Grabbing bandages, he started wrapping her arm up. "Sorry it hurt. We have limited anesthetic, only those severely injured get to have it..."

"Understandable." Victoria said, calming down a little.

"If you don't mind me asking, how did you get shot? Ms. Phoenix doesn't usually end up dragging people into the infirmary..."

"It was those damn robots." Victoria said, shaking her head. "Vlad or whatever decided to cut them off before I could finish them off."

"Mr. Phoenix doesn't really like fighting...though if Ms. Phoenix ran the robot controls, everyone would be dead," the doctor laughed anxiously. "Mr. Phoenix is a smart man, you should trust his judgements. He's the one who figured out how to control Bee, after all. Bee is a very valuable resource..."

Victoria looked at him, confused. "Bee?"

"You saw Ms. Phoenix's umbrella? The power inside that was named Bee by Ms. Phoenix..." the doctor explained.

"Like the bug? It suits her personality I guess...." Victoria joked.

"I guess you could say that...but from what I know, it was named before she got here. Even after she arrived, Ms. Phoenix was...not really much of a talker, to say the least. In fact, I thought for sure she was going to summon Satan, or something, haha..."

"She looks like the type who would..." she trailed off.

"You think she's bad now? She never talked to anyone, just muttered all the time. It was really creepy..."

Victoria shook her head. "No wonder I don't like her so much."

"No one really does...she's still scary. I don't know what Mr. Phoenix sees in her..." the doctor admitted. "I think that the only reason Mr. Phoenix's father brought her into the industry at such a young age was because Bee is a killing machine and Mr. Phoenix needed someone his own age at the time."

"Typical. I'm glad I'm not a little aristocrat, or heir to something. I can't stand arranged marriages." Victoria said.

"The late Mr. Phoenix passed away before the topic of marriage even came up," the doctor frowned, obviously having much respect for the past leader. "I don't think it was intended as an arranged marriage. There would be nothing politically to gain, anyway, the industry picked Ms. Phoenix off the streets to try and stop Bee from killing innocent people."

"It was killing people?" she asked, surprised.

"It's kind of like a parasite, I suppose. Ms. Phoenix was unlucky enough to have picked Bee up one day, and now she mentally relies on the power. She gets rather nervous without the umbrella, though she'd probably end up killing you before you could take it, unless you're Mr. Phoenix."

"Bees aren't parasites." she joked.

"Does it matter?" the doctor blinked, pushing up his glasses. His sense of humor was...lacking to say the least.

"It's just a contradictory name." she said, confused. The joke went right over his head.

"Well, she must have been a child when she named it. I don't think it really mattered at the time..." the doctor tried to explain.

She shook her head, laughing almost. "Forget it."

"Um...okay..." the doctor mumbled, pushing up his glasses as he turned away. "You're free to go now. I don't know if Mr. Phoenix will let you take the acceptation test right away, but..."

"Ugh, I don't think I want to go." She said irritably, then looked at him. "I never caught your name."

"Perhaps once you pass the acceptation test, you can help me in medical...I don't get much help at all... I'm Martin, by the way."
