Reaching Salvation: Post-Acer Part 3

Melaney simply disappeared in a mass of shadows, though they parted for the lightning easily. She reappeared four feet from her original position, eyes glowing yellow.

Adeline sighed, making her way to the Illuminati's Village. Something tells me that this won't end well...

"That wasn't even full power." Nathan responded. "Good dodge though..." A fifty meter circle of darkness appeared around Mealeny and slowly began to close in on her, spikes appearing at the sides.

Eithne nodded and hooked Joey into a fireman's carry. "Sorry, you can't move as fast as I can. Hold on."

With that he used his Flash Step to make his way back to the village at a speed that rivalled Nathan's Super Speed.

Melaney stared at the circle blankly, her shadow instantly dropping to the ground and away from around her.

After they got there, Joey quickly unhooked himself, and got himself together, before rushing to the sceaming.

Kira squeaked as a blur pushed past her. She started moving in the general direction it had gone, into the village, looking around warily.

Nathan smirked and disappeared at Super Speed. He appeared behind Mealeny and wrapped his arm around her neck before vanishing and appearing just above the edge of the circle. He threw her face first into the ground and forced the circle to close even quicker.

Amelia yelled. A few other females were around her trying to calm her and keep her comfy.

Kira flinched at the yelling, poking her head into the hut it seemed to be coming from.

Melaney pushed herself back, scrambling for the edge of her shadow before diving into a hole it had made. Should Nathan appear at the top of the hole, he'd be met by a couple gunshots.

Joey approached Amelia quickly. "Don't worry, I can help..."

Nathan materialised inside the shadow and wrapped his hand around the girl's throat. Using his own natural darkness to propel him him he shot upwards to twenty feet with the girl.

"I could kill you now." He muttered before smirking and letting her drop.

"How." Carly spat as she listened to Amelia scream again as she tried to push again.

Melaney coughed, groaning. "Letting guard down equal bad idea," she muttered, shadows swirling thickly around her.

"I've helped given birth before." Joey quickly explained, before moving over to Amelia. "Eithine brought me to help."
He then turned his attention to the one giving birth. "Ok, just keep breathing, and pushing." He said, before turnig to one of he other people nearby. "One of you, take her hand."

Kira sighed, moving quietly into the room. "A-A rag with cold w-water," she mumbled, moving towards Amelia. "A-And then a bucket of hot w-water..." Her mother had been a medical student. That was how she knew herbal remedies. Birthing was rather foggy, but what she could do was better than arguing.

Joey nodded to Kira. "Thanks." He said, before turning to the rest of them.

Everything they needed was fetched, and Eithne took Amelia's hand a worried look on his face. As the woman cried out again.

Nathan sighed and appeared behind Amelia with his sword at her throat. "Time's up. Well done, you can come with us." He'd sensed her feelings with Empathy and coupled with his guilty conscience he felt sorry for her. Not that he'd admit it.

"We need a mainly range unit who can protect itself."

OOC: Just gonna say, he'd be shredded if he went in that black cloud. :/

Melaney sighed. At least she wasn't alone anymore.

"Ok, someone get me a blanket." Joey said, before turning to Amelia. "Just keep on doing what you're doing." He told her, before moving to see if there was any progress.

OOC: He's got a Sephiroth sword, Poker. It's rather long

Nathan sighed and look at her. "When we get back to the villages. You'll be able to see Paul again." He noted.

Amelia continued pushing as a blanket was pulled forward. She let out a yell that sounded like Nathan's name. Followed by the word "hate."

Kira stood next to Amelia, patting her forehead with the cloth. "Breathe in...out...i-in...out..." she repeated, flowers with a calming sent growing in the room.

OOC: And how did it make it through dense shadows? Just a warning in the future, she uses her shadows like a physical barrier.

Melaney seemed to brighten at this, but held her monotone voice. "Thank you."

After a couple of minutes, Joey thought he saw something. "Hey...I think it's starting to come out!" He called to the others.

"H-Head first?" Kira questioned, worry surfacing in her voice.

"...Yeah, it's the head alright." Joey said, crouching down. "Just keep pushing Amelia."

Amelia did as instructed and slowly but surely the baby began to emerge. It's flow felt exactly like Nathan's.
