Basically, after the Storm, five out of the six adults left put together a contest to select a group of kids that were "fit for utopia." It consisted of about a month of challenges, most of which pushed the teenagers involved towards greatly honing their Flow. Think of the Hunger Games, but with specific tasks each day, and the idea isn't (usually) to kill each other, simply survive.
