Paul knocked on one of the trees just outside Kira and Luke's forest. "Hey!!"

The plants surrounding Kira faded away as she pushed herself to her feet. She cautiously walked towards Paul, half hiding behind a tree. "H-Hi..."

"Hey," Paul said politely, "Um, I was wondering if I could ask you a favor? It's not big, but I'll owe you one later if you like. See, Sage's staff burned up earlier, and since her birthday is in two days I was wondering if I could ask you to make a small tree of sorts that could be carved into a staff?"

"O-Okay..." Kira replied, before frowning. "Wh-What kind o-of tr-tree?"

"Hm...some kind of hardwood," he said, "Perhaps birch?"

Kira nodded, a small birch tree growing next to Paul. "H-Here..."

"Thank you," Paul smiled, "Is there anything I can get you?"

Kira shook her head, biting her lip. She was easily content.

"Alright, thanks again," Paul said, carefully cutting the tree at the base, "I'll leave you in peace now."

Kira flinched slightly as he cut the tree, before the stump faded away. "Bye..." she mumbled, watching Paul leave.

"If you ever need anything, call," Paul said over his shoulder, formulating in his head how he'd carve the staff.

Two days passed, the odd spring dry streak continuing. A sunny day seemed to be ahead.

Heidi was passed out on the ground near Tom, still asleep.

Kira was already awake, weeding her garden. She'd already left a basket of fruit inside the treehouse for Luke when he woke up.

Elena was obviously still asleep, having crawled into Simon's bed sometime during the night.

Sage awoke on the day of her birth. She didn't feel any different...

Erika was throwing up again.

Joey walked over to his wife, worried. "...Ok, Erika, I think we have to accept the fact that this sn't just you being sick." He said, with a very concerned voice.

Tom was awake, sitting down rather peacefully. He was reasonably sure he was first up, and there really wasn't anything to do while the others slept but meditate. He wasn't big on training his Flow.

Luke awoke sometime after Kira from a night of tossing and turning. He was pleasantly surprised to find a basket of fruit left for him in the treehouse, and dug in after he had gotten himself dressed.

Kira glanced up at the treehouse, wondering if Luke was up yet, before looking around at the forest and biting her lip. It hadn't rained once since the day Luke had started staying with her, and the forest was getting dry. This wasn't good, especially since it only really needed one spark on a dry leaf to start a fire.

Luke cast an eye out the doorway of the treehouse for Kira. With his injuries he couldn't get out of the treehouse without Kira's help, a serious blow to his fragile self-confidence.

Paul was stood up on the gate, watching the horizon. He expected them today...

One of the serpents approached Tom. "Hello, blind one," it hissed. Lately they had been quite active in contrast to Melaney not even saying a thing.

Kira smiled up at Luke, a vine stretching up to Luke, offering her help to him.

"It's probably just a bug or something," Erika mumbled after wiping her mouth. "I remember this one time on a vacation with my Mom and Dad I caught this really bad case of the flu and had- had to stay in the hote room the whole trip a-and-"

The woman began to sob, inwardly she didn't know why and felt very ashamed. Even though compared to Ade and Heidi she was the most emotional, she hated appearing like a crybaby.

Erka felt arms wrap around her, as her husband hugged her.

"...It's ok..." Joey said, trying to comfort his wife.

"Mornin'," Tom replied, figuring the snakes were just extensions of Melanie's will, since it was her Flow. After all, the girl did have some weird quirks. Still, Tom tried to be polite to pretty much everyone.

Luke accepted the vine graciously.

"Good mornin'," he said once he hit the ground.

"No it's not... no it's not!" Erika screamed as her body racked with sobs.

Adeline frowned, studying her arm. There were bite marks from when a dog spirit suddenly attacked her the day before, but since she was unable to feel pain, she didn't know whether or not she should get it checked.
...Oh well, she thought, searching for some bandages to wrap her arm with.
