Reaching Salvation: Post-Acer Part 9

Heidi snarled animalistically, pulling a knife out of her pocket and throwing it at Jamie in one fluid motion.

The knife connected with Jamie's shoulder, and buried itself into it. If she felt pain, she hid it pretty well from those who couldn't read minds.

"Are you calmed down now?" she asked simply. Taking in deep breaths to calm herself.

Joey quickly ran over to help Jamie.

Heidi clenched her spear, Jamie's blood pushing the knife out of her shoulder and back into Heidi's hand. The blonde remained silent, as if daring Jamie to cross her.

Using her good arm, Jamie lifted her naginata to point it at Joey. "Stay out of this." She didn't flinch as the knife forced itself out.

"Do you feel better now, or are you going to need a punching bag?"

OOC: Just gotta say this...she's stronger physically than Zackary

Joey stopped, and nodded at the girl, deciding to leave it to her.

"Didn't you hear me? I said, get th' fuck out of here and go get Erika!" Heidi hissed, her hand shaking. It would be too easy to spill this girl's blood.

"I will catch up with you," Jamie called over her shoulder to Joey.

"Oi, blood Lady!" Josh yelled at Heidi.

Heidi looked over at Josh, a dangerous look in her eyes.

Josh scowled back defiantly. "We lost our whole family to this god forsaken Storm! Our parents, our grandparents, our aunts and uncles... and our sister. Cestie is one of the only few family we have left. And she was taken by our brother."

The boy turned around and began to walk away with Joey and Al. "Not everyone has a good a life as you got. You have a choice."

With that he started to walk with the others. "And don't kill Jamie, we're going to need all the help we can get!"

Heidi glared at the boy. She wasn't sure how any of that stuff really related. Benji was the only real family she had left, and he was crazy. She'd much rather live as a nomad than here, too.

Al called back. "In case you haven't figured it out, Cestie is Erika."

"And what's your point? It was Joey's responsibility to keep her safe," Heidi responded, rolling her eyes and turning away.

The twins said nothing else and continued to walk.

Jamie glanced between the two parties, and sighed to herself. And people do wonder why I hate my family.

Joey walked with the boys. "Kay boys, follow me, I'm going to get us a ride." He said, heading mentally calling out to his friend on the mountain.

"On what?" Josh asked.

Just as the boy finished saying that, a giant eagle landed a couple meters in front of them. "Al, Josh, I'd like you to mett Ven."

Pleasure to meet you. The Eagle-Chimera telepathically said.

"...So cool!" Josh and Al said at the same time.

Jamie had followed behind silently, and said nothing as she looked at the bird.

Joey just smiled, as Ven mentally chuckled. Indeed I am.

"Ok...time for everyone to get on, don't worry, there's plenty of room for everyone." Joey said, leading the boys toward the bird.

Josh and Al scrambled on to sit up front by the chimera's head.

Jamie sat further back, her weapon having disappeared.

Joey sat right behind the twins, so as to keep an eye on them. "Ok, I need you guys to help me navigate Ven after them, so I need you two to focus as best you can."
