Phoenix Industries

"When is it? I'd like to take it." she asked.

"2:30," Dexter confirmed, looking down at her watch, which read 2:00. "The building is only a fifteen minute walk from here, so you'll only be waiting fifteen minutes. Phoenix Industries takes pride in our punctuality."

"Alright. I'll be there." she said. Punctuality. Don't be late. "Thank you." Victoria added.

Dexter smiled politely, deciding that once Vlad was done scoping the girl for potential usefulness, she would enforce her own punishment on her for being so loud.

Victoria started the walk toward the building after waving goodbye at the woman.

"Vlad!" Dexter called out as she walked into Vladimir's office.
"Hm?" was his simple reply as he scrambled to hide the stuff he was doing besides work.
"A girl's coming down. Real chatty. She's interested in a job."

Considering how she had half an hour, she picked up a coffee on her way there. She sipped it as she walked, and by the time she was finished, she had reached the building. She threw the empty cup away, and went inside.

Vlad sighed as he walked into the lobby. Oh how he hated interviews... They were so boring. He glanced around for the girl Dexter had described, straightening his standard uniform beige jacket.

Victoria saw a man walk into the lobby, the one she had seen at the very speeches he gave: Vlad Phoenix. She walked up to him. "Um, hello. There was a woman who sent me here for a 2:30 appointment, so I'm here!"

"Oh, you're the one Dex was talking about? Follow me, then, we'll meet up with her later," Vladimir said, turning on his heels towards the stairs, gesturing over his shoulder for the girl to follow him as he walked.

Victoria followed obediently, looking around at the building as she walked. "It's a nice place here." she said.

"Hm, really? My father always did the decorating," Vlad shrugged, stopping in front of a door and holding it open for Victoria. Inside the room was a table with two chairs on one side and one chair across from it. Sitting in one of the paired chairs was Dexter, her hair let down to cover her eyes again and she was dressed in her usual garb of a raincoat.
"You didn't screw up this time, good job, Vlad."

Victoria said nothing to that, and sat down in the chair opposite from the pair. She waited expectantly for the questioning to begin.

"Do you have any idea what you could've done?!" Dexter asked angrily once Vlad took his seat. "You could've gotten us both arrested because of your big fat mouth." She stood up, a much crueler person once away from the public eye.

Victoria recoiled. "I didn't say anything really, and I wasn't fully sure how to bring it up!" she shot back. "You cut me off really before I went into detail, so you have no right to yell at me!"

"Alright, next, how do you know about us?" Dexter asked.

"I have friends. They knew I wanted revenge, but I couldn't get it by myself. So they sent me looking." she said.

"Foolish," Dexter snarled, a scowl deepening on her face. "You mention this to one wrong person, we all die!" She turned to Vlad, her voice hinting at crazy. "Can I hit her? Please, can I hit her?"
Vlad sighed, snatching the umbrella from Dex's hand. "Sit down, Bee's only trying to possess you again," he told her, his voice remaining calm. He waited until Dexter sat down, before looking at Victoria. "Unfortunately, Dex is right. Your friends are quite stupid. But putting aside those matters and bringing up new ones, I suppose you want to be heroic and join us. From here you will be screened both psychologically and physically, along with your past records being checked. Do you wish to move forward?"

"I don't want to be heroic. I want to avenge my mother." Victoria said darkly. "I'll do anything for it. Do what you want to me." she said, a determined look on her face.

Vlad sighed, tapping the umbrella against the table. "Even worse. Those hell-bent on revenge often lose sight on the end goal."
He remained silent for a few moments, scrutinizing Victoria with his dark eyes, before sighing again and waving towards the door. "No matter, go down the hall, three doors down on your left."

Victoria nodded. "Alright." she said, and stood. "It was nice meeting you both."

Once Victoria had left the room, Vlad turned to Dexter, pulling her hair teasingly. "She acts like you, back when we found you," he told her in a sing-song voice. "That's prob'ly why 'y hate her so much."

"Vlad, I was what, twelve? I had seen my house and family burned to the ground, my friends and neighbors slaughtered, and I had been living on the streets for months. She only lost her mother. We're nothing alike," Dexter protested indigently, reaching for her umbrella while she talked, only to have Vlad move it farther away.

"Not everyone can be as insensitive as you," he teased, wrapping his arm around her shoulder.

OOC: How about timeskip to Toni's appointment; that okay? Psych tests would be boring, and then I can put them through physical training together.

Three days later, Tori made her way to the PI building, carrying her keytar in a suitcase. Here we go...

Dexter stood waiting in the lobby, her hair properly pinned up once again. "Hello, you're Comrade Toni...something? The one with the keytar, correct?"
