand enough experience to make his timing and skidded to a halt just before he become a blood splatter across the tree trunk like the poor Cultist that had stood against him had. Sighing though, he turned to look over his shoulder; the Bloodkin she had summoned was still there and now he had to deal with it.

"Peachy," he murmured in annoyance.

At first her eyes had bugged at the realization that the Paladin was backing down, having only managed to step-back to avoid her latest attack, but he sheathed his blade! And almost instantly he could feel the Holy Aura weaken, the Paladin's killing intent fading away as he left the Ork to fight his battle for him. Screaming with blind glee, she felt his presence weaken enough for a good portion of her power to return, though his merely being near by prevented her from reaching full power.

Nonetheless she twisted into the Ork's on coming blow, Balthazar clashing against his blade with unrivaled force, the Ork's weapon cracking as he was knocked off balance and sent stumbling. Oh how her power felt good, back were it belonged! But she did not let up on the Ork's punishment, leaping into the air before hurtling back down, one hand outstretched she palmed the brutes face, forcing him to crash face first into the ground with an almighty crack as his armour groaned and dented under the force of the blow.

Though she didn't have time to play anymore, she decided, she needed to act before the Paladin rejoined the fray and drained her of much of her power again. Jumping away to the edge of the now rather large clearing the battle had created she buried the blade of Balthazar in the dirt, her spinning back around to fact the clashing side, hands aglow with dark forces. "Arise!" She hissed, another summoning circle roaring into life behind her, the blue flames flickering and rushing into the early noon sky as something arose from the portal, clambering out of the ground like some unholy ghoul.

But instead of a ravenous goal, there was instead something much worse. A hulking thing made of old stone that looked as though it had been thrown together in a hurry, rocks and boulders swirling around a large jade-like gem in what should have been the things chest. The thing was a lumbering giant compared to most of them, reaching about twelve and half feet, a jagged rock monstrosity with strangle shadow-like tendrils flickering out from mallet like fists. Screeching a strange buzzing sound, it lumbered forth, meaning to enter the battle, with all the grace of a toddler, it's large arms swinging from side-to-side as it advanced on the heroes.

"Sentinel!" Gerard bellowed, having seen the dark magical construct get summoned. The presence of such a thing only confirmed his worst fear. The Cultists had a Necromancer with them, a very powerful one... "Ballocks!" he cursed his luck, to caught up in his realization that he did not see Eliphas disappear into another smaller summoning portal, having been called else where by her master. But it didn't matter, the Sentinel would be just a big a probably as Eliphas would have been.

OoC: Boss time! Or rather mini-boss if this were an RPG, I figured we'd rap this up with a group battle of a single monster before we move back to New Wellington and get the plot moving a little more! Book, sorry for the rather unfair posts regarding your character, but Garin should be fine, if a little winded/bruised and his armour and weapon should be easy enough to repair, so it's not to much of a big deal.

Also the Sentinel profile will be up shortly on the OoC thread so you guys can get a little more background/info on it and find out what it can do. As far as appearance go, think something along the lines of a modified, more badass Regirock
