Reaching Salvation: Post-Acer

Paul blinked, knocking on the door. No use giving up so easily.

"What part of 'I don't want to talk to you' didn't you understand?!" Heidi demanded loudly, not bothering to get up from where she was seated, instead yelling at Paul. Why did he have to be so stubborn?

"All of it?" Paul asked, knocking again, "What's wrong, tough girl, can't even bother to talk to me?"

"I'm not in the mood for your bullshit, Paul," Heidi snapped back, banging her head on the table in frustration. Why was he so good at getting under her skin? How did she ever think that was a good quality of his?

"Like it or not, we'll need to talk at some point," Paul stated with a sigh, "I can feel them coming. I'd say we have an hour or so till Lillian gets here."

"Well start talking then," Heidi called back, not particularly keen on letting Paul in. She shuddered a bit at the mention of Lillian, muttering a prayer under her breath for Tom, before hitting her head off the table again. This was not going to be fun.

"Fine then," Paul responded after a moment of silence, "But I'm not gonna apologize." He thought for a moment. "Well, maybe later, if I feel you deserves it."

Nathan clenched his fist and looked at the surrounding landscape, he could see dust clouds off into the distance. They would be upon them within an hour. He folded his arms above his ice platform after zooming in with Intuitive Aptitude he had managed to get an insight into the numbers they were dealing with. Between them all they had one hundred fighters for their cause at best. Lillian's initial attack force had six hundred minimum.

With a growl he jumped down from his platform and frowned. The landscape had all been set up the plans had pretty much been sorted and they had less than an hour until they took part in the battle that would decide their lives.

Using all of his telekinetic power he infiltrated the minds of every single one of their fighters. The weaker of those among them needed someone to lead them. Those who didn't like Nathan would just have to put that behind them and those of similar strength to Nathan who didn't like him would have to pretend to put that aside for once.

"Everyone come to where you can sense my flow. Now."

Heidi folded her arms, scowling at Paul's arrogance. He gets her pregnant and everything was her fault? It wasn't completely his, but there was definitely a lot of blame that he deserved.

She stood up abruptly to go kick Paul between the legs so he couldn't pull this bullshit again when Nathan's message echoed in her head. "Fucking hell," she muttered under her breath, striding over to the door. How the hell was she supposed to find him? She couldn't sense Flow. She slammed the door open, hopefully hitting Paul in the face, before continuing walking. With Nathan's ego he wouldn't be that hard to spot, even if she couldn't sense Flow.

Kira shifted anxiously at Nathan's message, biting her lip as she located his Flow and started heading towards it, feeling rather scared. Fighting was terrible. Why couldn't people just settle their differences peacefully? She tugged at the sleeves of her jacket, falling back into the old nervous habit she thought she'd given up.

Considering most doors opened inwards, I doubt she hit Paul in the face. "Ignore him for one minute would ya?" Paul said, stepping back from the doorway.

OOC: Awkward moment when my front door opens outwards.

Heidi turned on Paul, a red glow forming around her. "No, Paul. One of my best friends is dead, my other best friend has a damn good chance of dying, and I'm carrying the kid of some guy who turned out to be a complete ass. I don't really feel like putting myself through anymore torture," she hissed, before continuing to stalk off.

"You act like your world is so much worse than mine right now," Paul called after her, "All your self pity and sadness. It's funny. Did you see two of my friends dead near Eithne?" Paul trailed after her. "How about the only person I've even considered caring about deciding to hate me because, for once, I was wrong? Don't tell me I don't have feelings, Heidi, just because I don't show them as much. I've put more friends in the ground than you can count, took more torture than you can even remember, watched my best friend disappear in a hail of bullets in a mineshaft, destroyed literal life around me, and when you say you have it rough, I'll let you know when you'v caught up."

Paul stopped for a moment and glanced over at the encampment where his friends and allies were mobilizing. They'd be waiting for him, since he'd need to lead them over to Nathan.

Heidi clenched her fists as she found herself blinking back tears. Fucking Paul. She let out a low growl, before swinging her fist at his jaw and quickly turning the other way to walk off before she did anymore damage. So stupid so stupid so stupid. Now she was going to be all crying and angry when she had to talk to Nathan, or be lectured by him- usually the same thing- and that wasn't a good combination. Neither of those things were good by themselves to begin with.

Paul let the fist connect, his head snapping to the side. "What, that's it? Come on, you can hit harder than that!" Paul shouted at her. She needed a good punching bag else she'd get careless and reckless in the battle and probably get herself killed.

Heidi turned back to look at Paul, her eyes narrowing. Probably not that good of a move on Paul's part. A bright red glow surrounded her, and Paul would feel his pulse speed up, while Heidi launched herself at him, kicking for the stomach this time.

Paul felt her foot connect, knocking the wind out of him with an 'oof' as he mainly spent his concentration and energy on preventing her from killing his heart. He doubled over, actually relishing in the fact that it had been so long since he had been beaten up that he had forgotten what it was like.

Once Paul was doubled over, Heidi slammed her elbow down at the back of his head. Her Flow was definitely giving off a rage that hadn't come out in quite awhile.

Paul grunted, falling to the ground, his arms automatically trying to pick himself up again. Maybe people were right; he was crazy.

Heidi pressed her foot down on his back. "You picked the wrong person to make angry," she hissed. By now Paul should have been well aware of her temper, even without the extra hormones making her nutty.

Paul couldn't help but chuckle. "I...think....I picked the right person...." he groaned from underneath her foot, falling back to the ground.

"Whatever you say, dumbass," Heidi muttered taking her foot off Paul's back. "Now get up, Tombo'll get pissed if we lose another fighter," she ordered, stepping back and crossing her arms as she waited for Paul to get to his feet.

Paul grunted, pulling himself up and dusting off his clothes. "You know," he flashed a grin, "You coulda hit harder." This time he ducked.

"You fuckin' doubting me?!" Heidi hissed, swinging another punch at Paul and watching as he ducked. Instead, she aimed her foot where the sun didn't shine. If Paul didn't want to be able to get up, she'd make sure he wasn't able to get up.

Paul saw this coming and grabbed her leg at the last second, flipping her onto her back. "I don't doubt you, Heidi, I just believe that you can seriously injure someone when you want to."

Heidi coughed, wincing a little as she hit the ground. Ouch. Her head hurt now. When was the last time she'd hit the ground that hard? Probably while she was fighting Shima!Tom. "Yes...yes I can," she groaned, rubbing her head. "Except you're needed to fight. I'll kill you once Lillian's done with."
