Reaching Salvation: Post-Acer Part 1

"I'm Christina Pendleton! Nice to meet you, Erika! Which village is this?" she asked, grinning.

"Well... it doesn't exactly have a real name... but we call it the Village of Survivors." Erika replied, looking at it.

"Survivors? Survivors of what?" Christina asked, confused. "I'm sorry I'm asking so many questions, but I want to make sure I don't offend anyone if I do something wrong. I don't want to be thrown out!" she laughed.

"Ever heard of the Acer Tournament?" Erika asked.

Christina shook her head. "No, I've kind of been living under a rock for years."

Heidi laughed, opening up the door. "Be careful," she cautioned, still laughing as she noted the wreckage Simon had left in his wake.

Elena was passed out in Erika's bed. She still tended not to sleep in her own bed.

"I was trying to multitask with doing my buttons." Simon explained as he got to his feet. "But I'm alright.

"You play the piano so well, yet you can't work buttons," Heidi laughed, patting the top of his head with a gloved hand even though they were almost the same height.

"Be thankful that I can tie my own shoelaces," Simon smiled, reajusting his hair after Heidi's pat.

"Once I had to reteach Benji how to tie his shoes," Heidi laughed, though a bit sadly, before brightening up. "I thought up the most wonderful game this morning, and Ade wouldn't play with me. You up for the challenge?"

"Well... I guess I don't have to help out Joey for another hour... so alright. What is it by the way?" The black-haired boy asked.

"Bleh, Joey. Just skip work," Heidi shrugged. "Anyway, the game, whoever rolls down the hill fastest wins."

Simon sweat dropped at Heidi's comment on Joey, before nodding. "Doesn't sound too hard..."

"And I shall be victorious!" Heidi laughed maniacally, running towards the bridge leading outside the village. "Race y'!"

"Yeah right!" Simon yelled back, before running after Heidi.

"Well... I think it would be better if more people explained it to you..." Erika replied, before walking towards the village. "Follow me."

OOC: It's all good~

Christina began to follow her. "Are we going to meet more friends?" she asked.

"I guess so." Erika smiled as she continued to walk. "Don't take it too personally if some aren't so friendly towards you. We're all a little paranoid."

Christina shrugged. "Everyone is my friend. It's easier to think of the world as not such a bad place and there aren't any bad people because people hate you more if you only see the bad in others. The glass is half full with everything. It freaks everyone out, but I don't mind." she said nonchalantly.

...This girl really did live under a rock during the Apocalypse. Erika thought, shrugging. "Your point of view."

"Also, if you only see bad in others, you live a very lonely life." she added, shrugging again.

"That's the scale of Optimism versus Cynicism I suppose," Erika replied. "Though it is a very sad way to live."

Joey sighed. "Dan, just remember to practice, next time, ok?" Joey said, getting a nod from the young man. "Well, see ya later, I've got to meet up with Erika."

And with that, Joey walked off down the street, saying hi to the villagers as they waved to him.

"What, an optimistic life? It's sad?" Christina asked, confused.
