Name: Nathan (Nate) Stanton.

Sex: Male.

Age: 28.

Appearance: He appears about four years younger than he actually is. Since his teenage years, Nate has changed in multiple ways. Now fully filled out, Nate’s training has seen an increase in muscle size and tone. He now stands at six foot two with an extremely well-toned body. His size isn’t all that’s changed; he lost the emo quality to his hair and even cut down on the length. Primarily messy in style only a few individual spikes of hair fall into his forehead, the rest of his hair frames his face and a few spikes cover the tops of his ears. At the back of his head the messy brown black locks fall level with his jaw.

He has a charismatic bad boy smile that is coupled with tremendous and seductive cheek bones.

Another change is that Nate now has styled facial hair covering his upper lip, chin and jaw with thin hairs. His eyes now that they’re not polluted with darkness are a piercing ice blue.

In terms of his attire, gone are the hoodies and trench coats that he adorned himself in during his time in the Acer Tournament and during his tutelage under Shima. In their place Nate now chooses to wear a stylish fitted leather jacket that he liberated during one of his ventures into the inner city. The jacket is jet black in colour and has two buttons up pockets as well as straps adorning both wrists and both shoulders. To complete the easy on the eye stylistic features the jacket has a tall collar that when extended covers most of Nathan’s neck.

On his lower half he wears fitted black jeans and tailor made black boots that were also liberated from the inner city during one of Nate explorations of the city. The jeans come with a silver chain, attached to which is a beautifully made black scabbard.

Sheathed in this scabbard is a sword that Nate created by himself using his raw flow as well as his absorbed flow’s. The sword is considered unbreakable and to an extent flow resistance from the amount of flow that Nate poured into its creation. The sword is one of very few things that Nate truly cares about.

Personality: Since being turned on by his group, and thanks to the influence of those loyal to him Nathan became slightly kinder, if only for the fact that he was no longer mindlessly kills and torments humans without good reason. Knowing he now has people to be strong for he has been training himself to show intense self-control. He proves that he is capable of love, nobility, loyalty, and selflessness but still masks the most intense of his emotions in order to spare himself from seeming weak. He does however prove these positive emotions by expressing just enough to draw in a very small circle of friends. He also claims that he can turn his emotions off any time he wants due to his flow, but people who are versed in knowledge of the Empathy flow know that it only last for a while and then he’ll have to pretend he can’t feel anything.

Not considered wholly evil any more, Nate has been known to snap when people underestimate his power. After getting sick of being told to be the bigger man one time he went on a killing spree against some of the would be terrorists. When one of his people tried to follow him she was badly hurt.

Upon his return Nate showed genuine regret for being the reason one of his people was hurt. His inner turmoil continued and as he struggled to exert final and indefinite control over his darkness ability he decided he’d go and visit Kira.

He revealed to her that he still loved her, and he told her about all of his plans. At the same time he said it was because of her, Erika and Sage that he could control the darkness now. His exact words were: “I can’t be selfish with you. I don’t deserve you… but Luke does. Just like with Erika and Joey… I wish you didn’t have to forget this… but you do.” And then he used telepathy to make her forget he’d ever seen her. This is the only time he has ever been able to take someone's memory and since then he hasn't been able to.

This shows that he has finally been molded into a better person. This served a as a revelation for him, and his selfishness, cruelty and violent nature lessened by a great deal. However when he is down Nate has been known to use a combination of murder, violence and alcohol as a consolation.

Despite all the positives that accompany Nate’s years, he still retains his dark wit, sarcastic remarks and arrogant air. He also exhibits his charm when dealing with women. He also still possesses a manner of reckless impulsiveness at times.

Nate is very self-confident, something that is shown when he confronts those few people stronger than him without hesitation, and without regard to manners, a trait he retains from his teenage years (most notable in his fights with the Big Five, Shima and Eithne). He often taunts them, which results in him nearly being killed quite often as they are undeniably stronger than him.

Flow Power: Complete Absorption – Nate can fully absorb, mimic or even steal people’s flow, memories, DNA and conscious. He has forgone the use of stealing things since his turn away from his darker roots. When it comes to the amount of flow’s he can mimic/absorb/steal he can only have in total 10 flows (whereas the memories he can mimic/steal/absorb are limitless and he doesn’t know he can absorb a person’s conscious). Also as a direct result of the power jump when he turned eighteen, Nate has five abilities that he is stuck with for life. The other five abilities he has are interchangeable.

Abilities absorbed:
1 - Ice Manipulation: Nate absorbed Ice Manipulation during the maze challenge of the Acer Tournament. Because of his reluctance to use Darkness, Ice Manipulation is Nate’s most used fighting ability. He can create many shapes with the ice, as well as affect the weather in a small scale area and cause it to snow or hail. One of his favourite techniques to use is to create Ice Clones of himself that are almost identical in appearance to him. Nate also has the ability to turn his body to ice and still fight or fulfill other functions.

He can only maintain this full ice body state for ten minutes a day, but one upside to this ability is that if he takes damage and is shattered he can reform himself.

When Ice Manipulation is used, Nate’s hands take on a blue hue and the temperature around him in a half mile radius drops to below freezing.

2 - Super Speed: This is Nate’s favourite and most used non-passive ability, it was absorbed shortly before his fight with Ven. When it comes down to any travelling or even combat, Nate will always use Super Speed. His proficiency with the ability is so great that to most it will look like he has teleported short distances. To the trained eye the only warning they’ll get is a blur. In fact only those with eye related flows can keep track of Nate fully.

The ability doesn’t leak a flow signature unlike many of his other flows. This is another reason for why he favours the ability.

3 - Intuitive Aptitude: Nate’s first ever passive ability (ability that can’t be turned off and is constantly in work), like Super Speed it was absorbed shortly before Nate fought Ven. Originally Nate could turn the power off, but during his time with Shima the original recipient of Intuitive Aptitude died and her eyes were transplanted into Nate (this is the reason he now has blue eyes). Intuitive Aptitude initially allows its users to learn things with just a glance. This could be anything from a fighting style, to a mathematical equation, to (in Nate’s case) understanding how to use a newly absorbed ability.

Other perks of Intuitive Aptitude that are touched upon once adulthood is reached include: Complete analysis of movements in order to almost predict what someone is going to do in a fight, heat sensor vision, x-ray vision, night vision and telescopic vision.

When using this ability, Nate’s eyes turn blood red and his iris morphs into a black star that is constantly spinning both clockwise and anti-clockwise.

4 - Darkness: Nate absorbed Darkness when he was still in the Acer Tournament. Darkness is his strongest ability and is one of the reasons why he is still so feared. Darkness is the reason that there is an outstanding warrant for his arrest as well as a considerable bounty placed on him. With Darkness, Nate can do many things. He can create unbreakable shapes, tendrils and needles, he can launch pillars and beams and he can even create a thirty foot high four armed skeleton that is armed with swords of pure darkness. This skeleton is considered his ultimate defence and is impenetrable to all except those who can see it’s weakness with Intuitive Aptitude or to those who are stronger than Nate.

On the flipside of the ultimate defence, Nate also has an ultimate attack version of his darkness ability. He concentrate’s all the darkness that would make-up his skeleton into his sword. As a result his speed and attacking powers increase tenfold.
When he uses Darkness, Nate’s eyes go pure black and a black liquid solidifies on his hands and the lower half of his face and neck. A feeling of despair is also felt by anyone in the vicinity when Nate uses Darkness.

5 - Illusions: This is one of Nate’s abilities that is very rarely seen. Nate absorbed this from Erika after he killed Ven. Since her death he uses it only when he has no other choice but to use it. The illusions he creates are often used for him to deal with people’s perception of things like time, pain and their senses. The more detailed an illusion is the less time Nate can maintain it.

If he pushes himself to the limit with Illusions it can lead to vomiting, dizziness and migraines. Another downside is that he needs to keep complete concentration when using illusions.

6 - Summoning: Nate absorbed Summoning shortly after his eighteenth birthday whilst he was still in charge of the Illuminati. Summoning grants Nate the ability to conjure out of thin air up to eighteen flow-altered beasts at a time. There are limits to this ability though.

For a start, Nate can only summon creatures whose DNA he has previously absorbed into his system. Also, the how strong and large the creatures are, directly affects the energy that is required for Nate to summon them. When using the flow, Nate’s skin will often go paler and his hands develop red hues around them.

7 - Rapid Cellular Regeneration: This is the one ability that has been the difference between life and death for Nate many, many times. It could be considered one reason for his arrogance. Nate absorbed Rapid Cellular Regeneration nine years after the storm. He stole it from its original owner who was one of the Illuminati members who attacked and subdued him.

Because of Rapid Cellular Regeneration, Nate can only be killed if his heart and brain are both destroyed before the other can heal. The time that it takes to heal him depends on his severe his wounds are. A further side effect of the ability is that after healing his body too much, Nate can no longer age and unless he uses his Shape Shifting ability will look twenty four years old until he can be fully killed.

8 - Shapeshifting: Is one of Nate’s most favoured abilities due to its links with the espionage work he carries out. His face is etched on a wanted poster in nearly every district in the Utopian city. The origins of this ability came from one of the Illuminati who had turned on Nate. The ability had been stolen once Nate had been freed from his handcuffs.

There are but two rules of shape shifting. Nate can only shape shift into someone who he has had physical contact with and it doesn't allow him to replicate the flow of the person whom he has shape shifted into.

9)- Empathy: Nate absorbed Empathy four months after he was turned on by the Illuminati. He saw it as a direct way to counteract the inhumanity that Darkness instilled within him, as well as a way to fine tune his abilities and not always go in with straight up blunt force.

Primarily Empathy allows Nate to feel other people’s emotions when they’re around him. He can also manipulate these to an extent, but he isn’t as well versed at this application of the flow. It can be used on groups and singular people and as long as Nate has felt the emotion and can remember it, he can force that emotion to afflict someone else.

10) Telepathy: Nate absorbed Telepathy from a government official and formed Acer Contestant; Delmer Skinner. After carefully picking the right people’s DNA to absorb in order to help himself shape shift, he manage to get close enough to Delmer to replicate the man’s ability.

This absorption was three months prior to Delmer’s death, and despite Nate’s Intuitive Aptitude mixed with Empathy and steely determination, he is struggling to grasp the mind control side of telepathy. Currently for Nate, all Telepathy is good for is to listen in on people’s thoughts and to create telepathic links amongst his group.

But even that he couldn’t do for more than twenty minutes a day or he’d up with headaches. To further compound Nate’s annoyance he requires to keep the deadliest concentration in the world in order for the ability to work.

Other Skills: Nate is highly intelligent, possessing levels of intelligence that are beaten only by the geniuses in the world. Thanks to his Intuitive Aptitude he has mastered a wide range of fighting styles as well as becoming a full master of sword play.

Job/Alignment/Views: Nate is completely against the government and their flow nulling policy. However at the same time he is against the terrorists intentions of destruction and also seeks to defeat them for attacking him.

History: After the apocalypse Nate left the remnants of his home land to travel the post-apocalyptic land. After a year’s worth of travelling which saw him gain two companions, absorb the power of telekinesis and then watch his companions be slaughtered, Nate found himself confronted with the sight of an emerald green tower. Upon arrival at the tower, Nate was put into a three person team with Luke Evans and Kira Ryneheart. The first few challenges went without a hint of trouble, until during a long distance trial Nate learned of his true power thanks to one Joey Hadden. The more flows he absorbed the quicker he slipped down the slope of darkness.

Initially Nate was fuelled by the want to protect both Luke and Kira, doing anything and everything he could to avoid either of them getting hurt. This lead to me many confrontations between himself and a group of other contestants (Heidi, Zackary, Joey, Delmer, Paul, Erika and Adeline). Along the way Nate also formed a fire forged friendship with Eithne McHale as well as an understanding with one Tom O’Connor.

This relative peace didn’t last for very long though, a man by the name of Shima attacked and invaded the tower with a group he called the Illuminati. This group succeeded in freeing the disqualified contestants who were being held captive and together they started a riot within the tower. The Acer Contestants were readied for battle and fought off this riot, however along the way Nate found himself defending Erika Knight from a teenager driven insane by his flow.

Ven Ephah wielded the power of darkness and was out to kill any and every one he ran into. During the climax of the fight, another young teen by the name of Justin Ramsey with telekinesis tried to help Nate and in the resulting scuffle the battle ended with Justin lying dead from where Nate had pushed him away from one of Ven ‘s attacks. Ven also lay dead, his head severed from his body

After a confrontation with Shima, Nate’s problems increased tenfold. He had absorbed the power of darkness and as a result begun to go through the same process Ven had. Nate became more violent and even more obsessed with coming more powerful.

Feeling insecure about his own strength soon led to Nate feeling determined to prove he was strong. With darkness affecting his mind he came to the conclusion that he had to leave to find Shima and train under him.

After absorbing Darkness, Nate was noticeably arrogant and sarcastic, showing little to no regard for human life and using whatever people he could get his hands on as his personal playthings. He showed pity to neither Kira nor Luke, even going so far as to try and hunt them down in order to "prove" that he had no humanity left. He had always been impulsive but was now beginning to be known for his self-destructive behaviour and his devious, sadistic mind. Despite this, he stayed focused on his only goal: getting stronger.

On his last day in the tournament Nate was stopped by Luke as he tried to leave. In the resulting fight Nate nearly killed Luke and stabbed the Irish boy through the chest with his own sword. After leaving Luke for dead Nate soon departed the tower for Shima’s lair so he could begin his training.

A week and a half later, Nate returned. But this time he was coming as one of the lieutenants in Shima’s small army who had come to destroy the tower once and for all. After wiping his way through many of the people he’d once known, he and Eithne were drawn into a fight against Tom. No one other than those three knew what happened, but Tom was subdued without much fuss and Nate, Eithne, Shima and Oliver fought against the group of adults known as the Big Five.

The fight was fast paced and Shima’s soon realised they were out matched. As Shima gave the orders to retreat whilst he held back the adults, Nate activated his Super Speed and sliced Shima directly in two with his sword. This had been a pre-arranged plan that would enable Shima’s group to get away without much fuss.

After killing Shima, Nate’s descent into the darkness increased tenfold. He became more dangerous and took to finding small settlements and villages just so he could slaughter the inhabitants. He openly began to taunt Tom as well as abuse the hold he had over the man to make him kill people, despite his vow of pacifism. Despite this darkness he still seemed unable to kill younger children unless he fully allowed the darkness flow to take over. As his mastery of darkness grew Nate began to research ways to save Tom from the hold and he genuinely apologised to the man, surprising Tom with his sincerity.
As the years went by, Nate began to help his fellow Acer Contestants when their lives were in danger. He even tried to remove the hold Shima had on Tom, but failed. Despite all of this Nate still openly opposes the Utopian government and formed a rebel group out of the remnants of Shima’s former followers. All of whom were given strict instructions to not kill anyone from the Acer tournament.

Nate had a weakness for women, three of them in fact; Kira Ryneheart, Erika Knight and Sage Éclair. He would even go as far as to say he loved them. It was during any dealings that involved the three of them that he showed that despite his best attempts to cover it up, he did have compassion, love and regret inside of him. Erika and Kira both belonged to other men though, and as for Sage, Nate’s impulsive actions drove her away.

Erika died soon after and Nate fell back into the darkness. Erika was dead, he’d driven Sage away and Kira was living with Luke. This drove Nate to try harder to find a way to destroy the government’s Utopia. This determination saw not only himself but his followers grow stronger.

Driven to near insanity by his power, Nate failed to pay attention to his followers and once they were stronger they turned on him.

The whole Illuminati had powered up and between them managed to defeat and capture Nate. They escorted him back to their mountain lair in flow nulling hand cuffs.

Their plan was to offer him to the government and then use the distraction to attack the Utopia. But Nate still had loyalists within the camp and in the dead of night they broke Nate from his temporary prison and fled with him.

Since then Nate has formed a small resistance force with his loyalist and a few new members. This resistance force is against the government’s iron force control, and against Nate’s former group who were seeking to destroy everything.

OKAY. I don't mean to mini-mod, but seriously. How hard is it to write a single paragraph for a post? It's three sentences. If it doesn't seem like much, add in descriptions, feelings, the surroundings, ANYTHING. I'm not sure if it's getting on anyone else's nerves, but the RP is not in the budding section, so please try your best to write proper posts.

Yeah, what Poker said for serious. You don't need essays, but give a bit of insight in your posts, let us know what your character thinks.
