Reaching Salvation: Post-Acer Part 12

"I know," Kira responded, a wide smile on her face as a vine took her into the treehouse. She quickly changed into the new dress she'd gotten from Sage, before taking out her braid and combing her hair into place. With that done, she grabbed hers and Luke's blankets, bundling them up and placing them under her arm, before exiting the treehouse.

Luke was looking through the icebox, idly glancing up at her when she came down.

"Oh, that's new. Looks nice," he complimented, before going back to looking.

"Thanks," Kira smiled slightly, waiting for Luke to be finished.

Luke pulled out some beef, a bunch of spices and some yellow shells.

"Tacos?" the healed man asked hopefully.

"Sounds good," Kira smiled. While not her favorite meal, she was sure if Luke made it, it would be good.

"Cool," Luke replied. "Wondering if we should make extra for people who might be starving in the Illuminati."

Kira paused in thought, "I don't think we have enough food to feed a village, but I can grow some, too."

"Yeah, but I figured only some of 'em would be hungry," Luke replied.

"Alright... Do you want me to carry anything?" Kira asked, wondering if they were going to cook the food in the village.

"I think I'm good, thanks," Luke replied happily, walking along towards the village. He felt like running, just to test out his newly functioning leg.

Kira followed, quickly falling behind and realizing she had to walk a lot faster to keep up with Luke now. It didn't take much effort to catch up with him again, but it had surprised her.

"Feel so much more... freeeee~" Luke sing-songed jokingly, turning back to smile at Kira.

"You definitely walk a lot faster," Kira giggled, in quite the good mood.

"Sorry, I'll slow down and take it easy. Just got the jitters, I think," Luke chuckled.

"I can keep up!" Kira huffed, puffing out her cheeks as she pretended to be mad.

"Oh really?" Luke taunted her with a joking grin.
