Nightfall, Children of the Elements Part 1

"But God gives a rat's ass about you," Josephine shrugged.

"Angels don't swear." Suzume caught that, and simply shrugged. "But, now I am bored of talking to you."

"Have you ever met an angel before me? The old prophets were all so stubborn, they censored us a bit."

"Yes I have." Suzume rolled her eyes and unfolded her arms.

"Ooh, what was their name? Maybe I know them!" Josephine smiled happily.

"Ryuu." Suzume had a blank face on.

Ray's head perked up, thinking that someone had called her name. She simply shrugged it off and continued to watch the scene.

"Oooohhh." Manda was looking at Josephien with wide eyes.

"Are you really letting this Human fool you?" Suzume asked of Manda.

Isaac had been standing behind a building, listening silently, while trying to stay hidden, though he'd already called out to them, so he doubted that he would be able to sneak up on them. It looked like a crowd of teenagers around his age and...an angel?
He shook his head. Angels didn't exist. At least, they were doing a piss poor job of helping humans if they did. He stepped around the building, taking several long strides, and hurled his knife at the 'angel'. However, the latch wasn't done, so the knife swung closed and latched, knocking the 'angel' in the side of the head rather harmlessly. Shit. he thought, instantly whipping his combat knife out of his boot, standing at a ready position.

"N-no!" The girl squawked, her face turning a shade of red. "Look out!" She yelled when she saw the knife.

Once saw the knife, Suzume turned, and when she turned, metal spikes struck out of the ground and moved towards Isaac.

The light surrounding Josephine seemed to slow the knife, dropping it harmlessly to the ground, where she finally noticed it. Picking up the knife, she looked over in the direction it came from, a small frown crossing her face. "I am afraid I don't understand what I did..." she stated confusedly.

Isaac ran towards the metal spikes head-on, jumping up and doing a backflip off of one. He landed in a roll, using the momentum to bring him back to his feet. "Demon." he said simply, and several massive ice spikes erupted from the ground behind him. "I'm trying to save you." he said, indicating the two girls. He held completely still, then relaxed. The 'angel' seemed to be genuinely confused. Just some kid, Isaac couldn't tell if it was a boy or girl from this distance, most likely. He didn't move or say anything else, but seemed to relax slightly.

"Demon?" Manda said in a confused tone, looking around.

"Ha! You think I need saving!? I am not some sort of fucking useless princess!" Suzume snorted, as a metal wall shot up in front of Isaac, then behind him.

"Sparrow ma'am, stop it!" Manda ran to the older girl, a shot of water going into Suzume's ear, giving her a wet willy.

Leon who was listening to the tussle jumped down from the building swords drawn and into the metal walls and grabbed Issac who he had been following since he reached Denver. He hit the ground and ran with Issac over his shoulders.

As the light around Josephine faded, the wings seemed to tuck themselves against her back. She picked up her bat, moving towards Manda. "I apologize if I scared anyone, but I'm far from a demon. I'm a servant of God, momentarily stationed on Earth in an attempt to send the demons back to Hell."

When the water went into her ear, Suzume quickly tried to clear it out. "...Never. Do. That. Again."

Manda hid behind Josephine from Suzume, mumbling a 'sorry'.

Before Suzume could get any closer Leon appeared in the middle to defend Manda

Josephine frowned slightly, patting Manda on the head reassuringly. "There is no need to get so angry."

"And what the hell are you supposed to be? Someone who couldn't be bothered to get changed out of their pajamas?" Suzume snorted at Leon's appearance.

Manda's eyes closed at being patted. She can't remember ever being patted on the head before.
