Reaching Salvation: Post-Acer Part 11

Kira smiled softly, before reaching out and knocking on the village gates, trying to get their attention. She squeezed Luke's hand, not really looking forward to seeing other people.

"What's up?" Neo called out from the other side of the gate, opening it.

Kira bit her lip, stepping behind Luke. "Um...y-you wouldn't happen t-to know th-the date, would you...? Or s-someone who would..."

"Uhm...Heidi or Paul might know...but they're busy...uhm...lemme see..." Neo mused the last part to himself.

OOC: What day is it even? xP

OOC: Late May, early June. Pick something. XP

"June first I think, if I recall correctly," Neo said, folding his arms behind his neck. "I'll ask Paul or Heidi later."

"Cool, thanks," Luke replied gratefully.

OoC: What date is Kira's birthday again?"

"Th-Thank you..." Kira smiled. "Um... C-Can we come in? We n-need to go shopping..."

"Sure thing, of course." Neo said, gesturing for them to be welcomed in.

Kira hesitantly walked in, swallowing nervously, before turning to Luke. "Sh-Should we go find T-Tom, then...?"

"Guess we should," Luke replied, giving her an encouraging smile before stepping into the village shyly. The earth sprouted up behind them silently, spelling out 'Are they looking for me?' for Neo.

"Geeze, how do you expect me to answer that without looking crazy? Yeah, they are," Neo said, scratching his head at having seen the words.

"I th-think we should start th-thinking about wh-what we should have t-to eat..." Kira frowned. She wasn't all that good with food, and Luke wasn't always confident in making decisions, so she had kind of been hoping that Melaney would have said something, but...

"Yeah, I'll try help," Luke replied, trying to be helpful even if he wouldn't be.

The wall behind Neo cracked a bit, Tom stepping through the stone before it sealed up.

"Oh shit!" Neo jumped once he heard the wall split open. "Jesus dude! Don't sneak up on me like that!"

Kira sighed, pursing her lips. "Um...maybe grilled zucchini? I d-" she stopped, hearing Tom behind them, and turning around. "A-A-Ah...u-um...hi."

"But it's so fun," Tom replied stoically. "Howdy."

Kira stepped behind Luke again. Despite the fact that she respected Tom, and thought he was nice enough, he was still scary because of his size, as wrong as it was for her to think that.

"Sadistic bastard." Neo said, before adding on, "I'll leave them in your care. If you need me, feel free to call."

Tom didn't judge her negatively, just happy for her that she'd plucked up the confidence to go out of her forest and speak.

"You were looking for me?" he asked in his quiet voice. "And yeah, I'll find you if I need you, Neo."

"Your suggestion sounds tasty," Luke whispered in her ear, having been interrupted by Tom when he first appeared.

Kira swallowed nervously, biting her lip and squeezing Luke's hand tightly, before starting. "Um... L-Luke a-and I a-are g-going t-to be building a-a h-house, i-in the forest, a-a-and I c-can d-do most o-of it, just...a wooden k-kitchen i-isn't a g-g-good idea..." she trailed off, shaking a bit.

"Yeah, I can help with that," Tom nodded, thinking. "Any particular things you want for appearance or type of stone? I'm blind, so you're gonna have to tell me."

"U-Um...L-Luke...?" Kira trailed off. She didn't know the first thing about cooking, so she figured this would have to be Luke's department.

"We really need a fireplace that's wide and something to hang stuff over it with. And then a floor, walls, and a roof that won't burn if I miss a spark. And obviously a chimney for the fireplace."

Kira nodded in agreement. She could do furniture, like a table or chairs.
