Reaching Salvation: Post-Acer Part 1

Kira screamed, surprised by the strange girl. She was probably working for Nathan. She backed away from the two, branches poised to attack.

Joey ran beside here, heading in the direction of Kira's place, knowing that they were already too late.

When she heard the scream, she ran faster. "Stop! Wait!"

More people were intruding in her forest. Panicking, she turned the other way, running away from all the people.

Joey nearly face-palmed. "Oh God..."

"Kira please don't get scared, Nathan please don't get angry... and for the love of keeping me sane, Christina, don't try to make either of them your friend!" Erika yelled at the top of her lungs.

Joey put a hand on Erika's shoulder. "Erika, please calm down...let's just grab her and go."

Erika didn't feel calm at all, but decided to keep her mouth shut and continue with the original plan.

Joey quickly followed suit.

Erika grabbed Christina and started to run away without saying another word. I feel like we really ruined the moment...

"Hey! Let me go! I want to meet my friends!" Christina protested.

"Christina, they don't want to be your friend at the moment." Erika replied as she continued to move along with the girl.

You guys totally ruined the moment.

Sut it. Joey thought as he and Erika ran off with Christina.

"Everyone is my friend, Erika." Christina answered.

Joey face-palmed as they reached the village. "Oh boy..."

"Yes, but friends don't like it when a friend butts in when their friend is trying to convince another friend that they're still friends, when they really... aren't." Erika said, before turning to face the girl. "Do you get what I'm saying?"

Joey sighed. "Erika, let's drop her off the Church, they've got spare beds, so she can stay there until she decides on what she wants to do."

"Everyone is friends with everyone, they just have funny ways of showing it." Christina countered.

"Would a friend really want another friend busting in when he's trying to make ammends to a girl who think he wants to kill her still!?" Erika roared in Christina's face, losing any patience that she had with the girl's 'friend' business. There's naivete and then there's just plain stubborn idiocy.

Seeing Erika yell at Christina, Adeline sighed and approached the two. "Erika, maybe I should deal with her." I need a new punching bag.

Erika turned to Adeline. "Ade, you don't have to..."

Adeline shrugged. "Whatever gets her to shut up."

"Alright, please escort her to the Church and set her up. She can decide if she chooses to stick around tomorrow." Erika replied. I wonder if there's any asprin bark left from the scavenging trip... I think I need to chew some...

The woman paused for a moment. "And I mean only that. Save the other stuff for the enemies that may come back sooner than we'd think."

Joey sighed. "Well...that takes care of one thing..."

Christina was mildly annoyed with the girl's yelling, and looked at the other girl. "Hi!" she grinned.
