I choose to cast Magic Missile, at Wolf 2, and hope to catch them offguard, in a sneak-attack.

Okay, so it automatically hits (being Magic Missile), and roll for damage, you also can still move around if you'd like, 30 feet in any direction, no more than that.

So it does 5 points of damage and the mystic energy broils the wolf's fur a fair bit as it takes notice of you.

Are you SURE you don't want to move anywhere before your turn is over?

I move back 30 ft, so as to lead some of the wolves away from Vorpalsheen.

The wolf notices the frizzle from it's coat and starts to chase towards you, and Sir Vorpalsheen takes a chance and smashes it in the back of the head as it starts to step towards you, turning it's face back after it hops five feet toward you, and you see it collapse as it starts to hop towards you, as it's eyes roll back in it's head.

(That was an Attack of Opportunity, you get 1 per round, and can use it whenever a creature leaves your melee range, or other circumstances apply. It just saved you from being bit to death XD)

The other 2 wolves continue to try to dig into the Dwarf still,
He manages to stay stable as they dig into his leg, and teeth bouncing in a flurry off of his armor (He takes 2 points of Damage, he's down to 2)

He yells out a prayer to Moradin, his Holy Dwarven God, and you see a shimmer of white surround him and he tries to continue to wallop the Wolves, as he tries to step down to their den, keeping them away from you.

It is now your turn.

You manage to give the Wolf a decent case of "cold shoulder" with a good shot just as it seems to dodge away, as it chases down after the dwarf, charging forward towards the Dwarf.
(Total of 9 Damage dealt to Wolf 1)
Wolf 3 Uninjured.
It leaps forward and tries to attack Sir Vorpalsheen, and seems to bounce off of his armor, the same for the second one feeling cold steel instead of warm blood dripping through it's teeth.

The wolves are now out of Range of Ray of Frost

Sir Vorpalsheen takes his Hammer and tears into the 1st wolf, his boots digging into the den's ground, as you hear the crack of the Wolf's neck as the weighted lump of iron collides with it.

1 Wolf to go and you'll need to move somewhere to get back into line of sight.

Raven moves forward 30 ft towards them, and casts Color Spray on the last wolf.

You did not need to make an attack roll for color spray, and I presume you positioned yourself to not try to blind Vorpalsheen XD.

This is where those Save DC's come into play.

(Also by my count: You have 1 first level spell to cast for the day, and 2 more 0 level spells before you need to sleep for 8 hours to get them back).

It failed it's save (rolled a 13), and has been knocked unconscious, and is blinded and stunned for 3 rounds, and after that, will be just blinded and stunned for 4 rounds, then stunned for round one.

This thing is defenseless for 7 Rounds! (You see now why casters are FUN)

It spends it's turn unconscious, and Vorpalsheen spends his turn Coup De Grace (Execute it). Needs to make a Fort save DC 20 or die.

It got a 6.

It's wolf skull collapses in on itself and brains explode out over the ground, and it is now absolutely empty.

You now have 3 dead wolves. And have survived...this time
(Vorpalsheen and you gain 450 XP each. You go up to level 2 at 1000.)

Sir Vorpal Sheen collapses onto the ground and invokes a prayer and Moradin heals up from 2 to 7 HP, out of 10.

He collapses in a huff, and sets his hammer on the ground. He removes his helm and wipes sweat and gore off of his hairy dwarven brow.

Aye...Moradin gave us many favors in that one pointy ears...Wait...what be that

He gets up and picks up, what appears to be a rusted and twisted piece of orange rusted metal that looks like a collar and chain. 3 scattered around the den, among the bones of the past victims,

What do you take of it...it looks kinda famil'r...I'll look it over after a nights rest p'raps.

and you see that among the bones pieces of armor, weapons and so on can be found in the remains.

Do you wish to search the bodies?

You dig up 4 suits of chain shirts, 4 long swords, and about 10 gold from various pouches and nooks and crannies. You also discover a tinderbox, a small thing of tobacco, 2 coppers, a leather map of the surrounding area, the town, with a circle over what might be a mountain symbol that you can tell is deeper into the forest, and ... a flask of blood.

(Ritz gets a 3 for Move Silently. Erimis, on the other hand, rolls 21.)

Ritz places a gentle hand on Erimis's head to comfort him. She is
displeased at seeing dead woodland creatures, but if it was self-defense
it couldn't be helped. The vial catches her attention and she wonders
what's in it. She is unaware if she has been stealthy enough and
watches the duo with the vial trying to assess the situation.

(Anastasia rolls an Eleven for Move Silently)

Anastasia sees the human and instantly gets angry.
She decides she wants to launch a sneak attack.
"Epsil, we need to kill that human." she says to her companion, and quietly moves to behind a tree.

Epsil, walking next to his elven companion, notices the group of dead animals near the two travelers and motions to be quiet. She, of course, wanted to launch a sneak attack. "Calm, Anastasia. We will get closer and see what their purposes are before we do anything violent," he said. He darts to the cover of the trees. After a few seconds he begins to sneak towards the duo, shortbow in hand.

John: Roll Listen and Spot

(Vorpal got 16 on Listen and 13 on Spot)

Before he can continue on with his statement he picks up his Warhammer, and you notice his spell has faded.

Wait...Listen...

He looks around expectantly, scanning the horizon line for something, but he's not sure what.

(Ritz gets a 9 for Hide from before while Erimis gets a 20 in Hide.)

Ritz realizes she may have tried to approach stealthily, but didn't take care to hide herself and thus quickly attempts to do so. She gestures for Erimis to follow her lead.

John

As you look along with the Dwarf you see pointed ears peak out from the trees, hear the crunch of leaves under foot, the glints of steel and faces amongst the brambles, counting in all 3, behind the Trees.

You suddenly hear Vorpalsheen bellow out

Come Outta dere ya Point eared Cowards! Step Out h'ere, If ya Basturds have anyt'ing to do wit' this, fess up so I can teach ya what happens when you piss on civilization ya tree huggin' freaks!
