Nell sighed dreamily, still thinking about the meteor. She wished that she had a beautiful chunk of space rock to add to her collection like Joey did.

ZD: I didn't miss any lyrics.
ZD: I had them up on the screen.
ZD: Oh yeah. Forgot to give you this.

Kathryn took the pre punched card out of the deck and threw it at her.

ZD: So many times, it happens too fast

IO: whoa a card
IO: like what joey was rambling about

Nell captchalouged the card for shits and giggles, but otherwise wasn't really sure what she was supposed to do with it. She'd just wait for Joey to figure shit out, since he seemed to know what he was doing.

DH: YES!!
DH: YES I WANT IT!

Joey was freaking out, a meteor was heading towards him, his server didn't realize the danger he was in, and his sprite had pretty much said that he was going to die. After a minute, he sighed, and tried to calm down.

DH: Sorry.
DH: /headshot
DH: And yes...I want it

IO: alright here ya go
IO: no need to get your panties in a twist

Nell rolled her eyes. Why didn't Joey see the awesomeness of his situation? With a flick of her trackpad, she threw the pre-punched card at him.

IO: catch!!!

Joey jumped, catching the card in mid-air, before landing on the ground, his face hitting the floor.

DH: ...Thanks.

Joey got up, and took another look at the walkthrough, using his laptop-

-before finding out what to do next. Ok, he was spose to turn the wheel again, and retrieve a cruxite dowel, before inserting it into the totem lathe, which from the poor description written about it, the thing with the needle. After retrieving the dowel and inserting it and the card into the Totem Lathe, he pressed a button, and the dowel began to spin, the needle carving into it, forming it into a new shape.

After checking the walkthrough again, he retrieved the carved dowel, and went over, and inserted it into the Alchemiter. Turning the machine on, he checked the walkthrough one more time, only to find that it cut off there. He would have to figure out everything else on his own. Looking back at the Alchemiter, he was amazed to find an orange weapons wrack standing on the platform, but just as soon as he saw it, it vanished, leaving only a single orange handgun on the platform.

"...That's it?"

Joey picked the gun up, examining it. It was an old-fashioned gun, that'd you find in westerns. He checked the barrel, only to find one bullet. It was pretty fucking obvious that he had to shoot something, but he had no idea what. Turning it up and over, trying to find a clue, he noticed something. At the bottom of the handle, there was something engraved.

"No..."

His sprite's words echoed in his head, suddenly taking a new meaning.

Be ready to die, cadet.

DH: ...Nell, if this doesn't work, I just wanted to say
DH: Thank you, you and everyone else have been good friends to me.

Joey sighed, before looking at the timer.

He pulled the gun up to his head, his arm shaking a little, but continued none the less. At this point, he had nothing left to lose...

"...Ready to die, sir.

He pulled the trigger.

BANG!

Joey's house was enveloped in a bright light, before disappearing, not two seconds before the meteor destroyed Joey's neighborhood.

Nell screamed, dropping her computer. "What the helll? What the...what the fuck?!" Why did Joey...why did he just shoot himself in the head?! Leaving her computer where it was laying on the floor, she curled up on the couch, sobbing hysterically.

It was awhile before anything happened. It would seem like minutes had passed, but then a sound sounded from Nell's computer, the sound of a pesterchum message.

Nell glanced over at her laptop, scrambling for it when she saw a message from Joey. She started rubbing her eyes furiously, rather annoyed that he figured out how to play such a cruel trick on her.

IO: YOU DICK HEAD
IO: WHY DID YOU DO THAT
IO: I HAAAAATE YOU

Nell started slamming her keyboard, not really trying to form the words that she wanted to, as she tried to stop crying. At least Joey was okay...

DH: I'm sorry, but I didn't have time to warn you what I was about to do.

Joey sighed as he looked away from his laptop, wherever his house was now, it was dark out.

Nell sniffled a little, managing this time to actually type comprehensible words.

IO: well it wasnt very nice

Nell shrugged and got up to look out her window, seeing nothing but the rain clouds outside. Returning to her laptop, she typed a reply, a little disappointed.

IO: i see nada

Of course, she had only looked out on one side of her house.
