Nightfall, Children of the Elements Part 1

"Why would they make them in the first place." Suzume countred that opinion.

"Well... Um, earlier I heard this message on my radio." Manda took off her bagpack and started to shuffle around, before pulling out what appeared to be a piece of gray and black plastic. The girl pulled out the black that was actually a crank and started turning it, then she pulled out an antenna from the top, which played a slightly crackled message. "See?"

"I see," Suzume didn't nother to turn around to look.

"No you didn't." Manda pouted.

"What. You think that it's convinet that this ice pillar is possibly for a signal?" Suzume questioned, still not looking back. Why should she?

"It's hard to find coincedences these days!" Manda replied.

"If you wish to walk into a possible trap. Be my guest." Suzume stated blankluy

"But I thought we were travel partners." Mand alooked down, pointing her fingers together.

"When have we ever been 'Travel partners.' I don't like being in a group. Simple as that," Suzume turned around to give the girl a folded arms stare.

"You didn't try to kill me." Manda replied with doe eyes. "And that's better than what others have tried."

"I'm tempted to." Suzume stated, turning back around. "Is there anyone here!? Alive!?" she called out, closer to the ice pillar.

Josephine heard Suzume call out, quickly double checking to make sure she was hidden.

Suzume thought she heard something shift, somewhere out in the distance. She glanced over, looking at any places that they could hide.

Josephine twinged slightly. The girl was looking at her, dammit, dammit, dammit...

"Either you come out now, or else I impale you where you are," Suzume called out to whoever was there. She had no problems keeping her threat.

Josephine sighed, dropping her bat as she straightened out of her hiding place, smiling calmly at Suzume. A light seemed to be shining off of her, giving her a supernatural look. Perhaps she could just pull the usual 'I'm an angel from heaven sent to watch over you so don't kill me kthxbai.'

"Explain yourself." Suzume said, ready to have metal spikes spear her at a moment's notice.

Isaac's ears pricked up. He heard someone shout from an alley or from behind a nearby building. He got to his feet, pulling his butterfly knife out, and spinning it open in his palm. "Over here!" he called out, taking a few cautious steps forward.

Ray frowned, watching the scene from a distance, although she made no effort to hide herself.

Josephine raised her hands up, showing she was unarmed. Brighter rays of light came from her back, forming wing-looking appendages. "Shh, calm yourself," she began, her voice soothing. "I am merely an angel, sent by God to watch over the people of this barren land."

"Bullshit," Suzume deadpanned at Josephine's 'angel' crap. That was when she heard someone else. To be expected when being loud.

"It's alright, you don't have to believe," Josephine smiled, glad that angels were traditionally male, since that's what she looked like and kind of sounded like.

"Ten seconds before I impale you." Suzume stated, getting ready.

Josephine's smile faded into a small frown. "There's no need to be hostile. God will frown upon your actions," she stated, her wings curling around her.

"I don't give a rat's ass about God." Suzume folded her arms.
