Mage: The Academy

Dear Mage,
Welcome to Fyr'stcercle! I hope your trip weren't too...difficult! Some seem to find our method of transportation a bit stomach-churning--and don't worry if you can't remember exactly how you got here or why you're here. What matters now is you're here and ready to embark on a journey of discovery!
You cannot communicate with your family or friends outside of Fyr'stcercle at the moment due to communications being jammed by the protective barrier... please take this time to make friends! They are all in the same boat as you after all... And if you recall from the brochure, time passes a bit differently here. They'll hardly know you've been gone.
I must apologize in advance for sending you this letter instead of greeting you in person, Mages are busy folk after all. Ehehehehe.
I trust that you already had your Mage Classification Exam before arriving here. You also should already have your Mage Item....again do not worry if your memory is a bit hazy. That tends to happen to most people when they first arrive here. Your memories will return shortly, rest assured.
You are free to wander the academy grounds and town as you see fit. However, do not go beyond the walls--you can't get through the barrier anyway. The Outer Town is a dangerous place... only Mages with licenses are allowed to go there.
The academy does not have dorms, instead you will be living in small houses in the campus housing villages located next to the academy. You may choose one person you'd like to house with. However, until house groupings are decided you'll have to stay at one of the town inns.
For now feel free to familiarize yourself with the town... many of the locals are looking for part-timers if you wish to work. There's many entertainment venues for you to enjoy too...(I personally enjoy the local theme park myself!)...just don't stay out and party too late!

Evelyn sighed and waited in the inn lobby, holding a crumpled up letter from the Headmaster in one hand and a cup of coffee in the other. The new arrivals should be waking up soon, and there's definitely gonna be some explaining to do.

John yawned as he got up, and looked around, very confused. "...Where am I?"

"Urgh..." said both of the twins at the same time, rubbing their heads like they were a mirror.

"What in the name of a god happened?" Zayden wondered to himself, while Jaden looked around the room at the others.

"Yay, new friends!~"

John stared in confusion at the twins, determining they were siblings. "Um...who are you guys?"

"I'm Jaden and this is my brother Zayden! And his Familiar...Hey! Where's Kuruu!?" the twin demanded of her brother.

"...He's fast asleep." Zayden responded. "But, I do prefer to be called, Zade, if you do not mind."

"Ok..." John said, still confused. "...Nice to meet you two."

"...Whatever," Zayden mumbled, twirling his dagger.

"Whataboutyou?" Jaden asked.

"John." Said boy replied to the more friendly sibling. "So...any idea where we are?"

He then felt something in his pocket, and pulled out some kind of note. "What the..." He said, before opening it up and reading it.

"Uhmmmm..." Jaden said as she looked around the room. "...A room?"

"Mornin'," Evelyn said before taking a sip of coffee. "Welcome to Firstuhcircle, or however the hell it's pronounced." She took another sip. "...You're all new to this place and the academy, right?"

After finishing reading the note, John looked up at Evelyn. "So...we're here to go to school?"

Jaden looked up at the girl and gave a nod. "A-yup!"

Evelyn shrugged, before taking another sip of coffee. "Pretty much." Another sip. "The academy's not open yet, though. Preparations and stuff like that." Yet another, long sip. "...You do remember applying for school here, right?"

"Uhm...I don't..." Jaden said, tapping her chin as she stood next to John.

Andrea woke up with a headache. She looked up and saw new people and screamed. "Where the hell am I?!" she demanded angrilly.

"No..." John said, before seeing another girl wake up.

"Um...hi."

"So um..." Jaden addressed the girl who held the coffee. "...Do we get uniforms?"

"...Of course," Evelyn said, sighing. "Don't worry, it's normal for newcomers to forget stuff like that. Give it a while and you'll remember eventually."
She shook her head at Jade's question. "We do have a dress code, though."
Andrea may have felt something cold touch the back of her neck as Yas inflated behind her, blowing a raspberry.

"Interesting..." Zayden mused to himself, still twirling his dagger.

"Kay~" Jaden said with a grin.

John nodded, trying to wrap his mind around the whole situation.

...Might as well go along.

Quincy had woken up a while ago, but had separated himself from the rest of the group. The circumstances had been well explained by the letter, he thought, why would there be questions?

"So, anything else we should know, or are we free to roam?" Jaden then asked, still grinning.

"Just as long as you don't go past the barrier," Evelyn said, shrugging. She paused and looked around the room, trying to memorize faces. "Also...I'm curious. What kind of Mages are you?"

"Forbidden here, my brother's a boring Standard," Jaden said in a sing-song voice.

"I wouldn't say that if I were you," Evelyn said. "I'm a Standard as well. So is the Headmaster." At least, he used to be...
